Title: YouTube Vids Problem?
Post by: Desolate on August 12, 2016, 08:24:38 PM
Anyone here having trouble posting YouTube videos?

After I post, all I am seeing is a black strip where the video should be?

Is anyone else having this problem?

Please check the last page of the Star Wars: Rogue One thread for reference.

I see no black lines, and I'm using Firefox  / Windows 10.

You might as well try using a different browser because you'd have to be nuts to wait around expecting ron to fix it

Maybe a mod can figure it out.  Using Safari on a macbook pro and never had a problem. :-\

I'm surprised that the paranoid republicans on getbig are not saying that the black line is  Hillary trying to infiltrate getbig.

This embedded YT vid problem seems to be related with the Chrome browser, since it works fine with Firefox (Linux versions).

I've got news for you:

"On 12 February 2013, Opera announced it would drop its own Presto engine in favour of WebKit as implemented by Google's Chrome browser, using code from the Chromium project. Opera Software also planned to contribute code to WebKit."

I've tried multiple distros, but the current one is my favorite: Bodhi, which is a fast & flexible one with a Debian package manager.

Apparently it is a Google Chrome issue. Once I updated to the latest version of Chrome (Chrome Canary), the embedded videos worked. Here is a link to the page where I found the solution.

I'm using Internet Explorer 11.

I'm still seeing this problem.

Has to be something at Get Big because it isn't happening anywhere else.

Someone needs to get on this. >:(

X2. I have both Chrome and Explorer. I even uninstalled Chrome, and downloaded the newest version. Still nothing.

My only theory: This is an archaic forum. The problem resides on Getbig's end.

The newest version won't fix the video problem. You need to go with the beta version, Google Canary. A problem with this is that you cannot make it your default browser, so you'll need to click on the icon every time you want to use it.
