A cop who does Security on the side make big money. My buddy made $100 an hour sometimes depending on the event.

All jobs have worth and dignity. The only ones that should be ashamed are the ones taking from the tax payers with a government check when they should be working. Yes I'm talking to you two year unemployment check leeches and lazy ass phony social security disability check takers.

Also i dont know about where you live, but here security guards get paid good ammounts of money. My freinds dad makes 80 k a year, not bad for an immigrant

people do look down at security officers until they need that security officer to respond to their aid. I have a part time weekend job as a security officer. staff treat me like shit until they need me to escort someone off the property for them.

Enjoyment of your job is key. I worked as a security officer one summer in college it was easy and fun.

Nothing wrong with honest work. Not all people are smart enough to be neurosurgeons. As long as they are employed and not sucking the government teet they are alright by me

I did it when I was between 20 and 24 or so... I did it at an amusement park so it was pretty fun.
Hella' young chicks back then to mess with.
I wouldn't do it today, but that's not to say it's "pathetic".
I'd say that worrying about what someone else has going on in their life is much more troublesome than being a security guard.

Don't laugh....many of them will end up having police authority when the money starts to dry up.....Cities are increasingly finding it difficult to fund many police officers' lucrative paychecks and generous pension and healthcare funds.
