That is so crazy. Why would you use oil like that. His left bicep was slightly smaller, but damn that just looks stupid now.

Why do these guys look so much older in only 5 years?? Is it the gear or what? Granted, they're 5 years older but damn.

I would say the same. In the same time their body improves, they get like 20 years older in the face. You can't even recognize Chris Cook anymore, the pics look like 2 different persons.  :-X

I'm gonna get flamed for this but many of these guys didn't improve in the right direction.

Going for general mass won't improve their standings in bodybuilding contests. It would be amazing if they actually spent 5 years trying to get certain muscles to grow, ie Bicep peaks and calves, instead of trying to be the next Ronnie Coleman or Markus Ruhl.

Theres actually such a thing as too much size, it causes a distended a guy, bad proportions, etc. Don't look for other bodybuilders to guide you, they're the Chris Cooks of the world that think size is the reason they don't win contests. A 12 year old browsing an old muscle mag could tell these guys why they look terrible, it's not your freaking size, its your freaking gut and terrible aesthetics.

No offense, but they're literally "misinformed", its almost humerous, these guys spend 5 years working hard trying to gain mass, then they do it and they still rank out of the top 10 in most contests. I got news for ya, it's not FROM YOUR FREAKING SIZE. PROPORTIONS, AESTHETICs, YOU LOOK LIKE SHIT. GEEZ SOMEONE HAD TO FUCKING SAY IT.

How much longer can he be overlooked now?

Thing is, he looks really great standing by himself.  But put him next to the top 5 and he's still got a bit more mass and symmetry to go.  He's good - and I'm a fan of his - but he's not top 5 material just yet.  It's easy to judge in pictures, but when you watch video or even better in person you can see the real differences between these guys.

As for Victor Martinez - someone posted that one arm is bigger than the other and that he looks rediculous.  It's so slight it's not even noticeable, unless you want to point out subtle flaws like that.  For that matter, Jay Cutler's entire right side at the olympia was larger than his left - upper AND lower body - but everyone seemed to miss that.

Speaking of Jay - which I'm surprised noone posted - here's a comparison for you:

Jay, looking great... before: (circa 1998)

Waaaay after.  And Waaay older looking.

Also, I don't think the first Cutler pic is from 1998. I think it was taken in the last two/three years.

Wow Branch Warren looks like a baby in that first picture. Hard to believe it's only been 5 years. As for Art he looked awesome when he first turned pro but man his physique has just become ugly. He is massive no doubt, but certainly isn't something I would aspire too.

Vic definitley has some valentino look to those arms, not nearly as ridiculous but that same shape is there alittle, doesnt look good,

They all do look way older than 5 yrs between the shots, that was the 1st thing i noticed.  The GH, keeping you young, doesnt apply to those shots thats for sure.

Most of them looked better at the 2000 pic.

Will these guys make it to 50?  45?  How many years does that much gear take off from you?

They always "look better" before they turn pro at the NPC, look at Branch Warren and chris cook. Bodybuilding is about the look, and they looked better before Pro days.
