You have to love the human belief that we are something "special." I guess that is why we created religion. We needed to feel special in the face of such a large and unexplainable cosmos.

It puts into perspective any problems you think you have, it simply doesn't matter, it doesn't now and it never will.

Everything man achieves will eventually count for absolutely nothing.
Our time on this planet is limited, we like all other species will eventually disappear.

Enjoy your time here and do exactly as you like, none of it matters.

On the other hand, we are the only observed entities capable of bonafide metacognition (the ability to think about thinking) in all of existence. So we may be special after all.

The thing that always struck me as odd is , that entertaining God were real even then , what's the fucking purpose anyway?  to create an entire Universe so we can inhabit a single planet to behave for 0-100 years or however long you live and to worship and praise him all the while? kissing his ass for a short time to get to another place  ???

And what are the odds he would choose earth of all places to sacrifice his only son? religion is a relic.

Wittgenstein said, "The sense of the world must lie outside of the world. ... In it, there is no value, - and if there were, it would be of no value."

We may be small, but does it matter?  Of what value is the rest of the vast universe?  Where does value come from, anyway?

the original post.. about the size of the universe.. amounting to 80 billion galaxies.. or whatever.. the idea that the universe is finite in size and contents..  on what basis is that blasphemous assertion grounded ??  ;D who says there are limits? because we can not see anything out past the edge of the known universe, means theres nothing outside of it ?   yes, im sure thats the case.  ;D   ;D   silly fools..  ;D

LOL.. you cant think of any possible reasons other than ass kissing ?  ;D  .. i dont think youve actually thought about this very much  ;D
