I drive a fake Hummer...an H2! I did get a 6.2 longblock for it though..it has 475 horsepower.
I also drive a '77 Corvette....has a mild 350 and 4 speed manual....I just don't dare take it in the rain or on real hot days (no AC).

i see both sides. although they are not usually a good investment beside certain Ferraris n collectables, i have been addicted to cars my whole life, i have the means to acquire them, and no nothing handed to me from rich parents..... built my business from scratch etc, but just like anything else people spend money on, some people have a love affair w cars. n why not? cars r a miracle of art n engineering. its kinda like peeps bitch about the hassle of flying but i look at it as the miracle of flight even if its late, delayed etc..cmon...we're flying in the clouds! so the fact that some guys have a passion for vehicles doesn't always mean they are compensating for lack of confidence or small penis or wutever. some of us just love cars. i say thumbs up on the H1. they r still badass if u can justify the cost of fuel

Currently a '10 Chevy cobalt for commuting and '04 chevy ext cab 4x4 for everywhere else. The best kind of vehicles also, paid off. I'm looking at upgrading the truck soon. It has 140k miles on it but it's still dependable.

How many miles per gallon do you get with that thing, driving up and down mountains in SD? I know people with H2s that get about 5 mpg :-X instead of the city recommended 9 mpg.

Only broke asses like you care about "MPG" when it comes to hobby vehicle. I don't think you will grasp that concept until you get out of the rat race, if you ever do.
That being said, the black one gets about 18 diesel mpg, 23 when running CNG on top of it, a little more when running biodiesel which we make ourselves.

While my father has helped me out, I do not live off his money, my wife and I both work, more than one job actually (Plus I'm in grad school For my phd), and own our own business.

I was driving a Caddy CTS-V. was making $600 a month payments and $150 for insurance. I sold it this spring and bought an old Jeep for $1,000 cash. Now I just keep adding to my motorcycle collection.

A few months ago, I saw my Lotus for sale in Los Angeles and I helped the guy a bit with his description of the car. He forgot that I added the rare Flowmaster exhaust, Race Chip, Blow-Off Valve, and new dual sealed gas tanks. I have gotten sick of cars for the most part and have put my focus elsewhere in the meantime. I am sure I will get back to cars one day. I really would like another 1959 Cadillac, the best car I ever owned, or a Beck 550 Spyder.

mmm... no offense chief but CTS-V payments would be way more than 600... even on a lease... nice car thought, looked at the wagon version for the wife and was around 64-72k... but she doesn't like "luxury" 'cause the kids are messy; settled for a full equipped Terrain.

Thanks. It's ironic that the Marauder gets way more attention than my 5.0. There were only 470 Marauders produced for sale in Canada during 2003-2004. Believe it or not, mine sat brand new on the lot for 3 years before I scooped it up. The dealer took a monster hit on it. I seldom ever see another one up here, but when I do, the drivers tend to be pushing 75, which is kind of funny.
