Post by: Benny B on April 22, 2013, 12:33:12 PM
Curtis Jackson broke into the music industry in 2002 and became the multiplatinum rapper 50 Cent. Today, he's also an entrepreneur and philanthropist. He talks with WSJ's Lee Hawkins about his latest ventures and whether he will become a billionaire.

and what does 50 do now?
a thug that has adapted to his environment...a from a thug on the streets to a thug on Wall Street...a corporate thug...
What you see here gentlemen is one who adapts to his environment...something many of these "jump out and stick up boys" need to learn ASAP.

thats an old video. i've seen it.

but his status is built upon his rap image, which has been destroyed by his "fuck boy" crush on floyd mayweather. 50 also starts beefs with guys he can't crush anymore (drake, rick ross) where he could in his prime with other rappers (ja rule, fat joe, gotti).

he took a different route for finance and all that but his name is his name, and it's not too relevant anymore.

he admits the whole game/50 beef was just to boost game's record sales (game's deal entitles 50 cent/dre to 50% of his album sales) and lift him out of 50's shadow

drake and 50 aren't really beefin, and Drake has the image that he is alway crying over a girl...
Officer Ricky, well he doesn't touch a real 50 beef, because he is trying to get to where 50 is...
And could be destroyed in one song talking about his weight and history...but, it's a business and at the end of the day, they eat at the same table..."beef" is just another word for "hype"....
People have learned from the Biggie/Tupac beef, so they only use it to sell albums/mix tapes, gain noteriety like Brian Pumper trying to get at Rick Ross, or Jay Z.

He made a genius move though in taking shares of Glaceau Vitamin Water instead of cash for his XXX drink.  Ended up making hundreds of millions in the sale to Coke.  It's the same luck as winning the Powerball but someone has to win eventually

Who cares if you've seen it before. The video is only 'old' if you consider a year and six months ago a long time.  ::)

If you pay attention, he has moved well beyond 'rap beefs' and has made entrepreneurial moves well beyond the largely knuckle-headed rappers you have mentioned.

'Jah Rule' is a non entity, and 'The Game' has become a pathetic joke who cannot produce a hit record now that he cannot ride on 50's coat tails.

This video is not so much about the music game, as much as what 50 is doing outside of the music genre.

lol, i like 50 but in that retarded kid from school that everyone was nice to way. he doesn't strike me as super smart judging from his interviews and lyrics. probably just hires good financial advisers.
