THis has not been confirmed yet. Up here in Vancouver BC territory, Rock 101 reported that it is a rumor at this point(they are waiting to hear from the band). the band is scheduled to record new album in Vancouver in just a couple of weeks.

Not much I would pay to see live these days... always had an anchor on Manowar for some reasons... Metallica would be pretty bad assesque. Had a crush on Yngwie Malmsteen (if that's even his real name) as a teen but a cool "road show" enjoyed by all 60 of us in Concord, CA in 2005 kinda put things back in perspective. ;D

I saw them live twice and they're actually more fun live then on record. It's just that their music hits the stomach and not the brain. They've pretty much re-recorded the same album again and again since the beginning with some variation in quality. The Bon Scott era was good and Back In Black was ok. I can't understand how someone would have all their records.

I was listening to Def Leppard long before I was into AC/DC only because my dad preferred them but I've got to say that Def Leppard peaked with Hysteria in 87. Adrenalize wasn't a bad album either but after that they just started looking stupid, like a bunch of old men trying too hard to be hip and trendy.
Black Ice was an awesome album, in my opinion possibly one of their best and shows that AC/DC have far better longevity than Def Leppard or most other rock bands for that matter.
Either way, I still like both in their own way.

Yes true, Hysteria was very much a pop album, Pyromania was probably semi-rock and you could tell they were starting to sell out to commercialism at that point. High & Dry and On Through the Night were proper old-school rock albums.

Perhaps he helped arrange stuff in the studio as it's common when bands don't have control in the studio, but wrote? Don't think so. Song writing credits are where the money is...or used to be. No credits for Mr. Lange save for these. Wealthy or not, I'm sure he would've liked song writing royalties for 10's of millions of albums sold + radio play etc.

Def Leppard will always have two RIAA Diamond Awards compared to AC/DC's one. There's only two things you can do about that and that's like it or lump it. ;D

It proves I'm not alone in my thinking that they are hugely overrated. Like I said in my first post, as a rock fan I like a lot of their songs and I own all their albums, but come on, be honest, they are not among the top 20 best bands of all time. Like many other bands, their music lacks variation.

ac/dc stomps def leppard, but that's just my opinion. ac/dc`s best years were with Bonn as the front man, he had the right attitude and the music was high energy. That's the best part of ac/dc, some of their tunes can flat out get your blood moving.

Just been reading up about Bon Scott. Had no idea that he died just a few minutes drive from where I live and that his body was taken to the hospital where I was born.

I was hooked on Let There be Rock in 1982 I remember that as it was yesterday. And after that had a few albums but Let There be Rock was the best their album in my opinion.
One of the top 5 bands of all time.

Something this pure will live on forever and nothing will be able to take its place in history. Even with the newest forms of technology can you not create something that can not be learned or bought.
But if you are very lucky, sometimes you can find it ! Its called: Talent

A fan had written on the pavement "Acca Dacca Forever" and there were a couple of pictures of him with messages attached to a nearby fence. Coincidentally, my dad's late cousin lived directly opposite the spot.
