this can only fall in his favor. A liberal polititian get pulled over for drunk driving and has a bac of .23 which in tx is almost 3x the legal limit and perry asked her to select someone to act on her behalf and she refuses so he refuses funding for her projects. All the shit going on in the us right now and they pick this to focus on.... It's clearly an attempt to assassinate his character.

This is Rick Perry. It isn't like he has much of a character to assassinate to start with.

Perry wants to be president. He's been using a lot of TX resources for his 2016 prez run.
Using the national guard, for $3 mil a week, as a "visual" deterrent with no real duties.
This moral stand on drunk drivers is great, but it's a felony to do this, even if it feels awesome to punish piece of shite drink drivers. I'd like to punch that drunk idiot driver in the face, but he knew it'd be a felony, and he did it to beef up his conservative credentials for 2016 debate. "I PERSONALLY vetoed to stop drunk drivers and restore integrity to the office in my state!" I think it's awesome he did that... I'd LOVE to see drink drivers removed from ALL public office... they endanger so many people... a friend lost her sister to a drunk driver when we were in elementary school, right near our school. It was horrible and I greatly dislike drunk drivers.
But Perry did break the law in this case. Even if he had heart and political aspirations in right place, he can't do what he did, and he knew that. Worth the risk. "I even faced arrest for doing what was right... but I did it anyway, and I'd do it again!" It's admirable, it's bold, it shows he has balls, to be sure. This could actually WIN him 2016.

I have already said this is purely a political with hunt.
I have already said he did give the left an opening by taking a very risky move.
I have already said this may just WIN him the nomination because he shows balls here.
Please stop lumping me in with "lefties and dems" when I have said this is a courageous move by Perry and will certainly separate him from the rest of the pack in 2016. He wants integrity in his govt team so much that he is willing to bounce people who get wasted and use their car as a weapon. I love it. I hate drunk drivers. I think the woman deserved a year in prison for it. And I think it could win Perry the presidency.
So Not only have I "Accepted" it, but I have also said this coudl be his path to the Presidency.

I agree. Edwards was my choice before the whole scandal thing went down and he had to discontinue his campaign. Romney and Clinton had great hair as well.

She was mocked as a conspiracy theorist. Turns out, left-wing media wanted to ignore it. Righ-wing media (LIKE FOX AND DRUDGE) wanted to wait until Edwards was the nominee so they could sink him at the last minute. Destroying him in the primaries would be less damaging to the Dems.
Fair and balanced. ::) LOL. They're an entertainment channel, they can report on anything they want, but wow they have some serious political motivation here.
