WTF!! I haven't seen him in a couple of years. Guy looks like he's 70+ years old. He was jacked and strong as fuck in the 2000's. He won the WSM competition 5 times! Dude has aged well before his years. He JUST turned 40 this month! :o
-
SHOCKING.. First 3 are of him a few years ago. The last is from last year (only late 30's)! :o :-[
-
He still looks more muscular than 97 percent of men in that pic that you say looks bad.
-
Maybe he is trying to fight at a lighter weight?
-
He is small and worthless to us now.
-
I don't know where he fights but don't you think they may suspect ped use? HRT doses only ::)

He can easily pass for 50 here.

Still looks muscular but obviously fighting is totally different from strongman. He always looked older than his years, I presumed when he was competing in strongman all those years ago he was already about 40
-
Physique looks phenomenal in the photo with the big tyre, the thick waist and abdominal hypertrophy rather than detracting from the look actually make the physique look even more impressive, looks as powerful as he is/was
-
wonder how much he lost on his bench ???
btw, his punching technique/form still sucks
-
henda would marry him! 👌
-
He is small and worthless to us now.
-
He was dominating strongman when I first got into training. I remember thinking at the time as a deluded teen that his physique was a realistic natural target to aim for. ;D
-
Better looking physique then 99 percent of the IFBB.
-
He is still muscular. it was only because he was so freakish that he looks smaller now. And how long do you expect him to blast AAS for? If you put him next to any other 40 year old he would like muscular in comparison.
-

this plus the food amounts he ate for yrs, slamming gear multiple compounds/dosages for yrs,,his body or doc or his brain told him to get 'normal'whatever his normal is or suffer later in life...2 bodybuilders off the top of my head who were'big'and gradually downsized for longevity quickly was yates/haney smart and they look great at 50 plus...
-
He was huge and strongman champ. Went into MMA, never amounted to anything, became a twink.
-
He fights in M1?
-
This leads to the age old question, great responer or heavy user?
-

he's getting the rewards of his hard labor..... ;)
-
Damn - looks like just an average schnook now.
-
He always had an old mans face - not much changed. Granted he looks kinda twinkish compared to his former gargantuan self.
Face is a mix of KatiaNobili and Louis Defunes. :P

I saw him at a club here in Poland bout 12 years ago and he looked to be in his 40s even then

nothing unusual, just a tired old example of what happens when peds are stopped. he's not worthless and if anybody seriously thinks tha ped usage is somehow making you worthwile in this life, they should be shot with the rest of the trump white trash...
cleanse the planet

he is still using, just not blasting like a madman like he did during all those years. he still looks good for his age and was a total beast during his prime.
ped usage made him top dog in the game, so do not know what the fuck you are talking about. there are no records without PEDS. btw you sound like a bitch.
prolly another gimick- the liberturd role.
-
The video of him and that other male bb'er, swimming in the pool, was creepy.
-
::)
He most likely has opened bigger bottles than you
:D
Is that nice?
-
one of the baddest dudes on the planet in recent decades? wrong to say that?
he has always had an older face as many guys have stated, guy has lived a great life (assuming so) and now focused more on health than being big and huge
-
Probably feels great at a lighter body weight. I'm sure he's still a pretty strong guy.
-
Drugs are just the finishing touch...
-
ok bros lets be fair here
he is fighting mma, is he that good ?? not really but hes really popular in poland.
so he is making more money fighting mma in poland than he ever would have doing worlds strongest retard or they gay ass sport of professional bodybuilding.
-

Benching 135 for reps.
-
Sport specific training.
Makes sense.
-

His face always looked old in the face (even when he was in his early 20's), but his body has caught up in the last couple of years and now he looks like a 77 year old man all around.
-
He hasn't lived the most pampered life. All those sports take a toll.
-

He looks good for his age? He JUST turned 40 THIS MONTH!!! He looks "okay" for a 65-70 years old man. Not a man who just left his 30's. Dude's body has died on him.
-
He hasn't lived the most pampered life. All those sports take a toll.
He's been a millionaire since his early 20's and has been treated as a celebrity in Poland since 2000. While his face always looked old and wrinkled, his body had a youthful look and an insane amount of muscle on muscle. Now his face looks ancient and his body is that of a 70 year old man. It's shocking for me seeing how huge of a WSM competition fan I am. He last competed in 2009 and looked amazing. WTF happened since then? It looks like he turned into a grandfather and he is exact same age as me! My 39 year old friends do not look that old and decrepit.
-
The stress all the heavy exertion has done will age him at a faster rate

I know he is a huge star in Poland, like Lebron is in America.
Where did he make his millions, is strongman that lucrative in Poland?
-
who cares if he looks older than most.
home boy has lived a good motherfuckin life - prolly already self actualized - not trolling
-
just like dorian he never looked young

I remember reading that he has various buisness interests including a chain of supermarkets and a haulage firm, he has said himself there is little actual prize money in strongman
-
Just drug free and older now that's all
-

If a fucking strongman is a star then that country doesn't have much going on.
-
He realised he had to change his body if he wanted to fight.
-

http://transport.pudzian.pl/en/ .
He also had pieces of a security/executive protection firm (which, as an aside, is a career a lot of these ex-Eastern Bloc strongmen go into), and I think at one point a club or two.
Him and his brother actually have a band that is very successful in Poland too -
.

-
Those kind of muscles were only going to be a hindrance to any fighting ability, so he had slim down in order to be able to move and strike faster and therefore with more power.
-
Even today he's probably stronger than several "pro" bodybuilders.
-
If a fucking strongman is a star then that country doesn't have much going on.
I know a couple from Poland and they insist Mariusz is their Michael Jordan/Lebron James.

You must be a particularly scrawny goober. Your posts reek of resentment towards strong, powerful and large men.
Not to mention you're incredibly ignorant about muscle, speed and force.
In almost ANY non-sporting physical altercation, someone as massive, powerful and functional as Mariusz used to be would simply destroy an opponent. That he's lost so much is because he trains MMA, which eats calories and tissue like no tomorrow, and focusses on combat as sport, which by its nature requires excessive cardiovascular capacity. Timed rounds and pacing and severely limiting rules.
Real life fighting isn't reflected very intensely in MMA.

Because fighting with a roided suit of muscles doesn't work.

No.
His drugged up build was not right for combat sports, that's why he slimmed down.
If you've ever done any combat sports, such as Muay Thai, you will realise that those muscles would slow him down and just be extra dead weight.
He's now training as a competitive fighter in a ring sport, and not just to lift heavy things off the ground.

x2
in a typical physical confrontation down the pub or on the streets given a choice of fighting a 145lbs mma guy or a prime mariusz at 320lbs, one of the strongest men on the planet yet still more agile than most guys, with his years of boxing experience to boot would seriously fuck up 99.9% of ordinary men in a very short space of time, the damage a man like that can do in a fight would be immense.

Coming from a guy who has never fought in a ring against a professional trained to knock them out and thinks a 'fight' is a bunch of drunk guys brawling down at the pub.

That is why I specified in an ordinary fight you fucking clown which at the end of the day it's what really counts when it comes to self defence as if you get attacked/confronted your hardly going to say hold on while we get a ref, gloves ect and meet in a cage/ring at a specified date.
I like the way you you highlighted "fight" as if it isn't a real fight unless it's in a ring when most "street fights" are far more violent nasty affairs than "cage fights", if you believe otherwise your a fucking idiot and obviously think cos you roll around a mat with your sweaty legs wrapped around another sweaty man you know it all.

A 'real street fight' with 'self defence' usually involves weapons, such as knives and guns, you ass-clown.

No they don't unless it's a fight involving nigs or little scrotums with no other means of defending themselves unless armed, we don't even have guns over here.

I hear this all the time. MMA doesn't translate into hand to hand street fighting. This is such an astonishing naive and stupid statement on so many levels that it defies simple common sense. Only one who has ZERO experience with an MMA fighter, not little experience, ZERO, would say such an patently ignorant statement. Again, on so many levels that go beyond the one making the moronic claim.
Just on conditioning alone the MMA fighter is just in another league. He's training daily. I'm sure "Big Dragon" doesn't have a discipline training program judging by his doughy physique. And the level in combat sports is the highest it's ever been -- EVER? When competition and big money is on the line people innovate. They do things now never imagine just ten years ago.
"Oh", you say, "The street fighter can gouge you in the eyes, pull your hair, kick you in the balls... Well, guess what? So can an MMA fighter and they did in the original UFC and still do in Vale Tudo in Brasil.
And do you honestly think an aspiring MMA fighter just walks into a gym having no experience in fighting at all? They go into MMA because most have been in countless street fights and love. Love the violence and brutality. These are not betas but naturally violent and aggressive people whom many would also be in prison if it wasn't for MMA. Unlike the "Big Dragons" in the world they want to take their fighting to another level instead of bullying those that don't even know how to properly throw a punch or have the physicality, training and technique to kick and do take downs and locks and chokes.
Now Mario is a trained fighter and knows a few things and because of his size, strength,
athleticism he can overcome a more experience and certainly smaller and weaker opponent. But an untrained 275 lb strongman will easily get choked out by a 145 lb experience, competitive MMA fighter.
Look at Mario here, even trained and conditioned for his new career, was no match for a washed up, fat, out of shape Tim Sylvia who was never top of the top as he had a brief rule in a very shallow and weak division. Look how Mario at 8:23 gets so winded, that this driven world class athlete loses all will to fight, and he just collapsed out of exhaustion. All that muscle and strength now useless. Imagine a "Big Dragon" type who has very little or no experience training regularly as a fighter but just bullying the weaker with a gun close to his side trying to go against someone who does this shit every day. Every goddamn day?
I like you, Fortress, but you are so, so off on this one. You've never trained MMA and have no first hand experience with MMA fighters.
Everything a street fighter can do an MMA fighter can also do -- only better.
-

Wrong, wrong, wrong! Most street fights rarely end in the brutal manner that a lot of MMA fights do. Just look at the athlete's faces after an event. Look how spent these highly conditioned athletes are in a fight to the finish. Most street fights end quickly with one getting knocked down and quitting and the other walks away because he's most likely winded. Now in a gang attack it's different. The cowards now comes out of the darkness and start boot stomping on the downed victim now that there is no risk in being hurt. Then things go very bad for the victim.
Also, guess what? And MMA fighter knows how to use weapons as well. Most likely better because it's what they are into. But for my purpose and argument I'm referring to one on one, no rules (street fight), hand to hand combat to counter the argument that MMA traning doesn't translate into no rules hand to hand combat.

Im not wrong at all, just going off what I've seen over the years, most "street" fights between two men who can actually fight and don't go down/give up after one or a few shots usually end up with one or even both getting fucked up really bad in a short space of time, have a good family friend who for best part of 2 decades was "top dog" (sorry don't know how to phrase it without it sounding daft) in our local area, some of the harder fights he had were very nasty violent affairs normally ending with the other guy hospitalised, far worse than any mma match I've personally seen. Not saying this is big or clever just stating what my my experience of the subject is. I know this is using the exception to prove the rule and the vast majority goes like you say it does, just not always

Nope. By far, most street fights and brawls start because two men, often a bit tipsy, come to some disagreement and/or argument and lose their temper. These "combatants" are rarely trained fighters and wind up flaying at each other have little or no idea what they are doing until one gives up or both get winded. It's probably been years before either of them has ever been in a physical altercation in years.
Now there's always the "Kimbo" type who are thugs and are tough as nails and do know how to fight and do so, often. Much like your top dog guy. But these are rare
exceptions. Often with brutal consequences because two harden thugs are much more likely to fight to the real finish. Naturally tough, badass, hard fellas. But just like there are few obvious bbers out in public, even less so with trained fighters with a fighting mentality and spirit. Most people, despite their posturing, do not want to get into a physical confrontation and only extreme anger and alcohol push them over the edge which they wish to end quickly once it starts.
BTW, despite being a legit thug and trained street fighter you might remember that Kimbo never fared well once he was thrown in with the pros.
And the problem with exceptions are just that. They are exceptions. I was addressing the claim made by fortress that MMA training doesn't translate well in no rules (street fighting), hand to hand combat.
All else being equal, say two clones, but one is an MMA pro and the other a street brawler, the MMA fighter will win 99.9% of the time.
There's always that lucky punch.

I sort of realised the same thing as I got to the end of typing my post which is why I added the bit about being the exception at the end, my original point was against griffin saying it's not a real fight unless it's an mma fight which although true of the drunken shambles you see in most pubs every weekend is not always the case.
The toll all the fights took on the lad I knows body was immense, he needed a hip replacement at a young age, had numerous broken jaws which he never got pinned so often pained him, had 2 of his knuckles on his wrist. Also got ambushed a few times beaten with baseball bats and stabbed. Griffin hasnt a clue if he doesn't think "real fights" occour anywhere other than a cage/ring.

good point bro
I always wondered how my idol Mr Juilan Jackson would end in a street fight
my man has awesome knockout punching power, so me thinks if he landed a few shots real quick like it would be lights out for anyone he faces no matter how tough they are
but if they could avoid getting hit square and grab him then I think he'd be in trouble

I've been formally trained (admittedly, not in multiple-multiple sport-specified disciplines, a.k.a. "MMA"), sparred with many who do various forms of grappling, wrestling and striking, and been in dozens of fights: in bars, on streets, in jails ...
Your points are valid. However, you've missed mine.
I'm no cage fighter/MMA guy.
But I DO know fighting.

I've personally witnessed two deaths that occurred in street fights. Watched men die.
Real fights don't have refs, rules and stoppages.

I`ve seen some wicked brawls in my time............been in a few also.
Worked in a strip joint for 13 years.

None of you would stand a chance against Darren Avey.

one of the baddest dudes on the planet in recent decades? wrong to say that?
he has always had an older face as many guys have stated, guy has lived a great life (assuming so) and now focused more on health than being big and huge
He killed a person drunk driving, that's not so great.

True and then he changed the story once famous to that he did his jail time for beating up a local gang boss, despite the fact you can still see him admit the real reason by watching the 2002 wsm where he talks about it when interviewed

This could make for good material on a thread of its own. Care to share?

He's been a millionaire since his early 20's and has been treated as a celebrity in Poland since 2000. While his face always looked old and wrinkled, his body had a youthful look and an insane amount of muscle on muscle. Now his face looks ancient and his body is that of a 70 year old man. It's shocking for me seeing how huge of a WSM competition fan I am. He last competed in 2009 and looked amazing. WTF happened since then? It looks like he turned into a grandfather and he is exact same age as me! My 39 year old friends do not look that old and decrepit.
If he was a millionaire he wouldnt be gassing out his life in the ring, playing the 2nd tier fighter game. He fights because he needs the money.

What do you think of CM Punk going to the UFC? He didn't need the money, said it was for the challenge. Do you think this is the same case here?

So? That still doesn't address the claim that MMA training doesn't translate well to street fighting. MMA know how to fight without rules, rests and stoppages.
"Two deaths."? "Watched men die."
I expected to you to exaggerate about your fighting experience but....
OK, fortress, if you say so.

I imagine he fights these days more as a hobby, as a means to fuel his competitive desire, the same one that helped him win WSM 5 times. The guy inspired a ton of people to start working out and in his prime was about as perfect a blend of strength, build and athleticism as you can find

Yes, "not right" for "combat SPORTS". Training for a "ring sport".
Did you even read/comprehend my post? Unreal.
You're the one who couldn't grasp the difference between a bodybuilder physique and that of a professional fighter.
Next time I'll draw pictures for you to help you understand.
Maybe the mental stimulation will help you to distinguish between your c.unt and anus from your other cum-recepticle spewing shit in this thread.

Guys that say MMA guys can't fight in the street are just clueless imbeciles.

If I were in a real fight, I'd want to know all the mma I could. I mean come on, only to your advantage.

Of course. The more physical attributes and skills you possess, the greater your advantage. Never suggested different.
I'm perplexed by how everything I've said has been so twisted.
Training for combat sports with rules and weight divisions and paced rounds make athletes smaller and less strong. But the technique quotient becomes greater. In real-life combat, the attribute of technical skill comes in super handy.
However, the physical attributes of superior size and functional strength also advantage one in a real-life, no weapons, combat situation.
That most real fights happen on-the-fly and last for mere seconds, I think my points thus far are quite obvious.
Combat success is as much about being able to absorb punishment as it is about being able to dish it out. Street fights are a blitzkrieg, not a campaign of pacing, jab-jab and any notion of advisable take-down methodology.

Once you are on roids even if you train mma all day you will still be jacked.

I was a bouncer off-and-on for over 20 years, including a stint as the head/sole doorman at a strip club for two. I was raised in a tough neighbourhood in North Toronto and fought often. I trained Hung Fa Yi Wing Chung. And for the past five years I've worked as a law-enforcement peace officer, constantly receiving advanced instruction in control/immobilization tactics and offensive assault. All of which I use every week on the job.
I'm NOT a tough guy. I do not believe I'm some "killer" badass.
But I know fighting.

old time i completely agree a well trained mma fighter would destroy 99.9 & of the population out there in a street fight.
a college level wrestler would as well, them dumb ass street thugs would never be able to defend a take down alot of stupid people on this forum who know
absolutely nothing about fighting or the fighting skills of a well trained fighter.

Then I retract that post. I was not aware of your previous background and would have thought it would have been mentioned at some point over the years. Maybe I just missed it.
No hard feelings.

Certainly not. We engaged in discussion. It's how our scope of understanding evolves and refines. You're an intelligent guy.
