Conservative view point:
"Work hard, save & invest, retire and relax/enjoy the fruits of your hard work"
Liberal view point:
"Why should I have to work hard? The guy described above me already has so much money he doesn't have to work anymore. That's not fair."
Libertarian view point:
"Government buts out, and you do what you want as long as you don't hurt anyone else."

You forget the biggest difference. Saying what you believe. Like them or not, conservatives put it out there.
Don't like gays...
Don't like welfare...
Like gun rights...
Etc.
Liberals CANT say what they really believe or they'd never get elected.
Can't say they are for redistribution when they are...
Can't say they hate the military when they do...
Can't say hate religion even though they do...
The list goes on.
This is why super hippy to free free lefties run to the middle together elected and this is not even disputable.

The Left will be put down in mass bayonettings in the streets soon

Conservatives like george W? To me it looked like he got handed everything and took his spoiled fucking attitude to the white house and drank up all the kool-aid, then Obama is black and no kool-aid= syria.
-
W was not a conservative. Hope this helps.

Libs think ALL republicans are conservative.

I think you should add the libertarian view point.
Government buts out, and you do what you want as long as you don't hurt anyone else

That's easy... Leave me the fuck alone.
Biotches.
And this is my view.

George W was about as far from conservative as you can be. I know you're Canadian, but you should still be able to google the definition of words like "conservative" if you're not sure what they mean

Yes, the best philosophy and the only one that makes complete rational sense and is perfectly fair.

I've always preferred the method of throwing them all in a ditch and blasting away with a machine gun but yeah I'm down with that too.
-
If you guys continue playing into the hands of this false construct of a LEFT/RIGHT paradigm designed to distract you and keep you fighting amongst yourselves, you'll never figure out who your real enemy is, and you'll all end up blasted in ditches, and bayoneted in the streets. There are already FEMA coffins stacked up with your names on them, and they're not red or blue. WAKE UP!

Sucky, there are no conservatives.

Yes he was

What's with some young peeps who 'convert' to conservative ideologies and look back at their 'liberal' counterparts with disdain? There's a few examples of this on getbig... it's a strange psychological phenomenon ???

Thomas Sowell and Charles Krauthammer are 2 big name examples of this phenomenon.

That's easy... Ever look at old pictures of clothes you used to wear and say WTF was I doing? Same thing...
And Mohammed was a pedo.

Agreed - and as long as the dems are giving handouts to the middle class, they will keep winning presidential elections.
How do repubs change it? Half the repubs are that middle-ground, 'moderates' that'll just be a watered down handout version. Only a cruz or rand will change it - and the party railroads them every time. Ron Paul getting dissed at the convention 'for the good of the party" for example. At the time, SOME getbiggers actually supported it to unite the party.

That's the thing that so many people don't get... there are no handouts for the middle class.
You're living in a plutocracy. There are handouts for the very poor, and the very rich, but not for the middle class. The handouts given to the very poor, are for the benefit of the very rich, ...while the middle class is grinded between the millstones of taxation & confiscation. Neither Cruz nor Rand will change anything.
-
Subsidies and other govt handouts for some things are actually starting to extend to those making upper 5 figures in some cases - well beyond income "poverty" levels.

That helps the middle class?
-
That helps the middle class?
Nope.
In fact I don't think it actually "helps" anyone but Big Govt. Low income people and others without coverage have always been able to get medical care one way or another, and of course we're seeing what the ACA is doing to everyone else...
But the ACA is apparently supposed to provide subsidies to some well above the poverty line.
Big govt would certainly love it if no one had any real wealth and EVERYONE was dependent upon them for some form of subsidy just to get by.
-
Nope.

OK so if it doesn't help the middle class......

Still waiting for an answer

Obamacare.
I think where we differ is on the idea of whether "subsidies" actually "help" those who get them.

It seems like you are contradicting yourself.

I guess what we're dealing with here is a failure to communicate? ;D
I think Obamacare is a bad idea and a Big govt power play.
I think the only people who should get subsidies are those who absolutely need them, and only for necessities.
I don't think people making mid or upper 5 figures should be getting the subsidies Obamacare is apparently going to give some of them.
Big govt seems to want to give away more and more stuff to more and more people - if people can vote free stuff themselves, they probably will. They probably won't vote for the other guy who tells them the country can't afford to give so many of them so much free stuff.
Maybe i am misunderstanding you.

Sorry, I'm not gonna read all 2000+ pages again to try to make a point on a message board. ;D
Someone who was a guest on one of the news shows whose household grosses something like $80-90k pointed out that they were getting some $ out of it. They explained it, but I didn't take notes or anything. It's probably something that can be googled - I'll see if I can find it when I have more time.
