Title: Anyone use Taurine?
Post by: outby43 on January 04, 2013, 03:21:46 AM
I have been having muscle spasms/cramping in my upper back under the scapula and around my ribs under my right tit.

I read that Taurine taken at 1-3 grams may help.  I think I may go to Chiropractor to see if they can determine what is wrong.  Been like this for  3 months.  I have not done anything to injure myself that I know of.

There could be a few reasons why it might help ~ clen usage for instance...

no I had an upper GI and a scan of the gallbladder when the first symptoms appeared because the sensation was in the upper right side rib region,  That was 5 moths ago.  I never thought it was muscular until I started having the cramps from my upper lats and then down around to the front.  I am apprehensive about going back to doc because they will order some other scan which wont show anything so I figured I would go to a reputable chiropractor ( if there is such a thing) but in the meantime maybe I can try Taurine as I know that it may help with Clen cramps.  No I am not on Clen..

I ask because i have the same synthoms on and off the back lower scapula / trap tie in to rightside of spine forst manifesting it self several weeks after upping my bench lift load several years ago to try and keep pace with squats. I am now more inclined to think its a muscular possibly ligament problem that just needs to be unstressed every now and then - I find laying flat on the floor and doing some yoga breathing exercises help. "Body in action" by Sarah Keys is a good read - no specific answer but a very good and easy read explaination of how themuscuular and sketetal systems interact or not.

Do you work on a computer?  Constantly hunched over or sit in the same position for a long time?  That is the only thing I can think of that would trigger this for me.  I try to remember to stretch or get up and walk around.  I will check out the Sarah Keys slut.  I do lay on my back on the floor and I can feel the crampiness (if that's a word) on my right side muscles in the back.  It's not a sore muscle pain from working out feeling and it is not a stabbing pain like a nerve.  I just know it sucks...lol.

I was not aware that Sarah Keys was a slut but I accept your knowledge in these matters
As for computer - it did occur to me that there may be a element of repeditive strain injury - the repetition not always being obviously close to the injury or soreness

Unfortunately, symptoms that overlap multiple causes make clinical and/or self-diagnosis difficult.
In this scenario, I'm leaning towards postural issues (although, I could be completely wrong). Spending an inordinate amount of time in any position can become problematic. As mentioned above, sitting at a computer for long periods can be a death sentence.

Fortunately, there is plenty of information you can research to help. Just Google "ergonomics."
You can find video tutorials and companies that make pro-ergonomic products specific to various lines of work.

When on an oral or tren... i need taurine or i get pumps, back cramps, muscle cramps, calves cramps, etc...

I take 15-20g~ ed lol... i buy in bulk powder and just mix in water.

Normally people recommend 10g ed when on oral but eh... just to be safe.. totally sucks to have a muscle cramp up on you while working out.. and oh yes back pumps when deadlifting...

Two-three years ago I had an abdominal cramp.. was working out abs... lets just say i dropped to the floor and was in pain for 5 minutes haha :D Never again, so taurine is king.

Also I read from pat arnold once it has something to do with the liver and how orals and tren affect it and deplete this substance... hence supplementing in it is necessary.

what do you mean? lol. Some ppl are not as prone to the cramps, i am naturally prone to cramps so getting on an oral is pretty crazy for me with cramps. I therefore take taurine like candy to take care of it haha. And tren is that one injectable that can cause issues like orals do, its not known as the most powerful injectable for no reason.
