Title: Critique My Diet
Post by: Eulogy on April 27, 2014, 12:28:29 PM
Hey folks,

I am going looking to shed approximately 20 pounds by August. Currently I am 210, approx. 15% body fat (can see abs). I just had shoulder surgery, so I cannot workout for 6-8 weeks, although I can do cardio. I'm open to any input.

Meal 1:
Whole Eggs (4)
Black Diamond Mozzarella Cheese (30g)
Organic Coconut Oil (1 Tbsp.)
Life Smooth Texture Fiber (1 Tbsp.)
Calories 580.00, Fat: 42.00, Carbs: 22.40, Fiber: 10.20, Protein: 32.00

Meal 2:
Selection Quarter Pound Beef Burger (2)
Arctic Gardens San Fran Vegetables (85g)
Calories: 485, Fat: 32, Carbs: 11, Fiber: 6, Protein: 38

Meal 3:
Chicken Breast (125g)
Selection Light Caesar Dressing (45ml)
Dole Spring Mix (72g)
Almonds (25g)
Calories: 480, Fat: 24.01, Carbs: 16.50, Fiber: 5.50, Protein: 48.22

Meal 4:
Sirloin Tip Roast (200g)
Arctic Gardens San Fran Vegetables (85g)
Almonds (25g)
Life Smooth Texture Fiber (1 Tbsp.)
Calories: 615, Fat: 30.21, Carbs: 26.90, Fiber: 15.70, Protein: 60.91

Daily Totals - Calories: 2177.62, Fat: 128.21g, Carbs: 76.80g (Net Carbs: 39.40g), Fiber: 37.40g, Protein: 179.13g

Prior to my shoulder surgery, based upon my activity level I had a maintenance caloric intake of 3100. However as I won't be working out whatsoever, I'm not sure how dramatically I should adjust my maintenance level. I imagine that 2700ish would probably be my new maintenance level, given that I will still do daily cardio. If anyone feels it should be different (or my calories lowered/adjusted) please input!

The burgers for Meal 2 are an inexpensive alternative to making my own, and money is a bit tight due to my shoulder surgery prohibiting me from working for a while.

Thanks folks.

Cheers.

i would ditch the cheese and the caesar dressing... not sure about the value of very low calories after surgery... i'd worry more about getting quality calories and would aim to eat more like 2500-2700 based on your description of weight-BF%...

You will do fine on this. Calories are low enough and you meet protein needs.
