injection sites are not muscles

You guys gotta be more specific. No anatomy charts. The Rhomboids are an underlying muscle. Every once in a while a genetic freak might get them to pop out from under a rotator cuff muscle like the subscapularis.
What I'm looking for is for someone to name specifically #1 - #8.
It's not that I don't have a pretty good idea of all the muscles in our anatomy, I just want to see if someone has a strong opinion about certain muscles in this photo.
For example: Does anyone think that his Rhomboids are actually showing? How many times have you heard someone say "Oh look at those Rhomboids?" ~ read it in magazines?
This is what I'm getting at: "Structure[edit]
The rhomboid major arises from the spinous processes of the thoracic vertebrae T2 to T5 as well as the supraspinous ligament. It inserts on the medial border of the scapula, from about the level of the scapular spine to the scapula's inferior angle. [2]
Rhomboideus major muscle
The rhomboid major is considered a superficial back muscle. It is deep to the trapezius, and is located directly inferior to the rhomboid minor. As the word rhomboid suggests, the rhomboid major is diamond-shaped. The major in its name indicates that it is the larger of the two rhomboids."
Someone who really knows, tell it like it is. Educate me (us)
Which muscles are we *really* seeing on this guy?
I know we are seeing forearm flexors, extensors, radialis', posterior delts, spinal erectors, triceps heads, lateral delt heads, front delt heads, etc. etc. ~ but what are the muscles we are seeing that I numbered? More specifically, the ones to the sides of the upper and lower traps under the delts?

david henry
-
1 and 8 traps
3 and 4 lats
2 teres major
5 and 7 infraspinatus
6 not sure
-
Whatever 6 is Dave Henry has the thickest one out there normally it is basically a hollow space.
-
Number 5, 6 and 7 are the ones that are driving me nuts.
I know from anatomy that the larger of the two should be the subscapularis attachment. The smaller one though, I really can't say with any accuracy. You don't see it on every guy, even if he is shredded. It could be a bone protrusion from a rotator or the scapula, but I am just not sure....
Sucks, cuz I wanna know fo sho

6 is definitely rhomboid major

Negative.
Infraspinatus. Attaches to scapula bone.

Hmmm, I still say rhomboid. Infraspinatus would be DEEP to the rhomboids, not a superficial muscle. I think?

rhomboids are deep. hidden under trapetzius.
rhomboids attaches to the scapula also. pulls it in towards the spine.

Ok Ok I think you are correct sir. Nice work. 8)
Not so sound creepy, but I would love to look at a Bodybuilders body in a cadaver lab. The ones we studied in grad school were these little atrophied 90 year old females.

now give at least 3 exercises to bring out all aspects of each nuscle mentioned. ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

in before the Mayor.

maybe so but every bodybuilder and trainer refers to 6 as the Rhomboids, weird how they are anatomical wrong but hey, that is slang for rhomboids I guess :-\ , even the machines at the gym label this muscle (number 6) in red as the muscle being trained and call it the rhomboids.

1) Things that deadlifts & chins target.
2) See #1

Gotta love anatomy ~ I too would love to see.. well, not a cadaver, but if it were possible, I'd like to see a fully developed bodybuilders physique with no skin.
Some of these guys today get pretty close. I wish I could find pics of Abdullah Haykutluh (spelling???) nobody seems to remember him and I can't find shit on the web. He was the most shredded bodybuilder I have ever seen in person. Standing next to him seeing all the cross-striations and rippling effect is just sick.
So... are we settled on what that muscle is?
#6 is the infraspinatus? One of the four rotator cuff muscles.. yes?
-
Sorry, #5 and #6 are both the same muscle, right? Just split up like the chest and the traps, but still one muscle....
-
This brings flash backs to one kinesiology class i took as an elective.
-
theres no such thing as outer/inner chest
-
Many muscles appear to be more than just one muscle thanks to striations and tendinous separations ~
