Yes he still looks good even today. A lot of crips got into bodybuilding or 'driving iron' as they like to call it. Stanley 'tookie Williams the most famous one but he inspired a whole load of impressionable young men to find love for the iron game.

In his book he talks about taking every opportunity to oil himself up and 'yolk out' particularly if there were admiring females in the vicinity..

To be fair to Trejo, that picture is pretty old, he has the ability to snap into shape quickly if need be.

As for Monson, he did a long (almost 90 minutes) interview a few months back -

I haven't finished it all, only skimmed, but it does have some interesting parts if you like old time bodybuilding talk.

Danny is aging pretty hard, yet it's what makes him so watchable in the roles he plays. He has that real life background as a badass and the looks to match. He is a great character in films and fun to watch. Love the Machete movies. They are stupid fun.

Meh, he looks fine for a guy in his 60's - 70's that wasn't known for being a physique star. You can pull up tons of other action stars that are the same or worse at that age.

As far as the face? So what, he was a guy known for looking craggy for decades. What's next complaining about Forrest Whitaker's eye? Robert Z'dar's Chin? Rondo Hatton's long face? He's a character actor, interesting looks usually comes with the territory.

More about Danny Trejo

Danny Trejo (/ˈtreɪhoʊ/; Spanish: [ˈtrexo]; born May 16, 1944) is an American actor who has appeared in numerous Hollywood films, often as villains and antiheroes. His films include Heat (1995), Con Air (1997), and Desperado (1995), the latter with frequent collaborator Robert Rodriguez.

Trejo is perhaps most recognized as the character Machete, originally developed by Rodriguez for the Spy Kids series of movies and later expanded into Trejo's own series of films aimed at a more adult audience. He has appeared in TV shows such as Breaking Bad, The X-Files, and Sons of Anarchy. He also appeared in the spoof movie Delta Farce as the killer Carlos Santana who in the movie keeps getting mistaken for the musician.

Trejo was born in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, of Mexican ancestry.

He is the son of Alice Rivera and Dan Trejo, a construction worker, and a second cousin of filmmaker Robert Rodriguez, though the two were unaware that they were related until the filming of Desperado.

Prior to his film career Trejo worked as a labor foreman in construction.

Throughout the 1960s, Trejo was in and out of jail and prison in California; Trejo has suggested that his physical appearance contributed to his constantly getting into trouble.

There are conflicting accounts of his prison chronology. By one account, his final term in custody ended in 1972; by another account, he did time in a juvenile offenders' camp and six California prisons between 1959 and 1969.

He recalled that his last prison term was five years. While serving in San Quentin Prison, he became a champion boxer in that prison's lightweight and welterweight divisions.

During this time, Trejo became a member of a twelve-step program, which he credits with his success in overcoming drug addiction.

In 2011, he recalled that he had been sober for 42 years.

Weider wasn't big on hiring Crips. Tookie was also under serious consideration by Weider to fill the void left by Sergio Oliva, who had defected to Dan Lurie's WBBG. Weider was ready to sign Tookie until he learned that Big Took was a Crip.
