No exactly sure this year. Currently, about 700+ competitors are going to compete.

This is the first year in a long time in which I find it difficult to take or make an accurate guess regarding the eventual winners.
Any competitor list published yet?
This weekend's NPC Los Angeles winners could prove to be the major USA threats though.

Top two overall only?
All Men’s Bodybuilding Class winners (7) are eligible for IFBB pro cards. The top 2 Female Bodybuilding Champions are eligible
for IFBB pro status. The top 2 class winners in the each of Height Classes in the Women's Figure and Bikini Classes, and the
top 2 in winners in each Men’s & Women’s Physique Height Class will be eligible for IFBB professional status.

PREJUDGING TODAY (FRIDAY) AT NOON .....
Men's Bodybuilding
Bikini
Women's Physique
Ron will most likely have some prejudging photos posted later on this evening.
With 800+ contenders, he's gonna be very busy. Ditto for MUSCLECENTER as you can already see!
I've only run into Eric Yamashita of Hawaii (Lt. WT.???) and I'll be surprised if he doesn't get his PRO CARD this time out. He won his class at last weekend's NPC L.A. contest last weekend ... and it will be interesting to see how the other L.A. weight class winners do this year.
Many new contenders appearing on stage this year and no one seems to have any idea who will be the eventual winners.
Tomorrow (Sat) the prejudging starts at 0900 (Figure / Men's Physique / Women's Bodybuilding) ..... followed by the finals at 1700 (5:00 PM) but it will be amazing if the judges can get all the prejudging done in time to take a break for dinner.
I think that the total number of contestants will come to something close to 900 ..... which will set a new record for an NPC national contest.

UNOFFICIAL COMMENTARY ON THE NPC USA MEN'S BODYBUILDING CHAMPIONSHIPS (PREJUDGING)
The USA men's bodybuilding prejudging kicked off at 12:03 PM this afternoon and was completed at 3:45 PM. (Less than three (3) hours).
A commendable feat considering the fact the this event consisted of 135 contenders within seven (7) separate weight divisions as shown below:
Bantam-wts., 143 1/4 and below: 16 contenders competing for one IFBB Pro Card. Even though this was the lightest group being contested, it turned out to be one of the most overall impressive. I could be mistaken but watch for Richie Langet for the win, but Eric Yamashita seemed to have the crowd on his side
Light-wts., Over 143 1/4 to and including 145 1/4: 18 contenders competing for one IFBB Pro Card. The 'bald, stocky contender should win this one.
(Sorry but the names are no announced during the prejudging.)
Welter-wts., Over 154 1/4 up to and including 165 1/4: 17 contenders competing for one IFBB Pro Card. The last contender in the lineup on the left should win this one ... and I'd give him a good shot at the overall, but a damn near impossibility for a welter.
Middle-wts,. Over 165 1/4 up to and including 176 1/4: 15 contenders competing for one IFBB Pro Card. This one should turn out to be the most difficult and most contested 'call' in the contest. The first place finisher and the second place finisher are both great contenders but completely different. I think the pictures will prove that well enough.
Lightheavy-wts., Over 176 1/4 up to and including 198 1/4: 28 contenders competing for one IFBB Pro Card. For some reason this class as a whole did not appear as impressive as the lighter weight classes.
At this point I starting shooting photos and failed to give any consideration to the top two placings.
Heavy-wts., Over 198 1/4 up to and including 225 1/4: 22 contenders competing for one IFBB Pro Card.
Super-heavies, Over 225 1/4: 17 contenders competing for one IFBB Pro Card. I always walk away thinking that the super-heavy contenders could do better if they each competed 10 pounds lighter.
135 contenders for 7 Pro Cards........
And then what??
