in that position absolutely. Politics, true politics doesn't have the negative connotation that the bureaucracy has given it. Politics is about 2 opposing positions finding common ground, negotiating an outcome where both sides win some, give up some. To be successful at that level, you can't be a dictator, you don't own the company, and they don't have to do what you say. The art of getting people to agree with or work with you even when they don't agree with your position is very valuable.
