The system does make it easier for them. I don't feel responsible for that as of right now, working, earning your money is almost an act of resistance. I'm an immigrant too even though I was born on French soil. Except my parents didn't come here to milk the system. They didn't need to at first and when they could have done it, guess what, they started working even harder. Comes down to your education too. But here, the system wants people to be dependent on it. Future voters themselves or their children at some point. Today's generation don't owe shit for what their parents or grand parents or whoever has done. And you can't collect your ancestors outstanding debts either. Passing that kind of torch is a sure way to hit the wall full speed.

If the kids didn't get citizenship and automatic benefits (the cost of which is 40K+ each a year) then it would be all good. Unfortunately the cost of raising the kids totally offsets the benefit of cheap labor but the rich people get subsidized maids and corporations get tax subsidized cheap labor.
As someone else mentioned those same kids grow up with their parents educational attainment level, but not their work ethic. So you end up with millions of young people with HS education at best but the entitled American mentality of not wanting to work hard
and this is the group that will save SS, according to the idiots in charge.

Exactly what does bringing in a million plus legal and illegal immigrants, the vast majority of which are unskilled and uneducated, do for our nation?
- Increased stresses on our power grid, forcing us to burn more fossil fuels/deplete more fresh water/increased nuclear waste.
- More fresh water usage, especially throughout the SW. Cities such as Phoenix and Las Vegas are facing severe water shortages.
- Hospitals going bankrupt as persons without insurance are getting treated for free...Doctors and hospitals not getting compemsation for services rendered.
- Drastic demographic changes (which ALWAYS result in mass violence) bring increased crime rates and create large swathes of blight within our cities (as if predominantly black communities arent enough).
- Where is the demand for low wage, low-skilled labor? There isnt any.
- Increased taxes along the board.....more stresses on roadways, public welfare systems, and healthcare. Prepare for 5$ plus prices for gasoline due to tax increases, skyrocketing insurance premiums that will be out of reach for the middle class, and tens of millions more receiving government subsidies.
- More pollution, more crime, bigger divisions of rich and poor, exportation of middle class jobs, less freedoms.....this is what politicians advocating increased immigration and/or amnesty propose to Americans.
Both liberals and conservatives are ignorant of the issue, or do not pay heed to the issue as they each hold to their belief that pandering to a Spansih-speaking populace will net them votes.

Doesn't really do much except give the left more voting power for the next election. They already said it's okay for Illegals to vote so why not drivers licenses as well. Half of those are jobs that high school kids do. The others could easily be filled by other AMERICANS who are struggling to find work. There is a MISPLACED demand for it. Meatpacking is skilled labor....it takes many months of training alone to be able to consistently separate a cow's four stomachs from the rest of its body, possibly contaminating the meat if failing to do so. Meat cutting provided many middle-class wages to hundreds of thousands of people.
Since when has agriculture alone been unaffected by technological advances? Pineapples in Hawaii used to be picked by hundreds of Filipinos in the field....now a machine does it. The US does NOT need millions more unskilled laborers picking beans.
Fast food is an industry that does NOT need migrant workers as these jobs can be filled easily enough by students, the jobless, and ex convicts. There are more students per capita out of work then there have been before because 50 year old Jose and Jorge "seek a better life."
The low wage jobs are nowhere near in number enough to warrant hundreds of thousands of illegal hordes pouring over into our borders.

They are hard working honest people for the most part. They fled because of crime and to make a better life. So many in New Jersey are church going people working long hours at manual labor that the average x box players wouldn't touch.
Regarding the driver's license every state has different laws with some having between reciprocity states. What happens in a lot of states is you have an illegal Mexican driving without a license with no identification what so ever. The local court doesn't want to put them in jail with bond because of a driving infraction like speeding. Naturally like I stated before different states and even different towns have their own policy. So this is the scenario. A cop pulls over a Mexican for speeding and not having a license. His dispatch calls he local court clerk. Either by policy or direct communications with the judge they don't want to jail the guy for speeding. They tell the cop to issue the ticket to what every name and address the Mexican provides. The Mexican flips the ticket on the ground as soon as the cop leaves knowing he gave a completely fictitious identity. Now if you provide a false identity as an American you will be charged with a form of hindering apprehension of course worded according to your state laws. It should be universal in this country if a foreign national is driving without identification he will be put in jail and have to pay bond to get our according to the amount of tickets received.
This leaves us should Mexicans have some kind of driver's license or an American identification card. The knee jerk reaction will be this is completely fucked up giving a Mexican a license. In review of all possible outcomes it makes sense and I will explain. First Mexicans will see it as a preliminary step toward establishing a recorded time span in America toward citizenship so many will want it. Second they will be held more accountable for driving infractions especially if the second part of the equation is jail and bond for not having a license is enforced.

In MD, we have a large El Salvadorian population, and yes a MS-13 problem. And they of course hate Mexicans...but, many times people refer to them as Mexicans...like to some, every Asian is Chinese.
You'd be surprised at the amount of people who come thru borders illegally who are not Mexican. You have El Salvadorians, Guatamalans, Hondorans, Costa Ricans, etc.
And speaking of Canadians, yes, there are tons of those as well.
Speaking about the license issue, the politicians want the money that will initially flow they the DMV and the state, then the votes---money for campaigning.

Depends...are there a lot of Mexicans who are illegal? Yes, but it's just a blanket term that Gringoes (we Americans) use to refer to a lot of Latinos. Because if you ask some of these "Mexicans", you'll find that many are of Central American origin, meaning not Mexican. Many are cultural similar, but we as Americans just want to assume, and don't want to figure it out, so just lump everyone together.
I've seen it where a person told a person from PR to go back to Mexico. There is a high level of ignorance amongst Americans---English speakers.

Approximately $54 million in welfare payments are issued each month, consisting of nearly $20 million in CalWORKs and $34 million in food stamp issuances, according to the data.
An estimated 100,000 children of 60,000 undocumented parents receive aid in Los Angeles County, according to Antonovich, who said this year’s projections — up about $1 million from the nearly $53 million in total benefits issued in July 2012 — underscore the economic impact of the nation’s immigration debate.
“When you add the $550 million for public safety and nearly $500 million for healthcare, the total cost for illegal immigrants to county taxpayers exceeds $1.6 billion dollars a year,” Antonovich said in a statement. “These costs do not even include the hundreds of millions of dollars spent annually for education.”

And big business is profit driven and international in scope. The people who run these corporations could care less if your hometown turns into Tijuana.

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A projected $650 million in welfare benefits will be distributed to illegal alien parents in 2013, county officials said Monday.
Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich announced the latest figures from the Department of Public Social Services, which showed more than $376 million in CalWORKs benefits and food stamps combined have been distribsuted through July to illegal alien parents for their native-born children.
Approximately $54 million in welfare payments are issued each month, consisting of nearly $20 million in CalWORKs and $34 million in food stamp issuances, according to the data.
An estimated 100,000 children of 60,000 undocumented parents receive aid in Los Angeles County, according to Antonovich, who said this year’s projections — up about $1 million from the nearly $53 million in total benefits issued in July 2012 — underscore the economic impact of the nation’s immigration debate.
“When you add the $550 million for public safety and nearly $500 million for healthcare, the total cost for illegal immigrants to county taxpayers exceeds $1.6 billion dollars a year,” Antonovich said in a statement. “These costs do not even include the hundreds of millions of dollars spent annually for education.”

got to love the double standard, anyone else with an illegal 'recorded time span in America' gets deported and isn't allowed to re-enter the US (even as a tourist) for 10 years. But for these guys it's a positive thing to count towards their fast-track citizenship.
meanwhile the hard working, legal, engineer from Shanghai or the research chemist from Denmark who've done everything legally and waited years for their residence visa have to wait another decade while the guys who hang outside home depot get priority processing.

Ps, look up the amount of hospitals closed down due to illegals who have put a massive strain on the health system as well as the likelihood of them being involved in car collisions whilst driving under the influence.....yeh, allowing millions of undocumented people into a country always works out for the best ::)

Laws are laws, if you get caught you should be punished, not rewarded with amnesty/licensing. Can you imagine them catching someone with steroids and instead of arresting him buying him some weights for home?
This would absolutely be a reward. A reward in that I'm paying insurance premiums and they won't be, and just like ACA my rates will go up due to uninsured claims.
No citizenship = no tax or liability but a license, govt bennies and likely the right to vote.
