In these days the truth was hidden, people who contradicted the official story were locked away and media made up fake stories.

i agree with you in general but ask any historian about the nature of egyptian villagers in those days and the nature of the british colonization and you will know this and much worse could happen.. i had a book about this incident and was full of details by historians and people who witnesses what happened..

I would of helped the villagers flog the soldiers.  But this story of corruption destroying the innocent and elevating itself is all around us in the present.

i totally agree.. aside of many big mistakes he did he was a real leader..

He did make a shitload of mistakes and was way too optimistic about Arabs getting united (which will never happen). But at the core, he knew you couldn't trust religious people and let them interfere in politics. That, he was right about.
