Title: Quad(ruple) Development
Post by: Ringo on February 19, 2006, 05:15:47 PM
Quick question about a quad workout. What are a couple of exercises that really hit your outer quads? I am somewhat of a smaller guy, so I naturally have skinny legs, but I figure if I can build up my outside legs, I wont look as skinny. Any help or suggestions are appreciated, I need some better development here!

hack squats, narrow stance with toes pointing out.  but it is all about genetics -- if you do not have nice sweeps, tough luck.  keep on squatting.

1>>For most, medium width stance, toes slightly pointing out,FLO AZZ TO THE  OR FULL SQUATS....  Make these the cornerstone of your entire program...

Friend you need not worry about a outer quad sweep.  Focus on mass gains period.

2> Barbell Front Squats  will pile on the Quad mass like no other exercise can.  Alternate these two each workout.     Do them exclusively and you will reap the rewards....   That's it..   Nothing else will be needed for at least 2 years of consistent and persistent training and eating.

Thanks guys. Admittedly I've been kind of shrinking out of barbell squats. I usually end up on the smith machine. Last week I hit freeweight squats for the first time in almost 6 months and my legs were screaming at me. It was great. I'll start rotating in front squats. I appreciate the advice.
