American football formerly NFL Europe. I have players in Switzerland and Germany (GL1). There’s about 41 American teams and about 1500 teams total throughout Europe

Really??? Is your marriage strong enough to deal with the distance? Do you know that as an American citizen, you'll pay taxes abroad to the country you're based in and taxes at home? Its ruined many a tennis player, golfer etc.

I can only speak with authority on the treaty between the UK and the US, but that will probably have been in place in some form or another for several generations.
I can't imagine that other major European countries don't have the same deal.
