Maybe he was that way in the 80s, but in the 90's, at various events, he was a lot nicer and always gave the time of day to many fans.
It seems that quite a few bodybuilders, as they matured, changed from being cocky to being more respectful to others.

It seems that quite a few bodybuilders, as they matured, changed from being cocky to being more respectful to others.
I was going to say this as well. In the 80's Mike would have been pretty young, maybe even still in his teens. Most people are immature at that age and don't know how to handle it when strangers come up and want to talk to them out of admiration. I remember reading an article where Mike stated something along these lines.....where he felt uncomfortable when he started becoming known and people where always staring or coming up to him in the beginning. Once he realized it was just because they were fans of his he became better with it.

In the 1980s? Wasn't Mike born in either 1965 or 1966 - depending on the source you read - so he would have been max 24 when he saw you? Perhaps he grew up since then but who knows? One thing is for sure, he highly regretted bodybuilding.

The earliest contest that they have for him on record was the 1989 Golds Gym Classic, where he came in first. And he won the 1991 USAs.
So, by using the earliest date of 1989 (you never were specific of what date), are you really going to hold it against a 24 yr old for not trying to hold your attention during a convo that YOU wanted to have?

Despite his many physical flaws, he was my favourite bber, but what amazes me most is, he hardly improved his 1991 winning form.
I mean, eating all that food and on the edge drug use in his contest preps, balls to wall training didn't do him much good gaining extra muscle.

He made The choices To Eat What he Did
And take the Drugs he used
No one Forced him
Clearly he wasn't that daft not to realize there Could be some potential Pay back.

I liked Him
Only There are No guarantees in Life & eating excess amounts of red meat & various drugs
is likely to Roll the genetic Fault dice
I'm not knocking him for what he choose to do - Just accept it comes with risks
