It's all outrage wall to wall today.
-
Most libs freeload off others wifi anyway so what are they complaining about ?
-
Because they’re socialists. They hate the free market and would rather have the government control everything.
-
Apparently it gives the private sector the ability to determine how fast your internet speeds run for various applications.
For instance what if ATT bought Netflix and allowed all their users to stream movies at a much higher speed while purposely slowing streaming times down for Comcast customers.
What if it only allows SC to download 300 photos of Obama daily instead of 800? ;D Unless he purchased a content-plus type package.
At least for now, all internet content is treated equally.
-

As I said, Liberals don’t like the private sector. That’s why they’re against it.
It’s just an undying faith in government to cure the world of the defects of the private sector. When what invariably happens is that the government makes things worse.
-
Is it true the laws that have been overturned were only in existence since 2015?
-

Do you know who hates this? Netflix. Why? Because they can clog up the pipes without being charged extra.
The biggest users of the bandwidth are essentially getting a subsidy. Does that sound like equality?
-

They were extensions of laws that began during the bush administration. And the problems that people are worried about were already starting to happen then.
-

Internet service providers and cable providers are virtually monopolies in most markets. For home service, you are lucky to have 3 choices and almost all of the major players are content providers as well as service providers.

Yes, and the government is a real monopoly not a virtual one.
-
I'm not... ;D

So, the answer is help establish more monopolies?

You know who else hates this? Facebook. Zuckerfuck has more money than God let him start his own ISP if he has such a problem.

Sounds like ObamaCare

Sounds like ObamaCare
At the end of the day it comes down to whether you want the government to have more or less control of the Internet. So a free market person is always going to want them to have less. A leftist liberal is always going to want them to have more. It’s pointless to go back-and-forth.

No, it doesn't. This is an insane argument that only makes sense through the lens of a mindless conservative agenda. The irrefutable result of the regulations was an internet with less centralized control.

It is like Obamacare. The difference between government and the private sector is that the government says to do something “or else” Buy OBAMAcare or else. Nobody says buy an iPhone or else. Buy Verizon FiOS or else.
The difference between government monopolies and private sector so-called monopolies is that the government ones never go away. Remember when every Libtard was bitching about Walmart being a monopoly. You don’t hear that anymore. Why? Because there’s this little company called Amazon that’s worth twice as much as Walmart.

Once again, you're on a page that I just don't get. The issue isn't whether or not you're forced to buy something. The issue is whether or not you have the option to buy something that actually works. And again, your argument is "there's one 'monopoly' I don't like so we should make more of them"?
-

Just tell them that Trump opposes it and they will suddenly flip their opinions
Trumptards are this board are so fucking dumb if Trump got into a Twitter feud with Viagra they would cut off their own dicks in solidarity
These will be the same idiots bitching next year when they suddenly have to pay more to get the same level of service they enjoy now for free (free = relatively speaking i.e. everyone is treated equally in terms of delivery of the "utility" of the internet)

Net neutrality is ridiculous regardless of what political party you're a part of. I’ll be on the internet much less if it becomes extreme.
-
If the left is melting over this then it must be a good thing.
-
I'm not... ;D
Do you consider yourself liberal?
-
I side with the libs on this issue.

Look a little into it

I'll be the first to admit I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not

on the other hand.. I recall deregulation of the air lines lead to a bad thing for people. I don't have an opinion either way on this but I do know in some cases, without government intervention, corporations have bent the public over throughout history

Lizzy IQ is on the low side.

I have. It doesn’t bother me. It allows capitalism to expand.

Of course. That’s why liberals and leftists are against it. That’s also why it’s pointless to argue with them. No matter what evidence you present they’re not gonna accept it simply because they hate capitalism. Do you think Elizabeth Warren is going to buy in to anything you say? Or Bernie Sanders? Of course not, they’re going to bitch about how the evil corporations are going to make billions.
Just look at the people here for net neutrality and the ridiculous arguments they’re presenting. These are people whose instincts get laughed at by Georgica Costanza. What the collection of them know about economics could fit into a thimble.
Bernie Sanders
Bernie Sanders
@SenSanders
The FCC just voted to repeal #NetNeutrality. We must do everything we can to stop this egregious decision from taking effect.

LOL What evidence have you provided? I'm still waiting for one argument about this from you that makes sense. Y

You’ll get nothing and like it. I’m not entertaining your OCD on this one.
-
Still don't understand this whole thing....
What's the problem either way?
Companies charge whatever they want anyhow....
So now I'm going to pay my ISP more? Who says...?
I don't understand.... I can't go on certain websites? Is netflix going to have to raise prices?
-
The internet was fine before 2015 and will be fine now. More fearmongeting by libs
-

It’s simple fucking math for Gods sake. Just like your stupid idea of a single payer. Holy shit ::)

Bandwidth costs money. Netflix takes inordinate amount of bandwidth compared to guys like us who just might be going on Amazon or a website. Net neutrality allows Netflix to be treated just like us when in reality they should be paying more because they are using more. The subsidy that Netflix is essentially getting will eventually be passed on to the consumer, us. So we’re going to end up paying more for what Netflix is taking.
Libtards will deny this but these people have no ability to deal with reality and their argument is dishonest anyway because all they want is for the government to control more industries. As I said in another thread, this isn’t an argument between the big corporations and the little guy as some of the biggest corporations in the world are for net neutrality, companies like Amazon, Google, Facebook, and Netflix.
