Title: Couple ideas and suggestions I have for wwe
Post by: calfzilla on May 16, 2015, 02:56:17 AM
Please add yours to this thread  :)

I checked the wwe site and unfortunately yet understandably they don't accept ideas/angles from fans.

Mine
1.  It's a minor thing but Roman needs new wrestling gear. He looks like he is still in the shield. Plus he's a good looking guy with a great body (no homo) and should show it off.

2.  They need to take some divas and give Bray Wyatt a harem. Start with one then slowly add to it. Would be great for the character since he has so many similarities to Manson. I think this could be a nice running angle for a good amount of time especially since he split with Rowan and Harper.

How about they stop building people up then jobbing them out.

Damien Sandow - had a good thing with Miz, yes the feud is over BUT, jobbing him with Axel

Neville - he is in a feud with Barrett, yes this is good but he will continue to loose.

Rusev - huge push all last year only to be jobbed to Cena this whole year..

LOSE THE PG BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Start airing RAW at 10pm and run a 2 hour show till midnight.

And finally, stop force feeding guys like Roman Reigns who simply are NOT READY down our throats.

Stop starting Raw with a 15 minute talk segment. I tune out half way through.

cena still carries the banner,he's top performer/slot/air time..he looks great still and does his thing,do I compare his popularity or character like Hogan's prime 'no way'hogan was still the best ever in terms of carrying a show..orton is great heel/face/spoiler but he seem's disinterested in what goes on in terms of ass kissing I could be wrong..now that yes, yes, yes bryant is on the shelf there promoting that one guy from the shield 'the one with the bad wet hair...

It's funny I was thinking the other day that roman reigns is not getting over as a face and needs to turn heel ASAP, the I read on the Internet that steve Austin said pretty much the same thing.

He's fat but the guy can wrestle and he can cut decent promos. Problem is the lower tier guys are afraid to use gas because they do not want to run the risk of getting caught and then publicized to the entire north american audience. Hence the shitty look and the layers of fat on these guys.

I never said he was. Give it time and he'll either:
a) Fail the piss test and be made a scapegoat for the Wellness policy.
b) Injure the shit out of himself with his way over the top style and right himself off.

Just saw a house show that opened with Bo Dallas and Neville and all I kept wondering was how Neville could pass a drug test. His build reminds me of Benoit's, short squat guy with thickness while staying lean.

Even better comparison.  Thick, squatty build with still very lean.

Clock is ticking on the failed drug test. Probably  waiting to build up his name before they lower the hammer, so it looks like they bust their stars.

I'd bet that not a single prominent male wwe wrestler is natty.

Cesaro?
Ryback? Lmao
Reigns?
Sheamus?
Orton?
Cena?
Big E?
Titus O'neil?
Rollins?
Ambrose?

Ambrose could be natty easily. Rollins it's possible but probably not.

Sheamus seems to have gotten a little smaller and softer lately.

More suggestions I have:

-turn Rollins face. He's great in the ring but terrible on the mic, needs someone to do the talking for him. I don't think he's hopeless, he can improve but right now not so great.

-See Mick Foleys social media post about Divas needing a Pipe bomb.

- Push Ambrose. They kinda are but he's just great in the ring and also character/promo wise. Potential for lots of great stuff.

-why is the Uso on commentary? He never says anything and when he does he's not that great.

Raw announcers suck. Michael Cole is ok but get rid of Bradshaw. Great raw tonight 8/24 but horrible announcing.

Honestly, I hate them all... I actually liked Booker T because he would say something random and crazy and I would laugh, but I can't stand Layfield or Cole... Saxton I don't care for either, but he hasn't been around long enough for me to hate.

The worst part is that they are all better than Josh Matthews.  :-\

Here is my prediction/what I would do for tonight's Night of Champions.

I would have Rollins lose the U.S. title to Cena. Then for the main event I would have sting win the world title then immediately Shaemus comes out and cashes in the mib and wins the title from Sting.

This does a couple things:

1) gives Sting his WWE championship without having him needing to hold the belt long because he is so part time.

2) Allows Rollins to have his match with Triple H where the title is not the issue but rather their rivalry.

3) Rollins and Shaemus can later feud over the WWE championship.

And I think it almost goes without saying that we all believe Rollins will drop the U.S. strap to Cena.

It sounds feasible except that Shaemus is so not over, and the WWE is having television ratings issues.
There's just nothing interesting or compelling about him.

Mr. Kennedy won it, then lost it to Edge, who cashed it in and won and Damian Sandow won it and lost when he tried to cash it in.

Reminds me of old etchings of Black Beard the Pirate.

Just put some burning matches in that hair and we have a real life Buccaneer.

They appear to be heading in that direction, as evidenced by the white outfit.

It's hard to hate someone when you admire their athletic ability. So, to get people to hate Rollins, they have him going on and on with endless promos. This approach just gets people changing the channel, which is not what they had in mind.

Cena is interesting because the kids and the casual fans love him but the "smart" fans don't like him or are at least tired of him. I will admit his wrestling ability has improved over the years.

I imagine they will just leave him as a face, but I must admit I do like the John Cena sucks chants to his music.  ;D

Paige hit a home run last night with her promo. Best diva promo I have seen in a very long time. That's the type of stuff they need to actually make this diva revolution a success.

A good rule: listen and cater ONLY to who draws you money.

WWE is in a very hurting state right now whether people want to admit it or not. Their house show attendance figures are at an all time low (2,000-3,000 max crowds with 45% of the arena tarped off) as are the Raw and Smack down ratings. Right now, I get off more on watching Sasha Banks wrestle Paige because I know I will see a great match. What does that tell you? They need to look past Cena as he simply cannot fill his predacessors shoes. Plain and simple. You cannot create future stars based on mediocrity. Everyone thought Roman Reigns was the next thing and he turned out to be a dud. Ziggler is a phenomenal worker but the bottom line is people are not going to spend 100-200 bucks a ticket to watch a mid card performer. Same with Miz, same with Ambrose and don't even get me started on a New Day. Take the trumpet away from Woods and that faction is garbage beyond belief. Makes me wonder what will happen when Vince kicks the bucket. Punk was right on the money..."The idiotic daughter and dufus son in law will kill it."

2 problems :

The first problem is that they try to start and end angles within the space of one month.   There are no long running feuds like there used to be.

The second problem is that they threw away squash matches.  The PPVs are now what you see on RAW anyway.  You already know the outcome.  The desire to see two stars go at it has been removed already.  I remember back when they could show career mid carders like Hercules and Dina Bravo scheduled for an opening match at a PPV.  You would actually look forward to see who was coming out on top because they would feed them jobbers to make them both look dominate for weeks before their match.

The product nowdays sucks.

Damn, I didn't realize their house shows were doing this poorly.

To be fair, it's harder to get people out of the house, at night, these days, primarily because home entertainment has improved and the live experience has gotten worse: cost, idiots on cellphones, guys shooting up places etc.

Yes, that is a BIG part of the problem.
That and this PG bullshit. They should go back to airing Raw at 10pm - 12pm (2hr shows) and go balls out like they did in the late 90's. I actually looked forward to watching Raw back then. Forget this "politically correct" / "kiddie" nonsense. If you can air shows like CSI with graphic images, then you can go back to the attitude era type of wrestling.

When Raw started, back in the '90s, I had basic cable and no internet. Today, I have Verizon Fios with 1000 channels, in addition to Wifi. There's simply more variety. The major networks have been hemoragging viewers, as well.

The days of the casual viewer are over. We're in a world of niche programming. At this point, wrestling's audience is the smart marks. IMO, WWE's best days, both live and on TV are over.

He has a unique combo of strength, agility, size, and in ring talent.

That said, the reason he hasn't made it to the top of the card is that he lacks the personality of a top guy. He tries but it's just not there.

I have to also admit, Rusev's facial expressions are great when he's supposed to be "loopy".

They make me laugh.

His in ring work and skills are remarkable due to his experience overseas. Hes spent the bulk of his career wrestling in Europe and his training methods are unique. He is very powerful for a guy with smaller quality size and with a bit of promo work, I think he should have an IC title push and i'm not talking a lame 3 week title reign, i'm talking more like 6-8 months.

Yes Rusev has great facial expressions. I also like his temper tantrums.

I know myself and others have mentioned the current announcers suck. One bright spot is Renee Young. I know she does mostly backstage interviews but she has a certain charisma and charm.  She does great on her wwe network show, I think it's called beyond the ring.

Performers today are not given enough creative latitude.

I think wwe is packed with talent. It's just the story lines and creative team sucks. Not sure the problem but maybe they have too many chiefs not enough Indians backstage.

The main problem is the length of the show. They could probably put on a quality hour and a half show every week, but, at three hours, there's gonna be lots of filler.

I understand that they make more in advertising with three hours, but, it might backfire, in the long run, as ratings continue to drop. You can also make a case that an overexposed television product makes the live shows less desirable.

I remember when Nitro went to three hours. Talk about fillers...

I saw the writing on the wall during an episode in which a camera crew was following around Kevin Nash while "looking" for a story line drunk Scott Hall in local bars.

This was during one of Hall's very public bouts of substance abuse problems. Ala Russo, they took a real life personal event and turned it into an angle in poor taste, which in turn treated fans to over an hour of recurring segments of looking at Nash's back as he wandered through local dives.

Historically low ratings for RAW this week. They can't put their heads in the sand about this:

WWE Raw rating for the September 28 edition

2015-09-29 16:17:11

Monday's WWE Raw scored a 2.33 rating, down from the 2.47 rating the show drew last week. Raw averaged 3.3 million viewers, down from the 3.349 million average from last week.

You mentioned Nitro, earlier. I heard Waltman say that Nitro going to three hours was the begnning of the end, and, that he told that to Triple H. I believe that eventually they're going to have to shorten the show, otherwise there won't be a show.

I'd say I watched a total of ten minutes, this week, and that was while the Football game was in commercials, and, the game wasn't even competitive.

Definitely a length of show issue.

They have 2 options.

Either they decrease the show time or they increase some match times... maybe have a main event that is more than 15 minutes long?

You know... a REAL main event match... instead of just fucking talking all the damn time.

Football is bigger now then it was 20 years ago (almost) during the Monday night wars.

Now, we can offset the fact it's on ESPN and not ABC, but really, Cable and Satellite and Fiber is pretty much everywhere now.

I wish they had a TV title and had them defend that at least once a week... That would be your main event EVERY week and could be awesome.

Fuck John Cena's US Open Blah blah.

Just watched the network special from msg and am sick that Cena always goes over. I'm beyond sick of him, at least as a face. I understand the reasons why they keep him a face but if the turned him heel and not just a regular heel but make him do some real bad shit then it would be huge. Possibly could even save the company.

Seth needs to go face too. Jumps off the top off the cage and takes that bump just to lose and get destroyed by Kane after.  :-\

I truly believe they would do it if they had someone lined up to take his place in the wake of a turn.

Honestly, is there anyone currently who could step into Cena's spot and carry the ball for the company the same way from a sales figure standpoint?

I would hate to think this is about merch sales. As far as tickets I strongly feel that if you give the fans the best product you can, the numbers and money will be there in the end.

That's what they did in the late 90's with Austin and it worked, eventually the merch sales went through the roof and the WWE made the most profit they ever did in history. Its the domino effect. It's also rolling the dice and praying for double sixes at a craps game.

They don't need Cena. Even when Cena headlines a house show there's only a max 3,000 - 5,000 max capacity. Rollins is doing well and is a phenomenal heel, reminds me of Edge with the stick talk and the look.
The Wyatts are in a hot fued with Reigns and Ambrose. They just need to find something for Kevin Owens. Love that cannonball in the corner.

Okay, I'm curious...

You grew up not far from me, and not many years apart. I was practically force-fed WWF. How did you get your mid-Atlantic feed?

I kind of relied on the magazines. Dirt sheets hadn't been invented, yet.

Although, I do remember seeing the plastic bag over the head angle at my Aunt's house as a little kid. But, I don't remember if it was Funk's original angle, or a ripoff. Nonetheless, that shit hit me hard as a ca. 8 year-old.

Also, according to Meltzer, Ambrose will be getting a push, in Cena's absence. I hope they let him cut loose. So far, they've stripped everything that was cool about him, and made him into a generic crazy guy.

This is an earlier promo of his. I've seen nothing like this in WWE.

Like Paige losing to Natalya cleanly via submission, that made no sense. Took away a lot of her heat. It's small things like this that make me think they might go out of business or end up selling the company.

Its shitty booking. Poor Paige is only doing what she is told. I agree totally with you on that one Calf. Like many of their storylines, it makes no sense at all. A clean finish like that on TV is not good for business.

It's definitely no good. At least not like that. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm also a Nat fan... she's a solid worker and has skills, and if they plan on pushing her, that's fine, but it came out of nowhere for no reason.

Paige is the heel, and for the heel to get beat like that on TV just makes no sense.

I didn't catch that part of the show, but, heard about it on a review podcast (It's pretty bad when the podcasts that review Raw are better than the show, itself).

I couldn't believe what what I was hearing. Natty hadn't been on tv forever. Meanwhile, Paige had just delivered the best promo by a female wwe wrestler, maybe ever.

That had to bury her on purpose. They can't be that dumb.

I agree. I always thought that Reigns was pushed too soon. They made him out to be the next great hope and it crashed and burned. I find that they just don't build people anymore. They need to go back to the basics and build guys. Get them in some good 3-4 month fueds with other guys and after a year or two of that, have them chase a title like the IC for example. Now, as soon as a guy comes up from NXT, he's thrust into the main event and as soon as thats done, then what? He fought the big fight already. The hoopla is gone.

I suspect this week will be another ratings low. You had both football and the baseball playoffs as competition. No reason to check out Raw. I caught a few minutes of the Cena/Ziggler match and that was it.

The other couple times during commercials that I flipped over to Raw, Kane was watching television and talking on the phone. I lasted about five seconds before flipping back to the game.

Rollins is doing a good job so far for what he was given and in the short time. Again, IMO he was pushed too soon. Mind you, they did right by giving him Mercury and Noble for a while. He had two experienced road agents guiding him. I think by Royal Rumble we will see a huge face turn on Rollins' part. He just needs to keep the fire burning and not fizzle out.

It was a pretty good match, but of course, let's just keep the strap on Cena even though he's leaving.

Let Dolph carry the strap for a couple of months and let's see what happens.

During the part I saw, Ziggler hit Cena with about ten consecutive elbow drops. It was pretty impressive, but Cena may as well have been text messaging while this was happening, as he got up immediately afterwards as though nothing had happened. Cena's STF was also ridiculous, as you could've driven a truck through the space between Cena's hands and Ziggler's chin. What makes it even worse is that when Cena was on Austin's Podcast, Austin told him to make the move more snug.

WWE dropped the ball with Angle. There's one guy who deserved his 1 mill per year deal and could out wrestle anyone.

Dean Ambrose although not extremely talkative is very good on the mic and I think the reason why is because his character is so close to the actual person. When cutting a promo he just seems very relaxed. Sort of like Robert Downey Jr is a great Tony Stark because he's playing a guy so similar to himself.

Yes, Ambrose Mark outed!

I guess I'm old school, but, I like wrestlers wrestling in wrestling attire. When I see someone come to the ring in blue jeans, it takes me out of the match. When Ambrose was in the Indies, he wrestled in trunks. Apparently, putting him in jeans is the WWE's idea of making edgy. IMO, it makes him look like an idiot.

Barring dramatic change, the WWE is hopeless. Luckily, New Japan is killing it. The Intercontinental Title match for the Tokyodome show is Nakamura vs Karl Anderson.

You will never be disappointed with a NJPW show. Your guaranteed to see new moves, different styles and a good ground technique not seen in American rings.

Rhetorical question: How can Seth Rollins carry any heel heet (and champion credibility) when he is constantly pinned cleanly on TV every week and never comes out on top nor does he ever do any cheap heel attacks to get heat. This is nothing against Rollins but rather creative.

And, I finally watched the McMahon Stone cold podcast from several months back and was rather discouraged. Steve Austin brough up to vince the issues us fans have with current wwe; too many people in creative, not pushing guys who are over with the fans (Cesaro) and overall not listening to fans.
Vince claimed they do listen to fans and they need all those peolple in creative. I was just disappointed because Austin really just put it out there and Vince pretty much denied there was a problem.

And that is exactly the mistake they are making with him because they are destroying any credability Seth has in making him lose clean on TV. They are so **** stupid in the WWE right now. They could use a count out or a DQ finish but to make the guy who's your world champion lose clean is not whats best for business.

His presentation sucks, too.

A champion is supposed to be on another level from everyone else.

He's a guy who could pull off an expensive suit, but they have him walking around in a tshirt and tights. He may as well be Heath Slater.

Its the head of talent relations as well as booking. Rollins is very good but again, doing what he is told.
Austin and the Rock had freedom to do/say/wear what they wanted.

If the reports are not true then let me apologize to Vince; but it really annoys me that Vince was the one to pull back the curtain and let people know it's a work and just sports entertainment, that's why it's very annoying to hear reports of Vince getting mad at talent for breaking kayfabe. Most recently the Lana and Rusev engagement and the group pic with Jericho, luke Harper, Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt.

Vince, then, should be pissed at Brock. I've listened to about half of the Austin Podcast. Brock mentions sitting with Undertaker during road trips and picking his brain. He credits Taker with teaching him ring psychology and how to put together a match. This seems a tad inappropriate considering they have a big match coming up, against each other.

I totally agree with this post. It all has to do with the poor ratings. They have to try to make money back another way. Podcasts, Total Divas and now this new show that is going to air Monday night after Raw. Christ, last Raw they had to load up the card with Austin, Undertaker, Michaels and Flair FFS just to get people in seats. This is the game they are playing now.

Since we're talking about the women, either Charlotte's personality has yet to come out, or she doesn't have one. She comes across as very cold and distant.

And it looks like Paige is back in the mix. I still think she has a lot up upside.

Btw, last night's Raw was actually pretty good, with the Owens/Cesaro match being exceptional.

The ratings have highest during the first hour. As a result they're stacking the early part of the show.

That works fine for me. I get up at 5:00am, by 9:30pm I'm done.

BTW, early morning workouts are the perfect time to catch up on Podcasts.

Paige, Sasha, Becky... Those 3 are the shit.

Becky is still a work in progress, but, she certainly has an upside.

They need to present her better. This outfit is better than what she's currently wearing and she's still getting owned by Sasha.

Picture this...Wyatss are already in the ring.........Lights go dark, the Bell tolls, Druid on the ramp holding their torches...UT and Kane come down......2 of the druidd leave the pack and follow UT and Kane.....they walk into the ring.....heads still down......

Lights go on...Druid remove their hoods to reveal.....APA, one night reunion....place goes crazy....the ministry is back......

Thoughts?

While I like the idea, the fact that the WWE has to continuously go back to the old guard is a huge problem.

They need to find a way to move forward, not backward.

Thanks guys, appreciate the kind words. They have soo much great talent right now that they dont know what to do with.

Cesaro
Owens
Ziggler

+ NXT roster.

Half the problem is there are no diabolical heels. Guys play the role but are afraid of the heat.

The other problem is us as fans are sick of guys getting pushed, getting squashed, pushed again. I loved Ziggler and Cesaro but why get behind them when WWE can't.

As one person here stated, sad state when they have to go back to the old days. I also guarantee that this year's WM will have at least 5-7 old timers....It's the only way they will be able to pack the stadium

Yeah, not a fan of JBL as an announcer. He's either putting himself over, or playing "gotcha" with Cole.

His wife sucks as a money manager, too. She had a good call during the 2008 financial crisis, and, as a result, got some investment capital flowing her way, and promptly lost it.

She was a banking analyst, who got into money management after the crisis. JBL does deserve props for landing a woman who isn't in the wrestling business.

From the Wall St. Journal:

Meredith Whitney shut her fledgling hedge fund, a setback for the ex-banking analyst who became one of Wall Streetís highest-profile women during the last financial crisis but ran into challenges in recent years.

Ms. Whitney didnít respond to a request for comment, but her lawyer confirmed the closure of Kenbelle Capital LP. In an interview Wednesday on the Fox Business Network, Ms. Whitney said she didnít plan to manage money again.

ďThis whole experience has been highly unfortunate, and Iím putting it behind me,Ē Ms. Whitney said.

It just seems low rent and not part of the story. It's one thing for say that Charlotte got to where she is because of Dad. That's wrestling related, but, bringing up a family member who died of an overdose is just cheap heat.

As an aside, did anyone see the fall Jay Uso took going over the top rope? I can't tell them apart, but, apparently he's the one who just got back from shoulder surgery. New Day was supposed to catch him, but he overshot the move and landed head first. I was shocked he got up from that.

Well during her table for 3 episode, she talked about how Reid was the one who convinced her to move to Florida together so they could share an apartment and train together. She said he never got to see her wrestle, so I think with her using him in this angle is kind of symbolic for her. Making Reid part of her wrestling career that he never had the chance to do when he was alive. Maybe one of those things that she knows better than anyone he would be all for it.

My first comment was before I saw the segment. I thought Paige brought it up out of the blue.

Having watched it on WWE.com, Charlotte brought him up several times before Paige responded. So, obviously Charlotte was in on it to a much bigger extent than I had thought. Had I watched it not knowing the outcome, I would've expected Paige to say something.

As Ric had stated, creative probably approached Charlotte about the angle and because she is new, didn't want to sat "NO"....end of the day poor taste.

Not the first time Vince used something that was in poor taste.

Better or Worse than the Katie Vick nonsense with HHH?

Only caught a little of the show and caught up by watching clips on the app, but for me the highlight of the show was Paige on commentary. She is very talented on the mic, in ring and even on commentary.

TBH, I would throw up.

I'm telling you guys, what they need to do is scrap this PG bullshit and start airing Raw and Smackdown at 10pm. They need to go back to the formula they had in the late 90's when you would tune in and you never knew what was going to happen. Its way to kid friendly and way too predictable now. If they can air reality shows that are intense and shows like CSI where they show bodies that are decapitated, than they can go a lot harsher on wrestling.

Have they confirmed that he's done? Sometime they tend to put falsafied info on the net purposely to catch everyone off guard. I have a funny feeling he will be back at Royal Rumble. Mind you, I could also be wrong. Maybe his injury is way worse than everyone thought.

From my understanding, his doctors say he's okay to wrestle, but the WWE Drs disagree. Sounds like Vince's lawyers don't think it's a smart idea to take on the liability. Can't say say I blame them.

I have to admit, when Bryan came back the first time, I had a hard time watching him without thinking about his neck.

Lol...."the WWE doctors disagree" ... the same doctors who okayed Punk and Kane to wrestle with giant lumps on their back, Punk's being dangerously fatal if not drained.

So you agree those matches are good candidates?

Would love to hear what other matches people would nominate. Those are the 2 that stuck out for me.

That solina del sol bump from the top of the ladder brought me back to the days of Edge spearing Jeff Hardy off the ladder. Sick bumps!

Absolutely good candidates.

Honestly, I would have to go back and look at other matches again... Not many stand out to me. Rollins and Cena in hell in a cell was ok. Rollins makes everyone look good.

Were there really a lot of standout matches in the WWE this year?

Ring of Honor had a bunch of great matches though.

Jay Lethal going to wrestle kingdom is going to be great.

I think I will go there next year.

Scott Levy mad an interesting suggestion on Jericho's podcast about Vince hiring a couple of retired veterans to go on the road with these current guys and discuss things like psychology and character development, etc.

Personally, I doubt the old man would ever go for it since:

     a.) It's not his idea
b.) He likes having TOTAL control over the talent.

It seems like the McMahon's don't want any "independent thinkers" on the roster.

get rid of the writers and go back to the guys winging their characters while working with the older wiser retired talent backstage who used to do it, look at old promos and tell me I am wrong

who is going to have better connection to the audience, some poor kid sent out trying to remember a script some pansy who has never been in the ring wrote or getting mentored and molded by someone like Jake Roberts, Steamboat, Undertaker, Kane, Mankind and then going out there and letting the creative and physical talent go where it's supposed to be..a developing connection with the crowd

the guys today are too busy following a script.. the old guys could cut a perfect promo in their sleep 3 sheets to the wind and get people interested

Ok getbig and wwe I have another idea:

A face superstar who is good on the mic (not Roman) needs to have a feud with VKM and totally lay into him in worked shoot style just saying how he is 70 and lost his touch and is out of touch. Most importantly needs to tell vince how much of a shame it is since he sold out by going public and must do what is needed to how down and please the share holders and maintain a pg program.

If done correctly and by the right person it could be epic heat. Of course I'm not sure anyone currently could pull it off. Obviously Rock, Austin and Punk could but they aren't wreslting and I think it would be a better angle for someone just getting over.

Austin, Cornette and a few others have been saying this for years. There is no one that can teach ring psychology anymore as all the vets are gone.

I know one of Jim Ross' issues is that no body sells anymore. If the road thing doesn't work bring in some of the vets to explain this...one of the best was Ricky Morton.....

Nothing lasts forever. I honestly think that once VKM leave the business permanently, there will be a massive decline in revenue and attendance will be a lot worse than it already is. That is when you will see a parallel accross the United States and smaller territories as we saw in the early to mid eighties.

NJPW / ROH / Lucha Underground are the best promotions going.

NXT is next, then WWE, and finally the shell of a company that is TNA.

Although, I am really enjoying listening to Matt Hardy say "Brother Nero" every 5 minutes and I don't know why.

I think his real life is interesting, his attitude and persona, but I thought his promos were bad.  It's strange to me that people think they're good (I'm not saying you're wrong).

Side note I think Rollins and Owens cut the best promos in the Fed next to Cena.

I see what you are saying about Ambrose. I will concede that the content of his promos are great but he is always relaxed and doesn't stutter and stammer much. The delivery is great IMO.

Rollins I think is pretty bad at promos but has gotten slightly better. Reigns sucks. I agree Owens is pretty good.

I just lost a lot of respect for Booker T. He's entitled to his opinion but I disagree with him. James Ellsworth is over big time with the fans and his run should continue. He also seems like a great dude, not to mention he's very entertaining. At least the only person who matters likes him (Vincent McMahon).

Quote from booker T. Source Tpww.net

His Thoughts on James Ellsworth: It is old. Iím tired of seeing James Ellsworth. This kid had one hell of a run, but send him back to the independents. Iíve seen this guy at a convention, I was appalled, but this guy is going to live this run for quite some time. Heís probably getting a good price out there on the Indy show. Theyíre probably bringing him in as an attraction, but the thing of it is, me personally Iím not a hater, but you must ride it for as long as you can. Look at Hornswoggle, he worked with WWE for 6-7 years, you canít hate people like that, but you wonder how James Ellsworth fit into the WWE mold? It just makes you wonder. There are people in my Reality of Wrestling just scratching at the door, so when I see Ellsworth, thereís just gotta be a way, but you have to wait your turn, but itís definitely getting a little old.

Nothing against Beckly Lynch and Alexa Bliss they are both good but the TLC tables match proved that Sasha and Charlotte are one a whole other level. Crowd was very quite during women's tables match. Sasha and Flair the crowd is always going crazy.

After watching Roman Reigns get booed out of the building last night, my confidence in WWE has hit an all time low. Nobody is buying him as a top face. His in ring work is just ok, has a great look but cringeworthy on the mic.

He's just not working as a face. McMahon needs to look at the multiple chants from last night and realize Reigns is not over with the fans as packaged. He needs to be paired with someone more charismatic (shield anybody?) or give him someone to do the talking for him or just turn him heel already.

Fans are booing the shit out of him as a top face, imagine the reaction if he was a heel.

This is why the WWE now needs to capitalize on making him a full fledge heel. Fans yelling "Leave" and "Fuck you Roman" was priceless heat.

The crowd isn't split on Reigns. Not like Cena.

Cena legit had a long run of huge pops. Now it's a mix.

It's like Angle drinking in the "You Suck" chants to his music. While Cena may get a mixed reaction, during his matches or promos, people usually listen.

When you are booed every time you bring a mic to your face, there's no mix... You're just Not liked.

Yeah, I think it has to be that way.

It's not Reigns' fault he's so hated... I mean, Daniel Bryan coming back and not winning the Royal Rumble in 2016 was pretty much the start of the downhill crumble.

that's why triple h was great heel and he even got some cheers if he wrestled a guy who was inbetween heel/face,,,thats why orton works both ways as well he can be booed and cheered event to event..

Angle is a good example. The fans popped big with the you suck chants but they were just doing it for fun. They don't actually believe Angle sucks, it just rhymes so well with his music.

Reigns on the other hand does not enjoy the chants regardless of what he says and the fans don't like him as packaged.

Keep in mind that was the Raw after WrestleMania thing. Remember that Reigns got booed when he won the Rumble in Philly in 2015. In that same arena, the fans cheered for Reigns when he beat Sheamus for the WWE World title.

Yes, but a lot has changed from 2015 to today. People REALLY REALLY do not like the guy and they are even more upset that the WWE keeps pushing him as a face when they just don't like the guy.

This all stems from the Rumble in 2015. Reigns was voted 2014 Superstar of the Year. And it was Reigns' popularity that helped turn the Shield into babyfaces.

Some of the fans blame Reigns for getting the Rumble win and WrestleMania match against Lesnar for the title, when they wanted Daniel Bryan. But, WWE made the right call, in my view. Sorry, there's NOBODY that can sell me on Bryan beating Lesnar for the belt.

How could we?  There is absolutely no competition.

Pro leagues have figured out how to monopolize sport, I don't understand why they don't treat smackdown and raw like two separate teams that are competitors. They almost have the concept working with the nxt brand, but I'm sure they will wreck that too.

They actually do that, to a degree. Every RAW after WrestleMania, it's let-every-guy-on-the-main-roster-job-to-the-NXT-guys-night.

Now, they have guys doing an in-house THT. Notice how nearly all the new acquisitions on one brand lost on their previous brand just before leaving.

Charlotte moves to Smackdown; she loses on RAW to Nia Jax.

New Day moves to Smackdown; they lose twice to the Revival (who "injures" Kofi Kingston).

Kevin Owens jumps ship; he jobs to Dean Ambrose.

Ambrose moved to Raw; he jobs to Baron Corbin.

Alexa Bliss goes to RAW; Naomi makes her tap, just as she did 'Mania.

Jinder Mahal jobs to Finn Balor; next stop.....Smackdown.

Bray Wyatt loses in a tag match; he goes red.

Sami Zayn is the only guy I can recall who actually won his match on Raw before joining the blue team.

I've seen clips of him from NXT, being heralded as the greatest thing since entrance music for wrestlers.

But, on Smackdown when confronting Dolph Ziggler, he looked like the biggest goof walking the planet.

My guess is that Ziggler will do the THT for him and end up on RAW the next week.

I know he worked baby face before his Federation turn, but I can't remember exactly when or where. I want to say maybe in Portland, but I'm not certain.

I agree with you about the persona changing. Savage was similar with his face turn. I always loved Piper & Macho as faces, but ONLY JUST AFTER their respective turns because they were still essentially the same characters - just feuding with other heels.

How many more times are you going to do that? He's been IC champion 4 or 5 times. He's been US champion at least twice (I think).

At this point, if he's not in the World title mix (whenever someone beats him, they exclaim that he beat a TWO-TIME world champion), he may as well go away.

And as I suspected, he jobbed to Nakamura. Only time will tell if he gets shipped to RAW.

He simply can't stay healthy. Jack Swagger packed his bags and bailed. Assuming he didn't already do so on that Smackdown dark match, Ziggler may be doing the old THT for Nakamura and heading for the bush leagues (or at minimum, he gets demoted to NXT).

Otherwise, he's the official jobber for the freshman class from NXT. Last year, it was Baron Corbin; this year, it's Shinsuke Nakamura

Problem I see with Ziggler and Swagger is that they lost their fizzle. They are just glorified jobbers at this point and once you hit that point, there is no turning back. They have some great talents though in Bobby Roode and The Perfect 10.

In Swagger's case, blame it on the weed. If he hadn't got popped after Elimination Chamber in 2013, I think he was slated to beat Del Rio for the World title at WM29.

If Ziggler is still on the main roster (or in WWE at all) next year, he'll just job for the latest flavor of the month from NXT.

So I hear they are  cutting 205 live down to 30 minutes. My thing is I'm not really interested in the new cruiserweight division. The reason being is that wrestling has changed a lot in the last 20 years and you have three  hundred pound guys like Luke harper doing highflying moves that 15 years ago only cruiserweights did. I was a huge fan of the cruiserweight division back in the WCW days. I'm just not too interested in the new 205 Live cruiserweight division. In my opinion they should keep several of the superstars such as Jack Gallagher but get rid of the cruiserweight division and just incorporate them into the rest of the superstars.

Bad move by WWE by canceling talking smack.  >:(

It was one of the most entertaining things about Smackdown and allowed talent to talk off the cuff and not completely scripted, which is probably why the show was canceled. WWE today could be great but it just sucks.

Also Renee and and Daniel found out about the canceled show on Twitter.

They need to scrap the entire format and traditional wrestling set up at this point.  No more heels or faces.   Every week, a random lottery style drawing to pair up two different wrestlers to fight it out.

Actually, I should clarify. He looks like a GIANT gay Funaki on crack.

His music is cool, no question.
Lol he is pretty spastic when he comes into the ring and has those convulsions on the mat  ;D

I actually enjoyed raw this week. However I found a little disturbing that a few of their angles involved some worked shoots based on dirt sheet rumors. Not sure if that's the new direction the writers Are going with or if it's just a occasional thing. But I kind a got the feeling that they are out of ideas and just have to make storylines out of dirt sheet rumors.  Pandering to the smart marks.

This is what they've got to resort to.
That and bringing back former stars who put their time in and are now in other ventures doing other things in order to put butts in seats.

I like Elias and his gimmick.

Songs are often entertaining and the guy has a great look.

When you don't have competition in North America, your product becomes stale. The best thing that ever happened to McDonald's was Burger King.

I attended RAW this week. Was a great show. Got to see the Shield come through the crowd for first time in 3.5 years. Also Kane coming through the ring to destroy Roman Reigns.  :D
