Title: COQ10 and blood sugar
Post by: thelamefalsehood on March 08, 2012, 12:23:26 PM
Has anyone suffered from lowered blood sugar from COQ10? I had been feeling very light headed and basically like crap the past few weeks. I felt very much like you would with a case of lowered blood sugar. I bought a home blood sugar test meter today and tested out at an 82 after eating exactly 3 times. To me, that seems kind of low when FASTING blood sugar should be 70-100 or so. Mine was 82 after eating 3 solid meals within a 6 hour window. The only thing I have changed is taking the COQ10 in the past few weeks. Has anyone else experienced lowered blood sugar with this supp? I saw a couple google searches where some people had the same problem with lowered blood sugar as me.

Could be the COQ10.  Do you know what your BS levels were before starting?

Mine is usually around 84-98 after eating and I feel fine.

Normally I am mid 80's after fasting for 8-12 hours, but its been a while since I did a fasting blood test, I'll do one in the morning. It was 82 today like 45 minutes after a candy bar and a full meal and that was the first time I felt somewhat normal all day, and that was my third meal. I had been taking the COQ10 at bed and every morning I would wake up in a cold sweat and be very lightheaded/not myself all the way until lunch. Then after eating, I would feel like myself again.I had been feeling very, very lightheaded towards the end of my workouts as well. So tonight I had a banana, power bar and a big gatorade and never felt bad the entire time. After seeing what I saw today, I am fairly confident it was my blood sugar dipping too much.
