Title: WEHT Jim Haislop?
Post by: pecster on January 20, 2006, 02:53:17 PM
My interest in bodybuilding began when I saw the September 1968 volume of "Muscular Development" with Haislop in all his glory on the cover.  He was big news for a few years around the late 60s, but he seemed to disappear around 1970.  Does anyone know what happened or where he is today?

Good question, Pec. Jim was definitely an up and comer from the Florida area, but I believe he passed away in the early 70's although I do forget the details.

Haven't got the time right now but plan to check him out on MuscleMemory.com.

Another young star from Florida recently passed away. Mike someone, I believe. I'll go more into that soon too.

Thanks

No Jim is alive and well, in the Tampa Bay area I believe. He joined Ironage last May but hasn't posted as of yet.

Well my apologizes to all concerned then.

I called a good friend who was competitive in that area in those days and he informs me that I am confusing Haislop with Gene Massey.

Here again I hate to start rumors but it was Gene who passed away in a car wreck in Florida in the 70's and not Jim.

Sorry, Jim.
