I have had to happen to me in years past.   While this may temporarily affect your training in my experience it will not be a long term problem.  The area will remain tender (mmm chicken tenders lol) for a few weeks but will then completely heal.  As will all injuries,do not do any exercises that causes the pain.  You will just retard the healing.

I pulled an ab muscle in college doing back flips.  Takes along time to heal and it really affects bench, tricep pushdowns, squats, etc.  Be glad you did not injure your abs.

P.S.  I no longer do tricks (they are for kids)  ;)

happens to me about once a year. usually while doing shrugs or one arm DB rows i get a tight sensation in my neck/trap area and the next day it hurts. hurts bad when i turn my head to the left but not to the right. doctor told me a muscle strain or small pull. it has happen to me 5 or 6 times in the last 5 years. i just lay off shrugs/DB rows for a week and it is usually gone in 4-5 days tops.
