They would probably still be losers without the weed.

They say that addicts stop maturing mentally as long as they are actively addicted to something. It's some sort of defense mechanism the brain uses to make the continual use of drugs justifiable.

Not 100% sure if its true, but I definitely know I wasn't growing mentally because I would just flat out ignore what was going on around me to keep justifying why my using was ok, and not dealing with consequences or emotions = not maturing.

the reason why people usually stop maturing when using drugs all the time is exactly because they arent dealing with their emotions.  where you came up with the bit about a defense mechanism is beyond me.

It's one of the things they taught us in treatment.  It's a defense mechanism in that if you don't deal with the problems you're creating around you, you will not see how much damage your use is doing, and therefore you can keep using without regret (as the brain will do whatever it can to make use acceptable)

I know my brain always made up whatever excuse it could to make my use ok, so I can see where they came up with that.

Title: Re: So high right now...

LOL

okay i see where your coming from

the problem is the vast majority of treatment programs are complete bullshit.  dont get me wrong, they will work if you do the program. but the shit they feed you about the scientific causes and happenings is almost always factually incorrect and just plain silly. like the idea that having an addictive personality is a disease you cant cure yourself of.  :D

as for you brain making up excuses, rationalizing your use. nope, sorry bro.. dont pass the blame. that rationalization and excuse-making was all you.  :)

This is generally true of most types of escapism.

Anyhow I wanna get high as shit right now. My urge to drink as kinda dropped.

However my desire to get fucked up is still greater than ever.

There's free weed down stairs, and the only thing holding me back is the chance an employer will drug test me.

Yes, I know treatment programs are bullshit. But its helpful to gain an understanding of what you're doing, and why you're doing it.

And I'm pretty sure my brain is part of me, so yes I know it was me rationalizing and making excuses. The hard part is becoming self aware enough to understand these things.

And trust me dude, I've wrestled with this shit for the last 10 years. I don't need you to try and lecture me.  And yes, I know you have had some experience.

YOU think.. you are not an organ.. nor are you the surmass of all your bodyparts..  look to organisms that lack a brain but still function as if they have one.. for example bacteria.. bacteria think.. but no brain.. where does the thinking happen ??  ;D  thinking beings are prisoners in the flesh.. the flesh affects the thinking being.. the thinking being affects the flesh.. but they are not one in the same..

but your brain is unable to think. it only affects thinking, it doesnt actually produce thought.  the point being= it wasnt your brain rationalizing. it was you. (making a distinction between you(the thinking being) and your brain(an organ that affects you)

1. What DOES produce thought, then? What is its relation to brains and why is it undetectable? How does it causally interact with brains? Why is it related to brains the way it is? What is its origin? Why is it related to brains and not, say, hearts? Why does the activity of brains limit what types of thought can be produced -- as brain lesion studies make clear -- if such thoughts are produced by ethereal, magical thought makers? Is it really necessary to posit thought producers above and beyond brains? How good of an explanation is it to attribute mentality to an undetectable entity with no proven causal impact on the world versus an object in the class of scientifically established, REAL objects whose causal impact is measurable and amenable to study?

2. If you want to attribute mentality to something above and beyond the brain, the only plausible entity around is the organism that possesses that brain. So, strictly speaking, we needn't say "my brain is in pain!" but rather "I am in pain!" even though brains are necessary for such mental states. But that doesn't at all mean you and I are magical floaty spirits that wisp about and are just renting the head space of an organism. In fact, this is a patently stupid idea -- unless you can develop compelling answers to the questions in (1), that is. We are organisms that have brains as parts.

;D  "i think, therefore i am" ..  brain doesnt think.. it affects thinking.. YOU think.. you are not an organ.. nor are you the surmass of all your bodyparts..  look to organisms that lack a brain but still function as if they have one.. for example bacteria.. bacteria think.. but no brain.. where does the thinking happen ??  ;D  thinking beings are prisoners in the flesh.. the flesh affects the thinking being.. the thinking being affects the flesh.. but they are not one in the same..

3. "I" is a personal pronoun which refers to conscious beings. If you agree with the dictum "I think, therefore I am" and also believe that bacteria think, you ought to believe that bacteria are conscious beings. Do you really think this?

4. Who says bacteria think, anyway? What do you mean by "think"? The people who study them certainly don't think this.

5. Hmm, it's hard to analyze the claim 'you aren't the surmass of your bodyparts' when 'surmass' isn't even a word. Maybe you can clarify this sentence for us?

6. You say that thinking beings are mere prisoners of flesh, and that flesh (matter) does not produce thought. This implies that thinking is an essentially immaterial activity and that by extension, thinkers are immaterial. Now, back to your bacteria: if thinkers are immaterial and bacteria think, then bacteria are immaterial. Do you really mean to say something to the effect that every bacteria is essentially a little soul that is just 'imprisoned' in some matter arranged bacteria-wise for a temporary time?

7. Maybe you'll bite the bullet and accept the proposition that your last steaming pile of shit was full of souls (which must be true if thinkers are immaterial souls and bacteria think). I haven't focused on logical inconsistencies, but on whether a theory that would lead to such a claim is the best theory on hand. But we can't even have that discussion until you develop such a theory, which entails developing plausible and mutually compatible answers for the questions in (1).

tl;dr You've presented terribly muddled thinking that leads to absurdity and the only hope would be to construct an amazing theory of mentality that saves dualist intuitions -- something nobody has ever done in 2,500+ years of philosophizing. And using made-up words leads to embarassing attempts at sounding smart. The end.

LOL

the fact of the matter is that the nature of consciousness is still a complete mystery

neuroscience in no way explains the human experience, or thought in general.

do i think bacteria are conscious? absolutely. we evolve from them. so i think it necessarily logical that they possess at the very least some form of consciousness.

yes, i think dualism the most plausible explanation for life and the physical universe.

and while you are completely able to argue against any assertion made about the existence of a soul, that in no way disproves it. and any assertion made to deny the existence of the soul can also be argued, but again that in no way proves it.

in the end, i feel as if i cause things to happen. thus, i believe in causality. thus, i believe there is a cause to life. ;)   think it over ;)

to set the context, i usually smoke once or twice a week... weed only and i don't smoke cigarettes so my baby lungs absorb everything...

i'm married, have a senior management level job at a big bank, a condo, 2 brand new cars, etc...

why smoke weed? well it's almost legal in Canada (small amounts are not a criminal offence) and there are no calories in weed...  ;D

I don't have a lot of weed smoking friends and don't have a lot of experience with it myself, but
I've read that one of the "side effects" of weed is it can make you very argumentative in a negative way, even after stopping the habit. Is this something you guys have noticed?

Some people become very aggressive after stopping, usually very heavy smokers for many years.

As a mild sedative/depressant, your CNS will go through a rebound period after you stop where it will be slightly elevated to compensate for years of a depressed state, causing anxiety and irritability.

I see you as well did not complete an education, just to run down why he is not wrong.

in terms of percent we equate percentage as an amount of a whole, so 100% is the whole of something, lesser amounts are ever declining percentages which equate to parts of this whole.

So most aka 85% in this case leaves 15% who may be like yourself, so while his statement may be in fact wrong you have not disproven it, your Nof1 study fails, you fail because you smoke weed and as we see everyone who smokes weed is a loser and is immature, thanks for proving it.

oh yes, While I smoked all day long, I stayed high I could become crazy with rage. After I was also like that but that has gone away completely, there really are very few long term side effects, perhaps psychosis causing issues but other then that none that are clear.

I actually recently asked a childhood aquaintance, with a 20-year habit, about negative effects he's noticed from his use. He said, "it can make you very aggressive". I was a bit surprised as weed is supposed to make you mellow, right? But I didn't pursue the question further. It makes sense if it's during "down" times, and I know he's been off it at times due to being tested or even incarcerated.

I remember tbombz saying an EOD toke will cancel all negative mental effects from tren use. But what about if you stop it alltogether after extensive use? Crazy aggression? :D

So aggression even during active use? I thought it was supposed to mellow you out to the extent that if a large % of the population smokes it would affect even the foreign policy of a country... increasing the "peace movements" etc. You know like during the Vietnam war and the peace movements during that time.

There's nothing imaginary about what you do here.  Sure, you like to parade around here like some sort of foreign exchange student that speaks very little English and is all PRO Caribbean, but the fact of the matter is that you're an American, born and raised, who is too ashamed of your own identity, so instead you have to run off to the outskirts of Getbig to heal the pain of obscurity brought about by your own lack of self respect.

You suggest that maybe your behavior is not indicative of your desire to be a full blown homosexual, but consider this:

You put a lot of energy into gathering, saving and posting hundreds of videos displaying trannys on this site.  For as much as you want to poke fun at the fact that I am a homosexual, you are the one devoting more of your time, energy and mental drive at gathering material that SCREAMS faggot.  It's like saying that the guy beside you who talks with a feminine lisp is gay, while you're at the other end looking at playgirl magazine and salivating over cocks.

Who is more gay now?

Well it heightens everything, sensations, emotions etc so if you are going to get mad you tend to get even worse then if sober, It certainly has paranoia as a side which can cause some mind fucks which again can cause over reaction.

Everyone I know who smokes is right on all professionals, perhaps because I am a professional. I would have to say that it is the person who creates the outcome not the drug. I have had oxys for my knee when I blew it out, took some for recreation a couple of times never touched it again. Losers are always looking for an escape and they will find one no matter the drug. Now some people have mental health issues with that I agree that they are not losers merely sick people who are trying to self medicate. But look at it another way everyone is on something, whether it's your coffee in the AM, wine in the PM or smokes in the day everyone has their vices some vices are fit a bit tighter.

I have had oxys for my knee when I blew it out, took some for recreation a couple of times never touched it again. Losers are always looking for an escape and they will find one no matter the drug. Now some people have mental health issues with that I agree that they are not losers merely sick people who are trying to self medicate. But look at it another way everyone is on something, whether it's your coffee in the AM, wine in the PM or smokes in the day everyone has their vices some vices are fit a bit tighter.

agreed.  i feel like crack and heroin will bottom a person out from the get-go while coffee and porn could be enjoyed a lifetime and, not necessarily, cause a lot of damage.  weed is in that deceptive grey area where it's not severe enough to be alarming or a shock to the lifestyle but not harmless enough to avoid permanent and hugely limiting effects on every aspect of a persons life.  def think a person could get by snorting a line once every few months and be better off than most who smoke every day or 3+ times per week.

i never liked weed during sex you would be banging a girl then she could look crazy like a monster since weed tends to make more colors and distortions floating around in your vision at night

sometimes weed would make me super confident and i'd just go up to girls on the dance floor at the club and just start kissing them full force, and this was really quite unusual for me since i'm usually just a shy guy ;D

I agree with this.

I know tons of Professionals who use rec drugs, not so many weed smokers, but a lot of upper level successful people do drugs or drink heavily.

One of the most intelligent Architects i've ever met smokes weed every night and does coke on the weekends. He's in his 40's and makes more money than most people dream of.

In the end we all have our vices, i drink coffee every morning 7 days a week to get me going in the morning. Does that make me different than someone who smokes weed or drinks every night to relax? I don't think so. Legal issues aside i don't see a big deal with smoking weed, i've seen far more destruction from drinking than smoking pot.

What's your favorite strain of weed?

Also, what can you tell me about Sour Diesel?  I found some of that, along with kush in my nephew's bag not too long ago.

sour diesel is hybrid that is part indica part sativa obviously, but this is sativa dominant. It is more uppy and is considered cerebral in nature. While kush is a hybrid it is indica dominant so it's more heavy, sedating and couch locking. I would consider diesel a daytime weed and kush's of all kinds nighttime weed. Sativas are good for depression, motivation, pain while indicas are better for sleep, anxiety and appetite along with nausea.

Like everything I learn the fuck out of things when I do them I have read literally every study on MJ there is, I'm obsessive like that son.

clearly should be legal, I mean the US has a patent on it for neuroprotection. It has many health benefits for cancer, psychiatry and immune disorders. it's truly silly that it is banned we are missing out on alot of research into these compounds which are literally miracle drugs, especially for inflammation.

i've been seeing more and more cannabinoid narcotics on the market...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabinoid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabinoid)

which is kind of silly because the risk factors for all of them exceed the health dangers of smoking a few joints (even less risk if you use a vaporizer)

but i definitely find value in getting stoned out of my skull once or twice a week. really helps me manage my stress levels, ensure that i get a full night's sleep and helps with recovery

Outed for being paranoid on an anonymous internet board and trying to justify your drug addiction to someone you'll never meet.
