Title: The Natural Training Thread
Post by: Wolfox on October 09, 2013, 03:13:38 AM
How do you train differently than our juiced counterparts?
What are your do's and donts?

Probably the biggest difference in training ive seen and experienced as a natural is how nattys heavily depend on progressive overloading and heavy weight for growth moreso than when compared to enhanced bbers. You can often spot naturals by their p4p strength. You wont find too many well built nattys doing light weight high reps.

the difference is on juice you get results that are visible to other people

natural you get results that only you feel are there or none at all depending on your level of self delusion

Some of the thing i found in years of trial and error

Finding the volume that works for you, too little is as unproductive as to much.

Deloading every 4 to 6 weeks, a natural will burn out after too many progressive workouts.

Strength gains are important but not at the expense of form or adequate volume.

Progressive overload. Doesn't matter if it's set of 4 or sets of 20 as long as you are getting stronger using good form.

Lifting no more than 3-4 days a week. I actually remember a younger guy at my old gym who only went Monday and Thursday and had some very good progress. I personally prefer 3 days per week but I had good  results with 4 as well.

forgetting sub 8 bf and eating lots when lifting heavy....realizing that juiced will look bigger/better but like fake tits, will deflate someday and look like shit.

There are polygraph tested naturals that are far bigger and leaner than many enhanced gym rats and competitors.

I know high school kids with more muscle mass than you.

This is the only reply you will receive in this thread.

Hope this helps.

naturals cant build muscles

so the only thing they CAN do is delude themselves by lifting "heavy" weights for low reps and thereby getting increased neuromuscular efficiency and getting better at that lift (squat bench dead)

then they are there grinding out 2.5 plate benches for 3-5 reps feeling like they accomplishing something over "the big bad juicers who are only doing the same weight for a couple more reps ha ha ha"

their perception of bodybuilding reality is totally fucked up and they wonder why people never comment on their "gains" in real life

You sound bitter. Sorry the whole natural route didn't work out for you. At least with gear you finally became that shredded 240lb monster with 20" arms you always wanted to be.

WHAT'S WRONG WITH BEING NATURAL AND LIFTING MORE THAN A STEROID USER? BODYBUILDING ISN'T EVEN A SPORT. IT'S BETTER TO BE NATURAL AND LIFT MORE THAN A JUICED UP LAZY STEROID FUCK. ALSO, YOU'RE COMPLETELY WRONG ON THE NEUROMUSUCLAR EFFICIENCY CRAP. THE NEURO SHIT ONLY HAPPENS WITHIN THE FIRST COUPLE OF MONTHS OF TRAINING AND AFTER THAT ANY INCREASE IN STRENGTH HAS TO COME FROM AN INCREASE IN MUSCLE MASS.

you guys should leave the squabbling for the G&O... i'd also suggest that promoting steroid use should be kept on the roid board

drug addiction is nothing to glorify... if it makes you happy then do it (i certainly enjoy alcohol, caffeine and thc) but don't pretend like their use is the only way to live a life

Train consistant and be intelligent. I think for us natty guys you can still grow on a 5 day split. I have trained on this and gained also with a fair volume of cardio. If we are talking a guy who is a hardgainer then this is another matter. Abbreviated workouts are better. Solid short workouts with Basics..ala BRAWN

so you are saying 5x5 does not work? listen i have been around the block. If your Body reacts to volume,supersets...then do it. Stuart mcRobert hit the nail on the head in BRAWN. I have trained with both volume and abbrievated workouts. I think you can alternate both...i do.

it works really great for deluding yourself into thinking getting some more kilos on low rep ego lifts is accomplishing significant muscle growth

for bodybuilding purposes however it's pointless

steroids are a basic necessity to build muscle mass

AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA oh man

You fucking idiot that's why there are weight classes in powerlifting and olympic weightlifting. More muscle mass lifts more weight. There is a limit to how much weight you can lift depending on your mass.

Anabolichalo, have you ever considered the very unlikely possiblity that the reason you didn't get very much out of training naturally is because you have absolutely no fucking idea what you are doing.

I know this is very unlikely since other areas of your life are extremely successfull. Surely if you applied the same efforts and logic into your natural training endeavors success would be almost certain. I know that this idea is improbable but still may have to be considered despite it's absurdity.

I'll throw in my 2 cents with 40 years of training natural. When you have a few years of training in it's important to try to get stronger. Muscles get bigger though for a lack of a better term muscular endurance training. If getting stronger was the magic bullet we would all warm up and train for sets of under 3 reps.

I think a the majority of your training should be volume training with 6 to 12 reps. Most sets are not to failure except on your last set. So you might pick 3 to 4 exercises per body part and do 4 to 6 sets. Short rest between sets. Your last set you should fail at your rep goal. Set one should feel moderate exertion. This is muscular endurance training.

Part of your training year should be devoted to low volume doing 3 sets and even 1 work set per exercise not counting warm up sets. The two polar opposite styles of training will work on increasing strength at one period of a training cycle and the other will increase muscular endurance. To many people use use one style or the other. I say use both.
