There reporting that before cm punk walked out..
they had offer Steve Austin a lot of cash $$$
To work 1 last match with cm punk at wrestlemania 31
with a 1 year buildup to get the match a lot of attention ..
They said that Austin was considering the offer / idea but didn't get a chance to say yes or no
because cm punk quit the wwe.

I'd be pissed if I was a share holder. Having someone like Austin should be advertised in advance to increase buy rates! At least hint at or leak it.
I guess if the vast majority of PPV customers eventually trend towards the network, buy rates won't matter nearly as much, but right now I think they are still an important factor.

I'd love to see Austin back in the ring, especially against Punk, but I think there's more chance of Shane O'Mac returning and defeating the Streak...
Austin in any way, shape or form would be a massive plus to any PPV/show, and something I'd like to see. I've never understood why we never see him any more, when Rock / Brock / Piper / Foley / Jericho / etc, are making appearances, some regular, some not so much. We've even had Edge back a couple of times since his retirement.

He's been very outspoken on his podcast that he doesn't like doing that.

Austin has said on his podcast, it took quite some time to get competing out of his system and will not be coming back.
But of course never say never!

I'd be amazed if Stone Cold came back for a match. He has always been adamant about not returning and he seems to be happy away from the ring. In some ways I'd prefer not to see it, his last match with Rock at Mania 19 was over ten years ago now and the fact that we have never seen him compete since has really added to just how good he was during his career. The lasting impression fans have of Austin was of him during his prime. When I think of Flair, Hogan and even Rock their more recent stuff comes to mind and it takes away from their best years.

When Vince would have the belt change hands every couple months/wks that was when the WWE had my attention. Ya didn't know who was going to win the belt at the PPV or monday night.

Punk was banged up and has been for a while and I agree with the earlier post about Punk possibly interfering in a WM match and how awesome would that be?
