Levrone was always awesome but I always thought that his back was always his weak body part. It seemed it never was thick enough when he hit a back double bicep pose. I think that's what held him back from winning the Olympia.

I remember seeing Kevin win the 1991 Nationals on ESPN. He beat a stellar field in the heavyweights, too:
1 Kevin Levrone
2 Flex Wheeler
3 Paul Demayo
4 Ronnie Coleman
5 Matt Mendenhall
It was clear to see then that this guy was something special and he was going places. I hope he finds as much success in Hollywood as he did in the bodybuilding arena.

I've got one of the BFTO tapes, which I think has footage from the MMM video, anyway Kev's working shoulders and he's moving some incredible weight, totally freakin ripped too. I still think if he went totally nuts for a year and put his heart and soul into it instead of just training for a few months he could beat Ronnie.

Seriously, the fact that that guy never one at least one Olympia is just one of the many reasons as to what's wrong with bodybuilding. Simply awesome bodybuilder back in his heyday. The guy did it right throughout his whole career.
People say that he only trained 4 months out of the year and that was the reason he never won the big show. Whatever. He's only smarter for doing it that way.
Sorry people, his quality of life is more inportant than your expectations! He wont be one of those ex bodybuilders who's heart explodes at 45.
His genetics were so off the charts he didn't need to take nearly as much gear as some of his fellow pros.

Thanks for changing my words in the first sentence of my earlier statement. Anyway, I always thought that way about levrone. I used to know him very well when he lived in MD. He was truly an awesome bodybuilder. I sometimes make the mistake of talking about him on a personal level when it has nothing to with the topic. The bottom line was the Kevin had a horrible track record of burning people he called friends in order to benefit himself. But whatever. Sour grapes.....

Check it out, I wonder If Kevin is so touched and AMPED UP from such care and support from his loving fans, that he doesnt get the itch to go back to the gym and take another shot..
But honestly, in my EYES, he has NOTHING to prove- Even if he didnt win a mrO, anyone that knows bodbuilding, knows he was ONE of the BEST EVER, up there WITH greats like Ronnie, Yates, etc.
So, bc I admire him so much, I wouldnt want to see him come back and put his body through the crap he has to- again- for what? Again, he has nothing to pove..He has left His signature in the Pro bodybuilding world for ever.

I want him to be happy in whatever he does. If that means coming back and he is comfortable with it then why not?
Clearly it would be a smart move to wait until Ronnie retires. If that is the case then he may have to start training now to achieve the muscular maturity required to win the O.
