NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, in an exclusive interview with TIME magazine, said the league is considering an idea from Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano that would eliminate kickoffs.
After a touchdown or field goal, instead of kicking off, a team would get the ball on its own 30 yard line, facing fourth down with and 15 yards to go. The options are either to go for it and try to retain possession or punt the ball away. If you try for a first down and fall short, the opposing team would take over with good field position.

I know a punt return is a bit different, as they don't have as much time to gain full speed by coming out of the endzone, but how much "safer" can it be? What a stupid idea.

Schiano is crying his ass off about player safety; despite the fact that he's the fucking asshole who wants his team to rush the quarterback when the fucking game is over. So far, he's been willing to risk the ingury of both Mannings even though it's game over. Fucking major jackass right there. He'll pretend that it's about player safety but he's totally willing to risk the players on an extreme long shot. Schiano Is The Biggest Jackass Hypocrite Ever...
