Andy Reid FIRED
(http://theloquitur.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/AndyReid.jpg)
The 14-year head coaching tenure of Andy Reid has ended, the Philadelphia Eagles announced on Monday morning.
The organization’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Lurie will hold a press conference at noon today at the NovaCare Complex. We will hold a special edition of Eagles Live! at 11 AM, which you can watch live on PhiladelphiaEagles.com or on our mobile app. Lurie will discuss the decision to dismiss Reid, who led the Eagles to six NFC East titles, five NFC Championship Games and an appearance in Super Bowl XXXIX.
"Andy Reid won the most games of any head coach in Eagles history and he is someone I respect greatly and will remain friends with for many years to come,” said Lurie. "But, it is time for the Eagles to move in a new direction. Coach Reid leaves us with a winning tradition that we can build upon. And we are very excited about the future.”
Reid joined the team in 1999 and immediately turned the fortunes of the franchise around in a positive direction with the implementation of a strong coaching staff, solid moves in free agency and the selection of quarterback Donovan McNabb. The Eagles reached the playoffs one season later, in 2000, the first of nine postseason trips in Reid’s 14 seasons leading the football operations.
His 140 victories are a franchise record and rank 22nd on the all-time NFL coaching list.
The Eagles concluded the 2012 season with a 4-12 record after their loss to the Giants on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
"The search for the new coach of the Philadelphia Eagles will begin immediately," said Lurie.

I hope Andy takes a year off from football and takes time for him and his family. Lots of tragedy there for the man to sort through.
Teams will salivate to have him coach their teams. There will be no shortage of jobs for the man when he comes back. A bit of time away can recharge his batteries for the game, let him study some things he's not getting time to do, and be the creative genius that he is.
I predict good things for the team that picks him up. Unless it's Kansas City...Jesus couldn't coach them to a winning season.

????? You must be out of your skull to say Favre couldn't handle pressure.
lol...Not handling pressure is throwing INT's in critical situations...And Brett Favre is the king of doing just that. With the teams BF had, he should easily have 3 or 4 SuperBowls.

lol...Not handling pressure is throwing INT's in critical situations...And Brett Favre is the king of doing just that.
Brett Farve did 2 things.. Throw TD's and throw pics. That was what he did.
That said... Dude was a gunslinger.

Throwing a pic in the red zone is the worst thing anyone on the field can do to hurt your team. Favre was notorious for doing just that. The media created the word gunslinger. They also tried to give Jay Cutler that title. And anyone watching Jay Cutler play QB can see he has an awesome arm but sucks as a QB. Favre, Cutler and Romo all have something in common. Tons of talent but throw the basics out the door when the pressure comes out them.

Yes, very similar. In bodybuilding, we have men with striated and hard glutes posing in thongs. In football, we also have men with hard glutes, instead bent over and wearing extremely tight pants.
I can see the great appeal of both sports to many men on here.

I would go time traveler style on the choke artist Tony Romo.
I would go back in time, fuck his grandma, then shoot forward in time and then fuck his mom. Then return back to the present and call him the product of two incestuous whores and tell him he's my son and show him video of me plowing both members of his family.

Well, under his abilities, the team went to five NFC championship games, and he won more games than any other Eagles coach.
I'd say he's pretty good at what he does and has a very special aptitude for strategy and executing that strategy with plays that win football games.
His pedigree is pretty impressive, and he studied well under Walsh - he's a major reason why the NFL is as pass-happy as it is, so he's a trailblazer too. He was one of the pioneering coaches that taught other teams that you don't need to dominate with the run to win games. That requires a certain genius to execute such a bold strategy considering how entrenched the run game is in the league.
I neither hate nor love the Eagles. But he's better than most coaches who've ever coached in the league. When you consider that being an NFL coach means you're the best out of the best in the world, I'd say that makes him elite. And perhaps a genius when it comes to football IQ.
You disagree. How come?

After this season, that Massive Jumbtron will be the 2nd largest in the NFL
Texans To Build NFL's Largest Video Board
Things are about to get a little bigger in Texas.
The Houston Texans announced that they will begin construction soon on what will be the biggest video screen in the NFL, besting the video screen at Cowboys Stadium by about 3,000 square feet. The new video board was approved on Wednesday by the Harris County Sports & Convention Corporation.
The Mitsubishi video screen at Reliant Stadium will measure 277 feet by 52 feet (14,549 square feet). Construction will start at the end of this season, and the new screen will reportedly be ready by Aug. 1, 2013.
The Texans aren't building the humongous video screen just so they have bragging rights over their neighbors to the north (although that's not a bad perk). Rather they are hoping to host the Super Bowl in 2017, and they think the larger video board could be a crucial part of their pitch to the NFL.
"An integral component is the Super Bowl bid," Houston Texans President Jamey Rootes said. "Their question is, 'What is the experience going to be like? The game experience for the fans when they're there for the Super Bowl?' When you show that picture and it is the largest stadium installation, 25 percent larger than what they’ve seen before, you can't help but think that will be exciting for the fans.”
If Houston's display does come out to be 14,549 square feet, it will be the second largest in the world. Only the screen at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, which measures 16,000 square feet, is larger.

where do I start? I will state that Andrew Walter Reid was a very good coach for us over the 14 yr span. BUT he has some MAJOR flaws. Yes they went to 5 NFC title games BUT alot of that team he coached back then were players he inherited. He did a great job hiring awesome coaches at every position AT FIRST BUT he never replenished the staff with quality over the years which is why after the 2004 Reid record is barely over 500. He goes through seasons completely ignoring positions ( ie Wide receivers under Mcnabb and most recently Linebackers) His recent track record of drafting is horrid ( yes he hit well with Jackson, Mccoy and a few lineman but he has drafted ALOT of losers who arent even in football anymore) and lets not get into his reluctance to run the football despite having a player like Lesean Mccoy
I wish him well but I think the national media will have you think Reid is an Obese jesus with a clipboard

Yesterday he was definitely "arts and craftsy" Tony Romo
-
Romo wasn't ready for this week or next week for that matter. He's 35 years old and and his shoulder problem needed that extra time to mend. Even his timing and strength was less than desired, with Romo trying to force some plays. Rep's in practice can never measure up to the real thing in a game. He was just wanting to do toomuch, too soon. His body language showed he was less than ready.
Think Dallas should consider trading Romo, and look for a younger future QB next drsft. Cassell to handle things during that time. Romo has guts, no doubt about that...but there are limits as he grows older. If he becomes more fragile, than he is surly gone. But picking up that heavy salary of his, in a trade, might be a big problem for other team owners.
If Murray was still there, with his running downhill style, even with Romo's being sub par or not there at all, Dallas might have won more of those close games that were lost.
Cam being the man in that game. Panthers look very, very good this season...no doubt.

Dallas goes into the tank the last five games and will have a top 5 draft pick to spend on a QB.
