Funny how in all of these videos it is the "citizens" who hit the police first, and then when the police defend themselves it is "police brutality". These are the same people who cry on their knees thanking the cops when they stop an armed psycho from killing their sons of raping their daughters. But when they break the law and assault police officers and they respond, it is "police brutality". Epic hypocrisy.

In some cases people definitely had it coming to them but then again it's very important that the police behaves and do their job properly. They're there for OUR sake and paid for by our own tax money.

So the "citizens" can throw rocks and even molotov cocktails at the police and the police should just stand there taking the abuse? Two things:
1. Policemen are citizens too, and they have the right to self-defense like any citizen has. If you attack them first, they have the right to defend themselves with non-lethal force if you do it with your fists, and with lethal force if you use weapons.
2. Attacking a police officer is a crime like attacking any person, so they have not only the right but the duty to arrest you if you attack them and if you resist, use force to arrest you.
The bottom line is that the cops are within their rights, and they are upholding the law.

I have a German gal that cuts my hair. She's from Berlin. She told me that a few years ago, police there swooped an area that was notorious for housing African immigrants. Obviously they did nothing wrong. Was a lovely area. Didn't immediately drag the whole place down the moment they moved in ::)
So they started kicking doors down and crashing skulls, all the while making sure that there's no press or cameras around. Her ex boyfriend was on the 'assault team'. Long story short, every house where stolen goods or a known criminal was found, the whole lot in there lost their citizenship. Apparently the wives and little niglets was begging and crying, but the whole lot got booted out of Germany.
Really did warm my heart.

Look again at what I said. I didn't comment any individual cases(as no one should, since we don't even come close to knowing the background to those events) and I just made a point that cops should behave and do their job properly. If cops NEED to defend themselves then by all means they should do so. But they have no business whatsoever starting fights/conflicts on their own initiative.

It seems very ungermanic to destroy or aleast partly destroy one of the its great rail terminals and all for a few minutes quicker to Augsburg and Ulm. The fantastic arrivals/ departure hall will probably become either a drug and alco shelter (on a larger scale than Charlottenplatz ) as passangers will have little reason to go there. Billions will be spent on the overall project even as Germany mocks Greek financial management. Its not clear german financial acumen is any better
