Man, talk about doing it for the paycheck. I know Sapp has a big image in Japan, but surely it's not worth that much if he doesn't even try. Hard to think this is the same guy that knocked out Hoost (x2) and almost killed Big Nog.

Actually looked much more crisp with his strikes but still has that lumbering look about them. Kinda like the fat guy who loses all that weight but still has a kind of waddle. :)
How about Pudz vs. Hershel Walker? Could be a good matchup...

Sapp doesn't like getting hit. He usually covers up whenever thing s start going south and drops to the canvas. One sided match but until mariusz faces a proper opponent who will take him out to deep waters it's too early to assess his potential. Sylvia would've weathered the earlier barrage and ravaged mariusz once he started gassing. He did it once before.

He was pretty tough when he was loaded to the gills in pride. He got his ass handed to him a bunch of times though. Check out Sapp vs Cro Cop. Cop actually makes him cry.

That's what's great about MMA..you can be an over the hill athlete from any other sport, even strongman...and you can be a factor in MMA...any schmuck can do halfway good there.
Try that with boxing...see how far you get, LOL. he would be on a couple of local, televised undercards because of his name, get knocked out 2 or 3 times, and never be heard from again.
In MMA, he'll be getting a title shot with one of the sanctioning bodies in 6 months

That organization he's in is complete shit. You only see him in freak show fights. He wouldn't even be in the top 100 in the ufc. You don't see to many freak show fights in the ufc anymore. Brock might be one of the last. He was pretty legit with his NCAA wrestling background. We all saw what ended up happening to him.

I agree. Been saying this for years. If you're athletic and a reasonably tough dude, you can train in MMA-style sessions for a couple of years and likely become quite good.
Put it this way, Pudz's strongman success is FAR more impressive than him perhaps winning some mid-tier fight in even the UFC.
It takes many years for almost all trainers to climb to the top in powerlifting or strongman or boxing or ... But if you are athletic and can take a punch, and have loads of tats, and have a closet full of TapOut clothing, you're almost there in MMA.
