__mrsheath__ - Phil had two huge hernias. One above his belly button that spread 2 inches wide on each side where his upper intestines were caught within the torn tissue and muscle and a lower abdominal hernia which was apart of his umbilical hernia that he was born with (which was repaired at age 2 and was done horribly wrong) this lower hernia was so bad that it tore from side to side, up and down causing Phil to have a 3 inch hole that was an inch deep and had 4 inches of his small intestines hanging over that hole. The doc was able to push his intestines 5 inches back down into his abdomen and tightened his abdomen together and closed the holes. The doctor came to me after the surgery in shock that phil was able to live this way. He explained that hernias are genetic and Phil was born with very little tissue covering his abdomen. Doc also explained that phil has been using only half of his abdominal muscles due to his hernia at birth. Phil has been an athlete all of his life and this hernia was a ticking time bomb. He explained that Phil was a day away from a very scary and possibly fatal intestinal strangulation. His belly button was more visible this year due to the fact that his small intestine was literally inside of it, pushing it forward right underneath the skin. He said out the 20 + thousand hernia repairs he's done.. this was one of the worst he's seen.

Phil accepts all the hate comes with being a Champion. The reality is... we live in a very troubled and hateful world! Phil and I have received so much vile and hateful comments and even death threats over his "stomach" this year. There is no denying that Phil was incredible on stage...bringing one of his most hard and conditioned packages yet! I'm still in shock he was able to do this all while in pain and days away from being hospitalized. ------------
------------------------------
I would like to thank all of his true fans and those of you who love the sport of bodybuilding. The positive messages that we received did make Phil smile. He's 7x MrO but he's a human being first! To those of you who realized that... THANK YOU! ----
Pretty obvious he had an umbilical hernia a while ago, no clue why this wasn't fixed earlier.... I think the bubble guts comments finally got to him and he got it checked out. I honestly don't buy this BS Story, I think it's GH related and he's getting plastic surgery/reconstructive surgery

Translation:
phil heath is going to remove two feet of instestine.
-
I had a double inguinal hernia. Recovery is not too bad.
-
Hope he has a full recovery. And this may make his waist more svelte, which as Luimarco stated, would enhance his physique.
-
Easy recovery. He'll be back in the gym within few weeks. Only problem is taking shits for few days after the surgery.
-

And walking. I had difficulty walking and pooping for about two weeks. Pooping is tough because you can't push too hard.

I didn't know this....glad he had the thing fixed but I hope that doesn't mean he's going to win again next year now??....Please no...

Same here.
Ignore SF1900, Jago. ;D He Never1AShow because the lone time that he competed, he chose to ignore conditioning for size, after saying "F*ck it, I'd ratherbebig." I was Disgusted with his conditioning.
PS - Phil has had multiple hernia surgeries? Yikes. I wonder what other pros have had it, that we have not heard about.

What a pathetic piece of fucking shit Heath is, so now his tiny belly button hernia is the worst the surgeons ever seen? What a heap of shit, there are plenty people living with massive ones far worse who can’t get an op, having to still work with it and just get by trying not to injure it further. Pathetic excuse for a ‘man’

I don't know why Phil's girlfriend is making it seem like a big deal. As stated, I had a double inguinal hernia and my intestines were popping out on both sides. I went in for surgery about 2 weeks later. It really wasn't that big of a deal. Sure, a hernia can become strangulated, which you can die from; however, to say that Phil's was the worst hernia in 20,000+ thousand surgeries, is a little outlandish.

What causes umbilical hernias?
An umbilical hernia occurs when the opening in the stomach muscle that allows the umbilical cord to pass through fails to close completely. Umbilical hernias are most common in babies, according to the Mayo Clinic, but they can also occur in adults.
African-American babies, premature babies, or babies born at a low birth weight are at an even higher risk of developing an umbilical hernia. There is no noted difference in occurrence between boys and girls, according to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Center.
An umbilical hernia in adults usually occurs when too much pressure is put on a weak section of the stomach muscles, due to factors including:
being overweight
frequent pregnancies
multiple gestation pregnancies (having twins, triplets, etc.)
fluid in the abdominal cavity
stomach surgery
having a persistent, heavy cough

Heath really should just stop talking, posting, communicating in any way - it would be slightly harder to tell he's retarded that way.

why push just let it slide out. I had inguinal in 96 and umbilical in 2010. No problem. And yes I ate the vicoden

Wasn't working. I usually give a slight push.
I can't even recall what pain meds they gave me.

I had an inguinal hernia repaired about 30 years ago. Didn't even know I had it until job promotion physical revealed it. Was it from weight training? I have no idea. Once fixed, it was never a problem again.
On the plus side, I had the surgeon replace my long ago dead testicle with a prosthetic one. The testicle died when I had the mumps at 14 and didn't say anything to my parents because I thought I caused the hugely swollen testicle by masturbating too much. I've often wondered how things would have been different had I had two working balls instead of one to get the rest of the way through puberty. Heck, I might have become the next Schwarzenegger....or maybe John Holmes. Either might have been fun.

That sucks. You probably couldn't take it up the ass during that time either.

To think he got on stage and posed for all of us while in such pain. So brave.

I had mine repaired about 14 years ago. My father, uncle and grandfather all had hernias. Genetics.
Since my repair, no problems.

I am sure hernias are not uncommon among bodybuilders. We have seen quite a few umbilical hernias step on stage over the years.

Luimarco.... the type of illiterate dude that reads out posts we can read by ourselves.

So brave, so humble. A true hero. ::)
-
They should chop that damn Penoris and then burn it.

That sucks. You probably couldn't take it up the ass during that time either.
If you have concerns about that you should talk to a doctor about what you and your boyfriend can do during the recovery time. You may have to stop being a bottom for few weeks.

He also steals our thread topics for his own vids. Done it to me more than once.

I also had an umbilical hernia. I didn't know what it was so I let it go for about nine months until it really started getting gross looking. Looked like a thumb was coming out of my gut and my belly was getting distended. Finally went to a doc and got it fixed and they put a patch over it. Really painful for the first two weeks. I wish I got it fixed right away but I was just recovering from knee surgery and didn't want to be laid up again. It only hurt in certain positions like when I put my arms over my head or doing leg raises. Ruined my stomach as it is permanently stretch out and distended.
-
Heath probably had what amounts to a mini tummy tuck. He will be ok in a couple weeks. Time for PCT

i'v had an umbilical hernia for for like 3years, maybe 4. was gonna get it fixed a couple years ago but the co-pay was like $900 and i said fuck that. about the same time is when i got involved with pain killers and kinda got away from bodybuilding for a couple years and the hernia wasn't too important anymore.
-
I don't always agree with Blaha but.. yeah...

That puts things into perspective, I didn't know that it could cause distension.
On another note, how is your knee after the surgery?

Mrs Heath whining and bitching like her husband
making 2 small umbilical hernias sound like they are life threatening- what a load of BS
the bubble gut is irreversible, hernia surgery wont fix it

It's a good thing Phil doesn't have cancer or he would have to leave himself.

I had both knees done back in 1995 where they cut over 90% of my cartilage and meniscus. It's been an ongoing problem for the last decade but has really caught up with me over the last 22 years. I see an ortho next Tuesday and see what my options are.

I totally get that a person's subjective experience cannot really be discredited. However, a "new lease on life" from a hernia surgery.
Oh, come on...................

Sucks to hear!
Do you think that today there would be a better option due to more advanced techniques "cutting people up" or are cases like yours(and most likely many others) bad either way?

How will you work if you can't be on your knees?

Imagine if he had gyno surgery she would be describing it like he had a mastectomy. ::)
Writing medical posts for Ronnie would be a full time job.

This is the trouble with the internet and especially Getbig. There is no way to establish truth or falsehood on the net.
If something is repeated often enough the Flotsam will believe it. Thus, hapless Shizzo is falsely accused here.
Even steadfast Pellius has been the victim of foul accusations in the past. Once tarred on Getbig it is rather pointless
trying to remove the feathers that always stick.
Posted without prejudice. Definitely no homo here.

I read his drunken confession. Tried to spin it on how brave he was for keeping an open
mind and "experimenting". In your case, it is just baseless attacks. I think it was because you
were taken pics of fellow hikers who happened to be "lads". Could have been grannies but
this is GetBig and people will spin it how they want to promote an agenda. Says more about the
accusers than you. They see gay and pedo in everything.

A lot of mentally challenged within. They resort to insults instead of wit to own others. The lowest insults are accusations of being gay. When those insults don't work they post the pedo label. Naturally this is done mostly by anonymous entities. Why the moderators tolerate such defamatory posts is a mystery.

Phil Heath is such a queen. Acting like his penoris of a bellybutton was about to execute sudden death on him. Oh brother ::)

Is this related to the usage of insulin and growth hormone?

Remember when Arnold had open heart surgery and didn't ask for thoughts or best wishes?

I've noticed in other threads he has started to talk about how fine some women are. An obvious ploy to try gain heterosexual credibility.
