That didn't seal anything - Az was still down a run and won that game on a fluke throwing error.  Surely you have a better baseball memory than a middle relief appearance that kept his team within one run...

But coincidently, that game is probably my all time WORST baseball memory, for the following reasons:

- 911 was that year and a NY win would have been inspiring
-No team in any sport 4 peats anymore, and that would have been it.
-A Yankee win would have been the culmination of a insane playoff run - the Jeter flip play against the As who had no business losing the ALDS, the destruction of the record setting 115 win Mariner team in the ALCS, and the two insane 9th inning Yankee comebacks off Kim that led to the game 7.
- Clemens outpitched Schilling in an epic battle.
- It was decided because of an error.  I hate that the most.   Also, a stupid call by Torre playing the infield in.  Also, a hit by a shitty, shitty ballplay named Tony Womack.  Also, they had a chance to turn a double play on the sac bunt because the bunter slipped, but Brosius didn't look up after the ball was thrown to him...

And, thanks for making me think about it again, asshole.   ;D ;D ;D

Please, pick another memory.

Winning the division championship in JV baseball.  I still remember coach saying before the game that for many of us this would be the biggest game of our life.  He was right.   :D

Game 6 of the 2011 WS. Cardinals keep homering back into it. Literally down to their last strike at two different points, if I remember correctly.

They don't write 'em any better than that.

Although Moneyball was excellent, I thought the premise for the movie was completely boring, and I'm a SABR guy.   Sadly, history proves the A's were never that relevant since the 70's.

Um...  The A's made three straight World Series appearances in a row '88, '89, '90.  I would call that relevant  :-*

I was at Yankee Stadium in 2001 the night Bush threw out the first pitch.   Sat in the bleachers in left field and paid $175.00.   Still worth it.

Still miss the old stadium.

New stadium is nice, but the older one was way louder.

It must have been a very powerful moment.  Bush stood there on the mound and threw a strike!  It was symbolic.

Place erupted.

Miss the old stadium.    New one is too corporate and just not loud.   Old one was dirty bathrooms and tons of stairs in the upper deck, but it still was better.

Game 6 of the 2010 ALCS... Neftali Feliz firing in a 99mph fastball past Alex Rodriguez as he stood there like a pud and watched it go by for strike 3, thereby sending the Texas Rangers to their first World Series.

Can't watch the link right now but I believe he caught that off of Ozzie Smith, my favorite player off all time.
