so I got bit by a black widow like 6 months ago (or so, I forget now), ended up in the ER and got it drained/cut and packed full of that string-gauze stuff.. put on I think Keflex (and Norco and valium. lol).
well, I never thought the thing healed completely (it's on my hip area, not near an injection site.. closer to the quad than the glute).
now, about 1/2" to the side of the big purple scar I have where the hole is/was (I could've set a stack of dimes in that hole), I have another "thing" that looks just like how the first infection/bite started... same look, same feel.
is it possible the doc didn't squeeze out all the toxin/puss and it's just festered for 6months? or did I just pick up some MRSA/staph?
anybody had this happen?

Dunno. But I had experience with a infected ingrown hair healing over too soon on the outside...leaving pus and shit inside. It spread and created other pimples when I tried to pop it while the outer skin was healed over. It spread from underneath the skin.
Just throwing this out... but maybe lay off the gh for a bit? It can make you heal too fast.
And yeah, reoccuring abscesses are quite common. Especially in around the same spot.

This isn't the G&O. You either need to contribute to the topic or stop sucking my asshole. Either one. Just do it.

You're talking about an ingrown hair
You post in every thread about some retarded anecdote that has little to do with the subject on hand. You're like a fucking shadow, kill yourself

Ingrown hairs can get infected and turn into an abscesses, you nincompoop.
Ever see Ronald Winky Wright's ingrown vs Trinidad? My shit looked like that but it was on the back of my neck.
Speaking of shadows, you've been following me around like you're my little bitch. Keep it up and you will be dealt with by the mods...I'm not gonna rat you out for being a fagget here but you need to know this is NOT the G&O... HAVE SOME RESPECT you little bitch.

it happened to me years ago. never knew what caused the abcess but one month later after it was cleaned by the doctor, the abcess appeared again not in the same place but very near. The doctor said it was normal, called it: "recidivation" or "relapse" (i think this is the right translation in english) when the infection remains latent in some tissues and appears again, usually with no so strength than before.

Infected again after 6 months of it being drained? Are you just starting to feel it come back now? If the doctor didn't get rid of all of the infection it would have returned much sooner then 6 months IMO... That's weird bro

Get a big bottle of garlic pill capsules preferably the now brand and start taking about 20 a day it will relieve the abscess. Ive used this for strep and staff

i'll lose the abcess, but i'll also lose about a dozen clients from stinking like garlic!
I think i'll just head back to the ER and get a script for more Keflex, Norco, and valium.... actually, I could care less about the valium.

if I where you I would ask the doctor about it. I'm sure it isn't a unusual thing for that to happen. I got bit by a black widow or a brown recluse when I was younger. It fucking sucked I was sick for about 3 months straight I slept about 18 hours a day and was dead tired. Lol I imagine the steroids probably gave you a little bit more energy while you were sick with the bite. I would just see if you need to get it drained or start with more antibiotics...... Lol me personally I would take the spare stash of valium if I could get it. You never know when something bad is going to happen and you will wish you had some to relax.

You need a course of antibiotics. Three to four weeks should do it. Apply hot compresses to the area twice daily. Generally a cephalosporin or penicillin derivative like amoxicillin.
Your body will wall of these areas especially with hemotoxins like the recluse spider bites.

What's good for the guys that die if they take penicillin?

I've got no answer for you or advice to suggest, but I hope you have some photos of that bite to share. Would love to see it and how long from the time you were bitten until you sought treatment for it? A hole big enough for a stack of dimes would have required some length of time to develop wouldn't it??

I gotta figure out how to get the pics from my phone to my harddrive.
also, I'm hesitant to post pics from my phone to getbig because of the ability to "pinpoint" my location by the pics. I dunno how it works. lol... but in the biz im in, it's not a good idea to have anybody know where I am. lol

just go get it checked out. Is it flat or does it still feel like it has puss in it?

it feels sorta how the first one started, but it's not progressing as quickly as the other one did.
i'll give it another week.. I may go to the ER on Friday night after work. 50/50 chance.

Fuck man, I want to see this gross shit. Answer my other question as well.

Generally the keflex works. Less than 8% of those allergic to pcn have a carryover to keflex.

I've taken erythromycin plenty times before. Worked for my acne
You think that would be OK?

I like the levoflaxin. Levoflaxin is a all purpose anti-biotic it is used for all sorts of infections including abcess's, Cellulitis. It is fucking expensive though. I got 15 tabs and it was 220$ without insurance. luckily my meds are covered and I payed 12$ for it. It worked great for me.

Well I looked it up and generics are going to cost $5 for 30 tabs of the 250mg from an online pharmacy.
Of course, I will have a prescription for this ::)

Would not be my first choice. Levaquin would my next choice. Once daily for 14 days.
