I've always looked up to Rich Gaspari since I saw old magazine covers, photos, and videos. I respected him because he was a no nosense guy who trained with 100% intensity. I've never met Rich, but my wife has a mutual aquaintance and what she told me about him changed my opinion of him.
My wife is best friends with an amateur physique and soon to be female bodybuilder named Shannon and they've know each other since they were young out in Oakdale, California where she grew up. Someone from Gaspari Nutrition contacted Shannon last month about sponsering her after she competed at the Govoner's Cup and she got another call 2 weeks ago to set up an appointment to meet Rich himself in Culver City because he was on business there.

Saw Rich at an expo once. All the "greats" were making time for fans. Not him. Sure he is a business owner and trying to make money, but he should make time for fans in that situation.
Also, him and Hide recently came to NZ. He was making one appearance at a supplement store in my city. It had been advertised for ages and people had come from quite a long way away to be there. I've always looked up to Rich Gaspari since I saw old magazine covers, photos, and videos. I respected him because he was a no nosense guy who trained with 100% intensity. I've never met Rich, but my wife has a mutual aquaintance and what she told me about him changed my opinion of him.
My wife is best friends with an amateur physique and soon to be female bodybuilder named Shannon and they've know each other since they were young out in Oakdale, California where she grew up. Someone from Gaspari Nutrition contacted Shannon last month about sponsering her after she competed at the Govoner's Cup and she got another call 2 weeks ago to set up an appointment to meet Rich himself in Culver City because he was on business there.
They met at the Olive Garden and Rich said that he was very interested in signing her and that she was garanteed a pro card if she became a Gaspari athlete and of course Shannon wanted the contract. I guess the dinner lasted like 2 hours and they really hit it off, I don't know any details about that, but after dinner Rich said he wanted to give Shannon a ton to Gaspari supplements, gear (not steroids), and some documents that he had in his room at the Marriott. She follows Rich back to the hotel which I guess is pretty nice, and they go to his room where he had a few boxes full of Gaspari shit, but there were no "documents" for her. Rich ask if she was still hungry or wanted a drink and he says he wants to hang out for awhile because he was all alone there and wanted company. She said okay thinking they'd watch TV or something.
They do watch TV, both sitting on his bed and while he's flipping through the TV Guide or whatever he stops at the porno channel and makes a joke about turning it on, which he does even though she laughed in an unintered fashing to signal she wasn't interested. Now I guess she starts to feel uncomfortable because she is married and devoted to her husband, but she doesn't want to disrespect Rich or create an awkward moment so she just sits there.
I guess the porn they were watching was really hardcore stuff, like anal, and Rich started talking about how much he loved anal and how it turned him on and he asked Shannon if she ever had anal sex and she now felt very uncomfortable and tried to turn the awkward situation around by jokingly saying that "stuff should only come out of the butt and not come in!". Rich then just puts his hand in between her legs and starts rubbing her vagina and she said she was married but he tried to convince her it was okay and that it was only a one time thing and I guess he tried to actually stick his hands down her pants and she freaked out, told him she was sorry, and left.
She never heard back from the company or Rich. I always respected Gaspari, but wow!
