men don't like the olympics

no surprise a woman started this thread, the olympics are the only time women truly care about sports

Pussy Riot were beaten ahead of a planned protest in Sochi

Footage shows members of the band, which became famous after performing a protest song in a church against President Vladimir Putin, being beaten.

Police questioned witnesses, but no-one was arrested.

Two band members were arrested on suspicion of theft at Sochi, but later released.

The footage shows Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina, who both served prison sentences for their Moscow church performance, being attacked along with other band members.

A Cossack appears to spray a substance in the face of one of the band members, who were wearing ski-masks.

An officer with a whip then proceeds to attack the band members along with a man with a camera.

Other Cossacks then jump in, punching the band members and throwing them to the floor.

The group has been fiercely critical of President Putin, who has been the main driving force behind the Sochi Games.

Na, sorry but I must disagree with you...

me grandad played for Liverpool Football Club, so I'm biased.  I'm born into a sporting family.  I adore sports, football especially (soccer to you).  I also pant about tennis in the summer, I go mental when there's tennis on.  Please don't say women don't appreciate sportsmen.

xxxLinda in London England...

I lived in Canada for 17 years and whilst there, of course I watched the hockey.  I went to see the Toronto Maple Leafs umpteen times.
The guy I was living with at the time liked that so I did too.  I had no idea what was going on, it all happened too fast.  My theory is if you can't beat 'em join them.  Enjoy watching fit men.

Everyone I know enjoys talking about sports.  I probably know more than you do about the sports I thoroughly enjoy.  Goodness there was a footie game on telly last night which was amazing.

I don't get the double luge though.  That's just mad.
