(CNN) -- Who needs Fourth of July fireworks when you have Joan Rivers around?
The comedian known for her lack of self-censoring recently officiated a same-sex wedding and was asked by a photographer if she believed the United States would ever see the first gay or female president. Her response was typical Rivers.
"We already have it with Obama, so let's just calm down," she said. "You know Michelle (Obama) is a trans."
When asked to further explain Rivers said, "A transgender. We all know it."

A representative for Rivers released the following statement to CNN from the comic about her remarks to the photographer:
"I think it's a compliment. She's so attractive, tall, with a beautiful body, great face, does great makeup. Take a look and go back to La Cage Au Follies (sic). The most gorgeous women are transgender. Stop it already ... and if you want to talk about 'politically correct,' I think this is a 'politically incorrect' attack on me because I'm old, Jewish, a woman and a 'hetty' -- a heteosexual ... and I plan to sue the reporter who, when he turned off his camera, tried to touch me inappropriately on the a** - luckily he hit my ankle. Read the book ... if you think that's silly, wait to (sic) you see what I say about FDR and Eleanor!"
Rivers is no stranger to controversy. In March 2013 she refused to apologize for a joke she made about the dress "Project Runway" host Heidi Klum wore to the Academy Awards.
"The last time a German looked this hot was when they were pushing Jews into the ovens," Rivers said while appearing on the E! channel's "Fashion Police" show.
The Anti-Defamation League slammed Rivers, calling the remark "vulgar and hideous," but she said it was her way of getting people to talk.
"It's a joke, No. 1. No. 2 it is about the Holocaust," she told HLN's "Showbiz Tonight. "This is the way I remind people about the Holocaust. I do it through humor."
Of course, this latest dust-up coincides with Rivers' book, "Diary of a Mad Diva," which was released on July 1. Rivers' representative told CNN, "These are all funny jokes. The book is hysterical. The prologue says if anyone takes anything in the book seriously (he or she) is an idiot. And (Rivers) says if anyone has a problem with that, they can feel free to call her lawyer Clarence Darrow."

Joan Rivers Put In Medically-Induced Coma After Cardiac Arrest

Legendary comedienne Joan Rivers remains hospitalized after going into cardiac arrest yesterday. The 81-year-old, who is at Mount Sinai Hospital, was put in a medically-induced coma.
Rivers had been undergoing either a "routine endoscopy" or a procedure to look at her throat at Yorkville Endoscopy.
Her daughter Melissa flew from L.A. yesterday to be with her and released a statement, "I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming love and support for my mother. She is resting comfortably and is with our family. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers."
A family source told the Daily News, "We are scared. This is not looking good." The News adds, "Rivers, who was in critical condition late Thursday, will remain in a coma until the weekend, when doctors will discuss with her daughter the damage caused when her mother fell unconscious during a routine visit. 'They don’t know how long she was starved of oxygen,' a source said."
According to WCBS 2, "CBS 2’s Dr. Max Gomez said even if Rivers’ throat procedure was promised to be routine and outpatient, risks of serious complications are always present. 'There could be heart arrhythmias. Breathing can stop. You never know,' Gomez said. 'And also, the elderly tend to metabolize medications a little bit differently.'"
Rivers had performed at a Manhattan club on Wednesday; attendee Shade Rupe said,
"She did a joke onstage, she goes, ‘I’m 81 — I could go at any moment.'
The family source told the News, "She would want us all to laugh. But at the moment, we are all praying."

President Obama has failed to issue an official presidential statement of sorrow on the passing of comedienne Joan Rivers, a distinct contrast with little elegy he put out for Robin Williams.
You know what I mean, those bulletins that begin, Michelle and I are deeply saddened by the passing of . . .
Joan RiversBut not for Joan, even though Rivers was arguably a far more significant figure in the world of comedy and U.S. pop culture than Williams. Not only was she at it longer than him, but she was a pioneer, one of the early female standup comedians, paving the way for the many hilarious women that have followed her. She is an important figure in the movement for women’s equality.
But she had two problems with the Obamas. First of all, she was a Republican who had the audacity to complain about Obama’s tax increases. She once singled out estate taxes, which Obama has consistently tried to raise and which has gone up during his presidency. “I can’t wait until he decides to tax me some more on my deathbed,” she said about the estate tax. “I’m really thrilled about that.”
But her real sin was this:
Okay, not very nice. But that was Joan’s schtick. She went after politicians and celebrities in the most acerbic way.

I delete strings that do nothing but attack other posters. I don't read every thread, or every post in every thread, but there are a handful of people (well, only two) who spend about 90 percent of their time on the board personally attacking individual posters.
I hope you don't join that special class of weirdos. We all engage in some trash talk talk. I do it on occasion. But if that is your sole purpose on the board, I'll do what I can to clean some of it up, whenever I see it.

What we try and control, to the extent possible, is personal attacks against the individuals who post on the board. Calling the president gay, stupid, etc. isn't an attack on an individual who posts on the board. Calling an individual poster gay, a sociopath, a midget, etc. is attacking another member of the board.
The occasional back-and-forth is one thing, but doing it all day every day is really unnecessary. And it's not hard at all to stick to the issues. At least for normal people

What we try and control, to the extent possible, is personal attacks against the individuals who post on the board. Calling the president gay, stupid, etc. isn't an attack on an individual who posts on the board. Calling an individual poster gay, a sociopath, a midget, etc. is attacking another member of the board.

Who's the Real Barack Obama? Things Are Finally Becoming Clearer

Who is Barack Obama? You’d think a guy who’s penned three memoirs and is the subject of several authorized and unauthorized biographies would be an open book, but he isn’t, as most sentient Americans know. But now we’re learning more.
A recent story in Tablet Magazine by David Samuels, which includes an interview with one of Obama’s biographers, David J. Garrow, gives us some clues about America’s first half-black, half-white president and why he has meticulously hidden details of his life from the American people.
Basically, Barack Obama fantasized about gay sex and was a social-climbing, wanna-be billionaire who loathed his real-life story. Obama carefully refashioned a new character named Barack Obama into a carefully curated creature whose reputation the real Obama and his acolytes continue to tend with the scrupulousness of a bonsai master.
Many of these things have been whispered about the man since he came onto the American political scene. Those who said it out loud were largely dismissed. And, as Garrow acknowledges, an incurious media didn’t want to be that guy who asked too many questions because they’d be called racist.
Only one person ever bothered to look up the love of Obama’s life, Sheila Miyoshi Jager. They were together for years and lived together. “I mean,” Garrow told Samuels, “one would think that there’d be a journalist in America who would go look at the student directory in the University of Chicago Library in 2008.” Garrow jokes, “Yeah, we’re looking for the Black guy’s white girlfriend.” Samuels adds, “I mean, why go through all that trouble to be labeled a racist and lose your job?”
Garrow tracked down Jager, whom Obama asked to marry twice. She claims to have dumped him over the issue of the cavalier statements from an anti-Semitic friend. Jager’s dad’s parents were members of the Dutch Resistance and hid a Jewish child for three years during the Holocaust.
If Obama speaks of Jager at all, which he barely did in his first big book, “Dreams From My Father,” a book labeled “historical fiction” by Garrow—”Oh God, did that infuriate him”—it is Obama who dumped her. When Garrow spent eight hours interviewing Obama, the only off-limits topic was his father.
Another ex-girlfriend who talked to Garrow showed him the letters she got from Obama with a one-paragraph redaction. Why did she hide it? “It’s about homosexuality,” she said.

Throughout the years, Obama is alleged to have been a real-life Manchurian candidate, a member of the Down Low Club at Reverend Wright’s church, a cocaine lover, a purveyor of male prostitutes, a man placed in an arranged marriage by his church, and born in Kenya, among other things. That last one, his birthplace, was started by none other than Obama himself when he tried to sell his first book. His literary agent was only too willing to make the young author sound more mysterious. “orn in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii,” went the author blurb. Andrew Breitbart’s news outlet broke the story in 2012, and though the famed founder of Breitbart News wasn’t a birther, he was simply disgusted by the media’s lack of curiosity about Obama and the curated “fiction” from the man with the halo, St. Barack.
Obama’s own engineered origin story was set upon in a whispering campaign by Hillary Clinton in the Democrat primary, setting off a torrent of people concerned about Obama’s qualifications for office. Among those millions of people who wanted to get a look at Obama’s long-form Hawaii birth certificate was Donald Trump. He eventually got it.
Though media “fact check” stories abound finding Hillary fault-free from her birtherism roots, political insiders and, yes, Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway, told Politico, “This started with Hillary Clinton’s campaign, No. 1. No. 2, it was Donald Trump who put the issue to rest when he got President Obama to release his birth certificate years later. And, No. 3, he said ‘President Obama was born in this country, period.'”
Hillary almost got away with her libel of Trump as a Russian spy through a similar, though far more sophisticated, method of media and deep state manipulation.
Garrow says he “never paid much attention to birtherism for a large chunk of time, but I know I thought that [the Obama camp was] making a mistake by not putting the actual birth certificate out there.” He told Samuels that “it was horrific political malpractice not to put the birth certificate out there ASAP.” The situation gave the Obama acolytes room to label any who bought it up as racist. That’s all it took to dissuade the incurious media from looking into it. Indeed, this is where white suburban wine moms often derive their Donald-Trump-is-a-racist claptrap from and where their sons, who write for Slate, amplify it.

Samuels asked why Obama didn’t set the record straight. “Because Barack was so deeply contemptuous,” he didn’t think he had to prove he was born in America. “It is comical,” Garrow says, “it is bizarrely comical to imagine he was born anywhere other than Kapi’olani Hospital.” Most people agree, but Obama created the wedge issue and did what comes naturally to him as a long-time Saul Alinky-inspired community activist: divided people.
Samuels added that he believes Obama considered his real origin story too “foreign.” He believes the birther issue is “…not about racism, I think—at least not primarily. It was about foreignness, un-American-ness.” He continues, “I think that what Obama feared was that showing the birth certificate would make his Hawaiian-Kenyan-Indonesian outsiderness even more plain.”
Beyond the personal hagiography the former two-term president carefully curated for himself, there are larger issues at play in Samuels’ piece. For example, why is it that after Barack Obama’s presidency, Silicon Valley tech companies were seeded with his apparatchiks? Why did the man who objected to the Patriot Act allow intelligence agencies to spy on Donald Trump? Why is the awful Iran shrink-wrapped-money-not-to make-nukes deal the lodestar of his presidency? And why did race relations get worse, not better, during the presidency of America’s first black president?
Perhaps the most consequential fallout from his presidency was inflaming the Trayvon Martin shooting. From Ferguson to Sanford, Fla., Obama’s fingerprints were all over the Black Lives Matter’s creation story and the riots that erupted from the shootings of the two people who attacked people who had the means to fight back. “If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon,” Obama said about a teen who lay in wait, attacked, and then pinned George Zimmerman on the ground, where he bashed his head into the concrete before he saw Zimmerman’s gun. Zimmerman got to it first.
And then there’s the puzzle over why Obama, who owns multiple multi-million dollar homes in some of America’s finest, most moneyed neighborhoods, still keeps a residence in D.C. when it’s tradition for former presidents to move out of town to give the new president a wide berth. The Obamas claimed they did it so their daughter Sasha could finish high school with her classmates at Sidwell Friends School. Now Sasha’s a college graduate and the Obamas are still in their Kalorama manse.

There are no coincidences or accidents. Samuels opines, “To an extent that has never been meaningfully reported on, the Obamas served as both the symbolic and practical heads of the Democratic Party shadow government that ‘resisted’ Trump…”

President Obama has failed to issue an official presidential statement of sorrow on the passing of comedienne Joan Rivers, a distinct contrast with little elegy he put out for Robin Williams.

Not only was she at it longer than him, but she was a pioneer, one of the early female standup comedians, paving the way for the many hilarious women that have followed her. She is an important figure in the movement for women’s equality.
But she had two problems with the Obamas. First of all, she was a Republican who had the audacity to complain about Obama’s tax increases. She once singled out estate taxes, which Obama has consistently tried to raise and which has gone up during his presidency. “I can’t wait until he decides to tax me some more on my deathbed,” she said about the estate tax. “I’m really thrilled about that.”
But her real sin was this:
Okay, not very nice. But that was Joan’s schtick. She went after politicians and celebrities in the most acerbic way.

The trigger is that I believe it is stupid to concern oneself with nonsense that should mean nothing to them. I get that it is somewhat human nature because otherwise why would there be so many publications loaded with gossip about celebrities?
Not caring about something enough to comment on it is not sheepishness. There are far too many other things for people to concern themselves with than 'strangers’' life choices. What it says to me is that those who have nothing better to do than gossip about celebrities and politicians’ personal lives have no life of their own or their life is so miserable they choose the distraction of other folk's issues.
I admit that I waste a lot of time posting on Getbig. And on having pointless discussions with other members here who I have never met and don’t know. Since I retired and my wife passed, I believe I have become something of a recluse which is a problem I really need to address. Among other things the negativity on Getbig is a downer I don’t need.
So having confessed the above, I want to say thank you for ‘triggering’ this because I needed to address this head on. Now I need to act and figure out ways (baby steps) to change this unproductive waste of my time.

Carlson dropped a bombshell during an appearance on Adam Carolla’s show,
He revealed that the media has known for years Obama had “been having sex with men” and covered it up.
According to Carlson, the former president’s relationships with other men as been an open secret in Washington D.C. and corporate media circles.
“In 2008 it became really clear that Barack Obama had been having sex with men and smoking crack and a guy came forward, Larry Sinclair, and said ‘I’ll sign an affidavit and I’ll take a lie detector’ and he did,” Carlson said.
“Nobody reported it because the Obama campaign said anyone who reports on this gets no access to the Obama campaign.

Tucker Carlson has claimed Barack Obama was smoking crack and having sex with men - but the media failed to report it ahead of the 2008 presidential election.
The former Fox News host repeated the accusation of Larry Sinclair who alleged that Obama bought and smoked cocaine before they had sex in 1999.
The allegation, which emerged while then-Senator Obama was gearing up for the presidential election, was roundly condemned as an attempted political hatchet-job.
But Carlson claimed Wednesday that it was 'really clear' that Obama had been having a gay affair. He claimed the media didn't run the story because the Obama campaign team threatened to refuse access to the Democratic candidate.
Carlson, 54, speaking on the popular Adam Carolla Show, said: 'In 2008, it became really clear that Barack Obama had been having sex with men and smoking crack.'
DailyMail.com has contacted Obama's representatives for comment.
'A guy came forward, Larry Sinclair, and said "I'll sign an affidavit" and he did, "I'll do a lie detector" and he did,' he added.
'I smoked crack with Barack Obama and had sex with him", that was obviously true.'
Carlson was referencing the claims made by convicted felon Sinclair at the National Press Club in 2008 while Obama was running for president.
He said nobody reported on it due to threats from the Obama campaign.
'Nobody reported it not because they were squeamish about sex or drugs but because the Obama campaign said anyone who reports on this gets no access to the Obama campaign,' he said. 'So, they didn't report on it.'

Oh, I don't know, since Tucker is still being paid by FOX and they did not fire him, perhaps because he is violating his contract with them. In June Fox News notified Tucker Carlson's lawyers that the former prime-time anchor violated his contract with the network when he launched his own Twitter show. Carlson’s lawyers responded by saying that any legal action by Fox would violate his First Amendment rights. That we have not (to the best of my knowledge) been updated on where these opposing claims are currently at.
Carlson says in his book that “Fox agreed to take me off the air, my show off the air, as a condition of the Dominion settlement.” Wouldn't these stipulations be in the settlement documents? Who knows, maybe it is. Once again there is a lot we don't know.

Former first lady Michelle Obama has no plans on replacing President Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential election, former Obama White House advisor David Axelrod said.
Axelrod told CNN host Michael Smerconish on Saturday that Michelle Obama "never was interested in a political life" even though her husband, former President Barack Obama, ran for U.S. Senate in 2004 and later served in the White House from 2009 to 2017. "She is not someone who likes politics. She doesn't like the tone and tenor of politics."
Speaking to the possibility of Michelle Obama replacing Biden on the Democratic ticket, Axelrod said: "I would be floored if she would consent to that. They feel that they gave 10 years of their life to this. And I'm sure she feels as Barbara Bush did when she said there has to be someone other than the Bushes and the Clintons who could be President of the United States. My guess is that's her attitude."
