Title: All major US stock indexes post record closes
Post by: 240 is Back on August 11, 2016, 01:23:05 PM
tocks closed higher Thursday, with the three major indexes closing at new record highs, amid sharp gains in oil prices and strong quarterly results from retailers.

"I think there are two main drivers here. One of them is oil," said Mariann Montagne, senior investment analyst at Gradient Investments. "The other part is this retail rally."

The Dow Jones industrial average closed about115 points higher, with 3M contributing the most gains. The 30-stock index also traded above a previous record high of 18,622.01.

The benchmark S&P 500 advanced about 0.5 percent, with energy rising more than 1 percent. The index also briefly traded above its previous all-time intraday high of 2,187.66.

Obama sucks for a lot of things, hilary sucks too.

But ask most people if they'd rather be living in the 2008 economy, or today's economy.  I mean, the govt was printing trillions of dollars to keep banks from defaulting - that was scary crisis shit which really did happen after years of Bush running things.

the weird thing is that a lot of conservatives feel they were better off in 2008...which is absolutely amazing...they are in absolute complete denial....sort of like how a lot of conservatives when asked, feel that Barack Obama was the cause of Hurricane Katrina when in fact HE WAS NO WHERE NEAR THE PRESIDENCY when it occurred.

That crash was the result of people being leveraged to the hilt and spending like drunken sailors on a binge night in Tijuana.

We all knew that asshole with the 40 year adjustable rate mortgage who could BARELY make the payments and was wiped out financially after being laid off for a month.

It's more a story of both the banks who supported this reckless nonsense and people like that needing a slap in the face more then anything Bush had to do with it.

An interesting note is that a lot of southern blacks think George Bush was responsible for Katrina, via the use of his hurricane machine.
