Now instead of having drunks now they’ll be drunk and high. It’ll be in the in air where kids can smell it. We have a state government of inept retards all for the purposes of tax revenue. Colorado is already fucked.

Much rather have idiot douche bags betas getting stoned

Than :

Drunk
Lit off stimulants
Or on fckn hormones or able to possess them

Deca /aas are schedule III so ur old ass can go get from ur ‘DR’ ‘legally’ is u must possess it but I totally indesestand why it’s classifed as that - it’s medically viable,  useful but powerful

Banned in sports cause they WORK

But schedule I a plant is a travesty - hats off to Cali for putting nature first

Remember no one was hurt or died

Relax coach it's been legal here in Or and WA and it's just not a big deal at all. I feel ya on the steroid thing too, sucks that I'll go to bar for the stoners but they don't give a flying fuck about us having anabolics.

News flash for you. There have always been drunk and high people on the roads. Just like crime, laws do not stop crime, only thing laws do is put people in jail or cost them money. Now with cannabis being legal you think it's going to be more of a problem. Quite the opposite will be true. Kids smelling pot? So what? Nothing new there either. Look at all the problems alcohol has caused and still is, yet gets a pass. Cannabis does not have any of the problems that alcohol does.
I do agree with you on the steroids. As long as people can legally eat at McDonald's how bad can steroid usage really be?

Aside from using for legit pain, McDonalds is more of a health benefit that weed. With kids smelling the weed it makes them more curious even more than alcohol. I see most kids that come in as freshmen fairly innocent, good grades, good athletes then after integrating more with upper class men or the wrong people you see kids that go from A-B students to barely passing or not at all throughout their high school years. This will make it worse.

Bullshit. Sounds like foxnews scare tactics. Cannabis  has been around schools and young people long since any of us where thought of. It's a known fact that when something is labeled taboo that young minds become more interested in it than if it where the opposite. Case in point, young people in parts of Europe are brought up with alcohol in such a way that alcoholism is rare over there. Sex is more open over there and there are less sexual deviants as over here. Legalizing cannabis use will take away the taboo of it and young people will be less interested. Give kids some credit man, those that want to do it will always find a way. Besides it's only available to those 21 and older just like alcohol,  so there goes your high school kid argument.

Just ignore laws and do whatever you want. Most of the time nobody cares about most "illegal" stuff. They don't exist if you don't weigh them so heavily. Just don't be stupid about certain things and do your stuff in reason.

Steroids are illegal and yet most of us use them, alot of people sell them as well as use them and have them in large quantities. Fuck the laws lol.

How obnoxious would it be all the growing number of hipster loser f4ggots walking around EVERYWHERE with blunts in their hands and weed smoke everywhere all over the country like it was the 70's san diego all over again? I think the obnoxiousness of the outspoken betas is what's keeping it from being completely legalized. They just don't want to see those pussies happy and i don't blame them.

not sure how the law would/does work. but with alcohol in many countries it's technically illegal to walk down the street openly drinking a can of beer or whatever. only legal in a place licensed to sell it or private property. i suppose something along the lines of that would be acceptable to most.

Actually the laws take effect today at 6 a.m. (or *took* effect as it is now 8 a.m.)... weed smokers had to wait until 6 a.m. before they could walk into a dispensary and purchase legally for recreational use.

The problem is when things are so heavily regulated they become more desirable, look at alcohol for instance, in Europe I don't even think they have a drinking age, my cousins in Italy started drinking at 12 years old, alcohol isn't something forbidden to the youth until they turn 21, yet you don't see DUI's there or people in the ER for alcohol poising or AA, it's just not a big deal there. As well as nudity, hell their local news papers and variety tv shows commonly have nudity in them, in America that is unheard of.  I've been to Thailand, in Thailand you can walk in to a pharmacy and get anything you want, Antibiotics, Viagra, Steroids, pain medications, etc.. yet you don't see Thai people abusing these drugs, if these drugs were legally available over the counter in America, there would be lines hours long to purchase these medications, all because these things are so strictly regulated here in the US.

Well, aside for the overwhelmingly down side to weed, this is more about a revenue stream for the state because they don’t know any other way (like tax cuts) and just something else to tax. They couldn’t give two craps about the individual themselves.

No. There are laws/ restrictions just like alcohol and tobacco. Generally speaking you can't smoke weed anywhere you can't smoke tobacco.

Also.cant drive under the influence like with booze and whatnot ( that applies to all prescription drugs actually. For instance you can't legally drive under the influence of say Vicodin or even benadryl (yes, you can get a DUI from Benedryl, ssri's as well if it impairs you).

I understand your perspective, honestly I don't know much about weed, I smoked maybe 4 times my entire life, I really didn't see what all the hype was about, but as someone stated, everyone that likes marijuana is already smoking it, so they mine as well legalize it/tax it and make a shit load of money. It's already widely available if you want it, kids are going to have to be accountable for their own decisions in life, its the parents job to nurture their children and inform them of the dangers of doing anything that can effect them in a negative way.

No, you can't smoke in public or you'll face a fine.  And you'll have to answer to cop on the scene, who may decide to work it for everything it's worth.

Well, aside for the overwhelmingly down side to weed, this is more about a revenue stream for the state because they don’t know any other way (like tax cuts) and just something else to tax. They couldn’t give two craps about the individual themselves.

I've talked about this a little bit before, but one of the main things that happened today with marijuana is that cultivators are no longer allowed to sell directly to dispensaries. (Used to sleep with a supplier  chick  who supplied 80% of the valley . Technically she was a middleman/woman. And more recently was sleeping with a lady who was a licensed cultivator who owns an enormous Grill House..also security for her) There has to be a third party. There has to be a middleman now. So now if youre a cultivator, you have to sell the middleman first and the people who got the licenses to distribute marijuana or the people who already had licenses to distribute alcohol. Supposedly it was easier that way rather than vetting a whole new industry. I forget who's responsible for rent the testing and quality control of the product now if it's the cultivator or the middleman... Not bangin the chic anymore to ask. I believe the cultivator supplies the middleman with the raw product and it's the middle man's responsibility to test (they test for fungus eggs bacteria pesticides herbicides.. Shit like that. in addition to testing the THC, CBD,& CBN )  and package it... I think that's how it was explained it to me.

Every kind of product changes hands it's got to be text. Every time a product is tested it's taxed. Not sure what they're going to do about banking and what not cuz as of a a few months ago we were still doing cash transports. I was reading an article in the paper no long ago with a high end boutique style dispensary owner who is saying he was working on "very thin margins"... Total bullshit. The First Lady, the supplier, explained it that for the most part the guys running the dispensaries (at least back then, before recreational use laws were passed and the big money investors started getting involved) didn't have a whole lot of business experience. Meaning the accounting was I bawled and kept simple as far as profit margins and what not.

Basically meaning "everything was doubled" along the pipeline, and that was coming practice in the industry. (Ill start from the top down, price wise) let's say a dispensary charges $20 per gram of "top shelf" stuff (Girl Scout Cookies or Gorilla Glue #4 for example). They purchased it for $10/gram from the supplier lady, who in turn purchased it from either a grower or another middleman for $5/g... so long as everybody was on the same page and everybody was a team player in the industry everybody got a little bit of money, sorta like our steroid industry. All of us have generally accepted minimum prices that we charge for any particular product...

and I guess it took awhile for these potheads to put two and two together and realize that if the cultivator and it retailer we're closer together they were both turn a higher profit by eliminating the middleman. No more of this "doubling" bullshit. The cultivator knew what the retailer was charging for their product and what they were paying, and the retailer knew what the cultivator was charging for their product... For the most part.

So instead of the cultivator charging $5/g, they can charge $7.50... And instead of the retailer/ dispensary paying $10/g, now they're paying $7.50, so both the Growers and the dispensaries are pulling in a lot more cash now, so adding in the gov't regulated middleman (I don't mean government agents or some shit. I just mean companies licensed by the government the same way the ATF or Bureau of Alcohol whatever checks in on Jack Daniels to make sure they're doing everything right or some shit) is the first step in the government getting its share of the profits via taxes.

I believe the cultivator lady said she can still sell two individuals so long as they have a medical card... Crap, maybe it's the other way around maybe back then she could still sell it, hell she could even mail it so long as the person receiving it had a medical card, but now with the new law maybe now she can't sell it directly to end consumers.. Whatever.

The law passed because the government knew it was sitting on a cash cow and not collecting

there is no proof that it "kills gains" assuming one is not smoking all day every day (which would make it less likely you ever step foot inside a gym - hence no gains)

I know plenty of people who made gains while occasionally (and some not so occasionally) smoking pot

there is no proof that it "kills gains" assuming one is not smoking all day every day (which would make it less likely you ever step foot inside a gym - hence no gains)

I know plenty of people who made gains while occasionally (and some not so occasionally) smoking pot

what are your other 99 phony baloney reasons?

Thats your proof? Because you know "plenty of people"?

Several years ago I co-wrote with a cop friend of mind that a Sargent with the LASD. Since you like to argue with nothing to back up anything you spew be it poltical, training or otherwise, this won't be of much help to you. But this doesn't get through to the people that are actually serious about training, health or fitness and they keep smoking it or consuming it and still want to make excuses for the use....they/you are addicted.

I'm told personal experience is a bad example of proof because you probably remembered your experiences wrong.
Would never hold up to scientific scrutiny.

But some of the research came from less conservative sources. Hey bud, go smoke your weed. I don’t care. Besides what I just posted the main point is the law is an excuse for revenue, not because law makers give a shit about anything else.

Of course it's an excuse for revenue. Law makers don't make a move towards anything that is otherwise. Over 2/3 of all congressional activity is regulating laws towards business and taxation. Nothing new here, the upside is decriminalization of a naturally grown harmless plant. There will always be those whom cannot do anything in moderation. There will be those who are or become dope heads. I would rather see that than more alcoholics.

12 step grpoups are all over the world including europe, they are just more the second word Anonymous in those places rather than in the states and canada where it is more out in the open

True, there are help groups for those in need all over the world. His point was that America has the need for more help due to its population being perverted by its Christian base. Americans are controlled by the nanny state for what they can watch and see on tv, drink, sex, etc ,etc. It creates drug addicts and sexual deviants. If these things where more the norm we would have much less problems.

You bet they are concerned. Their bottom line could be at stake. Thankfully the state's can make their own laws regarding this. Otherwise the Fed's would have full control with the pharmaceutical companies funneling hard cash to keep it illegal.
Essentially the state's are now seeing the great revenue gain from this and it will not go away due to that.

....making California law makers and those who support it that much more stupid. But get caught with a bottle of deca, you’re a felon.

Your problem shouldn't be with marijuana legalization, it should be with steroid criminalization.

Furthermore, just because you go into a state of panic attack or even psychosis on marijuana, doesn't mean that others do.  Sure, I see nothing but laziness coming from it generally, but some of my friends [who are all lazy girls] say it makes them productive.  Amazing how people with $40,000 in debt, no education, no future, nothing, can continually tell me how marijuana has been such a Godsend for them, but whatever.  ::)

My point is, experiences vary.  And it's not up to you or I what other people put in your body.  Presumably, since you formally used steroids, you are really in no position to speak on that.

If your issue is the hypocrisy or stupidity of allowing marijuana while banning steroids, then I'm with you.

Nah, pot isn't really medicine aside from very very few cases. Most who claim it's for medicinal reasons just want it to get high.

Big pharma already owns patents on mj-derived meds. There re already suffering from push 2 not prescribe opiates or painkillers as much.

Give me a trillion$$$ and I'd own a tobacco company to keep my big Pharma company in business with cancer and cardiovascular drugs, and I would also cultivate marijuana with the Tobacco Company, to.cover my "medicating" bases, since marijuana apparently treats everything.... Actually, when going to school for Horticulture/Landscape design back in a 'oh, about 2009 or so, teacher was talking about r.j. Reynolds buying up land to grow marijuana in the future (and also apparently buying up land in Illinois to grow tobacco. Dunno how that came up)... believe I would also own a Rehab facility to treat the people addicted to the big pharma's opiates and benzos.. Hell, I should also own a vodka company producing cheap vodka. You can smoke my weed while detoxing from my.vodka you started drinking to detox from the benzos you started to detox from the oxymorphone you started because the weed of mine you were dabbing didnt do shit for the pain from the throat surgery from my tobacco.

Sounds like a blueprint for success...

Let's be honest, Making it legal for recreational use we'll probably make it so some people will try it who have never tried it before and before it was recreationally legal they likely had no intention of trying it. Now those people have abstained from marijuana until now, despite it not being all that hard to get. I'm going to go ahead and say most likely those people who have abstained and had never even considered trying marijuana until now will likely continue to smoke marijuana after they first try it.

Not everybody likes weed. I'm not a fan. I don't get the Pleasant affects the people claiming they get. When trying it, I always end up regretting it and I can't wait for it to wear off.

The highlighted is one of the bigger reasons. I wasn't exaggerating when I said McDonalds was 100x healthier than weed and that goes the same for steriods as well....there is NO comparison. This is the dems playing on securing the millennial voteand driving revenue because they're underhanded and actually think by legalizing this will drive a permanent tax to the people of California. Again, hasn't been that long since Colorado legalized it and so far the state is turning into a shit show. If someone really thinks that Dems have YOUR best interest, they're retardedly misinformed or f;at out stupid. There is no other choice

Sitting on my front porch in the summer smoking a joint legally, as openly as one would smoke a cigarette, or enjoy a soda......... while watching the southern Colorado sun paint a red, purple and pink  masterpiece across the majestic, alpine desert backdrop of the Rocky Mountains?
Well this is as close to "content" as I've ever been.

To think that anyone would find this harmless pleasure "wrong" seems ridiculous to me.

Nah, pot isn't really medicine aside from very very few cases. Most who claim it's for medicinal reasons just want it to get high.

It has several medical uses: antinausea, appetite stimulant, antiepilectic, sleep aid, and--perhaps most importantly--treating chronic pain.  States that legalized marijuana experienced significant decreases in opiate ODs.

I agree with you that most use weed to get high, but the therapeutic effects of the plant should not be overlooked

43. Marijuana use may cause or trigger paranoia, hallucinations, flash backs, depersonalization, depression, aggressiveness, toxic psychosis, bipolar, schizophrenia, social withdrawal, irritability, paranoia, anxiety, nervousness, anger, insomnia, violent outbursts, suicidal thought, severe changes in appetite and delusions.

Why did you say paranoia twice?  WHY DID YOU SAY PARANOIA TWICE?

You bet they are concerned. Their bottom line could be at stake. Thankfully the state's can make their own laws regarding this. Otherwise the Fed's would have full control with the pharmaceutical companies funneling hard cash to keep it illegal.
Essentially the state's are now seeing the great revenue gain from this and it will not go away due to that.

WTF man.

There are going to be a ton of stoner idiots losing their licenses real soon and paying huge fees to the state for smoking their shit. State will make a ton off DUI's for weed. There are at least 100 reasons but for the sake of training, it does absolutely nothing and it does "kill gains".

How exactly would it kill gains, through what mechanism?
Do you know how many top powerlifters smoke weed regularly, even before training? A couple of lifters/coaches I've seen speak positively of it on the net are Greg Panora and Swede Burns and Brandon Lilly and Brandon Allen, just to name a few. How many of the top bodybuilders smoke weed regularly? Hell of a lot.
MJ may affect some negatively psychologically speaking (as well as help others) but I don't see how it would hurt physically. In fact, it may have many physical benefits for athletes.

IME it can be real therapeutic post training in the evening. At the same time it can actually help some train harder, it does not necessarily make you a lazy bum in the gym.

I would think legalization of weed would concern the big pharmaceutical companies since many people will be able to self medicate and not rely on popping pills.

Don’t you think but pharma might just be funding some of these growers?

People don't want to be fit and strong because even on steroids that requires some effort.  However the majority of people seem to want to be high, ergo dope is legal in Kommiefornia.   Dopers want to be dazed and confused and there's more of them than there are fitness minded people.

You can bet if those roles were reversed then stayroids would no longer be ostracized in the State of Shit known a Kommiefornia.  Doubtless stoners will be pissy about the next statement I make but I think dope is for retards.  Why you would want to repeatedly alter your state of consciousness/awareness is beyond me.

The products that began flooding the market, appearing to be various forms of concentrates, work toward removing power from the consumer by handing it to big business through their revolving door with the government.

The products further steal power from the consumer by way of forming a "crack v coca" argument to be used against them in the future.

Potentially worse, even, is that protective substances found in regular marijuana (thought to be certain oils tmk) may not be in found in many of the products, possibly setting up (at least) the first generation of users for trouble.

This is the path Big Pharma travels down, as expected, in their plot to seize control of cannabis.

The war on drugs is an ABYSMAL failure. It has not worked. Just google, "The war on drugs" and you will see why it has been a monumental failure.

On the other hand, I am not necessarily saying that all drugs should be 100% legal. However, two points:

(1) If the war on drugs is an abysmal failure, why keep doing the same thing? Einstein said, "Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting the same results." The government keeps thinking that the war on drugs will change things. It won't. It's been proven to be ineffective. Something else needs to be done. Their current methods are not halting anything.

(2) The government has an obsession with what people stick into their body (drugs). The funny thing is that you have child molesters serving a lot less time than drug offenders. Where is the "War on Child Abuse" or the "War on human trafficking?" It's missing. The government seems a lot more obsessed with what people stick into their body than what adults do to children. Strange.

Some of the freaks out there who claim to be operating on our behalf, through government, love it that drugs are illegal.  They can quickly make a huge stash of money they don't have to acknowledge to anyone as holding, and there's no accountability involved in spending it.

They don't care about kids getting hooked, obviously, since they have an interest in seeing consumption increase.

Marijuana has become an important part of my pre-workout , I smoke while I'm getting ready to lift and in between the first few warm up sets. I find this quickly gets me into the "zone" mentally. I prefer a quiet but intense focus most of the time as opposed to emotionally amping up like some do and this fits with that perfectly.

I can see how bodybuilders could really benefit from enhanced "mind muscle connection" while using it.

It would be the logical choice , but I use indicas or indica heavy hybrids pretty exclusively, they help narrow my focus from the million things I need to do after the workout etc. etc.

I'm one of those guys whose chemistry tends towards racing thoughts and social anxiety if I smoke high content Sativas , so I rarely use those strains.

The ultimate (for me) is edibles, they always help create a truly focused, killer workout.

Recently I spent a few weeks taking an energy drink, some heavy indica, and 100mg TNE pre-workouts and it was like being a 17 year old again, I felt fucking great and had to force myself to stop at my planned weights so as to preserve the planned progression for the next sessions.

So replace one drug with another?

Sure, assuming that the replacement has less side effects without compromising efficacy.  And in the case of cannabis/cannabis-derived medications, that's usually the case.

Some people are sick and need medications.  If you don't, consider yourself lucky.

Was in a part of town yesterday that is saturated with dispensaries and this Thread happened to come to mind, and this post in particular (is it proper grammar btw? I've always wondered if "particularly" and "in particular" were interchangeable. Hmm anyways...), plus I've been dealing with nausea, migraines, and some reflux/indigestion the past couple weeks, so I got onto WeedMaps and found the closest one sure as fuk wasn't going to go out of my way and I looked at their menu at their hybrids and sativas and checked Leafy.com for info on the low- priced shit and settled on a gram of AK-47 (Sativa-dominant hybrid), $11.16 with tax after a 10%-off either for me being a local or for me being a first-time customer I forget the reason she said. Waited till about 1am to try it. Took 2 small "hits" (amt of flower, unground, in the bowl was about no larger than the size of 1.5 pencil- erasers), & went for a walk around the neighborhood well browsing the internet and watching YouTube with earbuds in.

Gotta say, every time I try cannabis, it just reaffirms my prior view that Im not much of a fan. lol. Especially when it comes to sativas vs. Indicas (Indicas I tolerate a little better, various Kush's with the lowest THC possible.. Bannana Kush, Bubblegum Kush, etc..). I should have stopped after that first hit are you going to taken about half of that first hit... Even though neither of the "hits" or large

Now me, as a former opiate addict, and abuser of alcohol, you'd think that I'd be all over weed now that its legal. But, it just further illustrates that marijuana doesn't work the same for everybody and just by making it legal isn't going to open the floodgates for new marijuana users and future addicts. I couldn't imagine feeling like that during the day much less all day.

I think you said you are on baclofen and gabapentin. I think GABA agonists reduce the mind-bending effects of weed. Benzos can almost completely abolish the mental effects. I bet you would like it even less if you didn't use those medications - more paranoia and confusion.
I have a theory that people who have used a lot of GABA drugs, say booze or benzos, probably get more anxiety from weed.

I don't much like weed during the day either, gets too stressful, but at night when already relaxed it can be nice. Really enhances sex, food and music. Though I have made plently of PRs in the gym when mildly lit too. I feel like I'm lifting in a dream and gotta check videos later to see if I really did lift X amount of weight. :D

Anyone who has gone the distance with hard drugs, is less likely to achieve satisfaction through something like marijuana.  That must hold true as reliable information.  Not to say it doesn't happen, but it should take some reaching in any one case.

And (tmk) anxiety is closely associated with THC, while the opposite is true for most other active stuff in marijuana -- like CBD.  It's what serves to make experiences with marijuana such an oddly inconsistent thing, in the long run, being that THC and CBD are believed to rely upon less of one for more of the other.

Really, a strange plant.

I haven't taken either of those for a couple days though.

Maybe I'll pick up a g of straight Indica/Kush with a low THC %. Even then, anything more than 1 hit or "1/2" a hit is too much, esp since I'm not a regular user. Like in have the rest of that gram sitting somewhere, all 900mgs of it, & I have absolutely zero intent of trying it again today/tonight.

Shit actually made me even MORE nauseous last night(which is part of the reason I tried it last night.. Been having indigestion nausea past couple weeks I think getting used to regular food again).. Puked my guts out. Maybe a sativa heavy ak47 isn't the best choice for that, Indica may be a better choice lol.

Agree, but the problem is weed isn’t like that of 60’s or 70’s. It’s much more HIGHLY processed and hit and miss with as readily available it is. Maybe or maybe not these guys that are posting on here for it, don’t realize it. When we wrote that article the studies were non-partisan.

ONE TRILLION DOLLARS spent on the war on drugs and it has done nothing. Its like DARE--DARE has been proven to be ineffective, yet we still use it. DARE is a horrible program. But, it has a government stronghold.

I was a drug dog handler at one time in the military, then a cop for 24 years and I have to say, the drug thing became one of two things, either an easy felony arrest for crack, or who can seize the most drugs and assets to then split among the agencies. We stopped pretending it was because it was dangerous a long time ago.
I don't know what the answer is other than it sure as hell ain't what we've been doing for 40 years. Let's decriminalize and see what happens. Treat it like alcohol. Stop spending trillions on trying to stop it which does nothing, funnel a portion of that money into education and treatment and lets see if the cartels don't dry up, if murder rates don't drop along the borders and things get better. If they don't after 20 years, we can try plan B

If you think for one second you’ll ever get rid of drugs you’re high yourself. But enforce the existing drug laws and handing down harsher sentences will, in fact decrease fatalities and usage. The problem is liberals love not handing down harsher sentences because if they did it kill revenues to the states that legalized it. When you have kids let me know how youd feel that he/she told you they’re using because it “okay”. Until you have kids and despite anyone’s “higher education”....you haven’t a fucking clue until it’s your own.

Exactly.

It's just baffling that the "War on Drugs" has not worked. 100% failure. Yet, the government keeps going with the same narrative.

Again, I am not sure what the answer is; however, the current "War on Drugs" is simply not working. Something else has to be done.

Of course, drugs will always exist and people will always take them; you will never get rid of that and I am not implying that we should. But, as you said, perhaps decrminalizing drugs.

Coach, I'm sure you know a lot about physical fitness. But you apparently don't know drug laws at points have been so severe people would get 40 years for an ounce of weed (3 strikes rule). Usage did not go down. I'd rather deal with facts, stats and reality than the emotional cry of the right wing "What about our kids?"

Interesting fact, In Washington state a study was done of pot usage among High School students. Now don't automatically discard the info because it came from a study and not your gut.  2 years before it was legalized and 2 years after. Pot usage rose 3% among 8th graders and zero among 12th graders. In Colorado there was no difference in pot use among teenagers before or after. Shocking right?

I think its not even debatable that we are wasting billions a year on a war that can't be won. I would love it if no one used crack, alcohol, heroin etc but they do and they will, they always will unless something changes or even if something changes. But we know what we are doing isn't working so lets look at the studies and try and find a different solution

Its a pointless "War." Why spend money on something that does not work? What is the logic behind that?  ??? ???

You're just throwing money away.

The war should be on alcohol.  Of all the drugs I have had - and witnessed, no drug is more damaging to society.

It's the worse of them all.  It brings out the worst in the most people.  It is not the best socially acceptable tipple for society.

Most people are far far more respectful of their neighbour on other drugs.  If society were based on bars serving marijuana based solutions, there would be far less aggression and danger when people are driving.

I happen to find marijuana unusable - for myself.  It isn't enjoyable for me - but I sure as fuck know that if I'm walking along in the street (or driving down it), I want the person coming the other way to be stoned, not drunk.

There's nothing hit or miss or "processed" about it. People voting for it to be legalized know exactly what they're getting (20+% THC) and they're not citing studies from 60s or 70s studies. What makes it more potent today is breeding. Not processing.

The only processing going on is making the concentrates/waxes (not like hash hasn't been around forever).

If the stuff wasn't legal for recreational use, i wouldnt have picked up that gram yesterday. Bought this time last year I found a bag in my closet with about 7 little jars of various strains I'd gotten back in 2011 when I got my 1st & only medical card. Most the jars contained about 1/2-3/4 of the gram id gotten and just never finished. Once my.medical card expired, I never renewed it or bought any more weed (didn't Finnish the shit I had).

Not to mention the tax money California is bringing in from that shit. The gram I got was $10 then I got a 10% discount and I still ended up paying $11.16 (or maybe $11.46 didn't pay that close attention)... And i just got a gram. What is plenty of people who use that in a day and that's money the state would be never gotten without it being legal.

In some states you can (& do) get a 10-year sentence for simply heaven in your blood. Something called "possession by ingestion". It doesn't matter that you ingested It 2 weeks ago and you have pancreatic cancer and have a medical card in note from your doctor and live in California where it's legal.

For instance a guy living in California and has Medical marijuana card & ingests marijuana that's a weekly or maybe twice a week for a few months and then flies to South Dakota January 1st 4 a relative's wedding.

A week later, Jan 7th, After the wedding reception he drives away and he gets pulled over for suspicion of DUI, its a blizzard so they skipped a field sobriety test do a breathalyzer which comes back by .07 the cop decides it may be close (& this guy is from out of state) so he takes you into the hospital for a blood draw. they draw your blood and it comes out .06 or even .07, but they also test for drugs. Now the guy hasn't used marijuana for over a week now and where he lives is perfectly legal for him, however you still test positive because marijuana takes a long time to clear your system.

Now I stead of a DUI, the DA now has enough evidence to charge him with possession by ingestion. Because it's pretty black & white, if it's in your the guys blood he's guilty. There's no real way to fight it, and the DA isn't into making deals on slam-dunk cases. So he he's 10yrs, of which he'll only have to serve 25% (2.5yrs)... But it's still a felony drug conviction. And the person still does real prison time.

That is a COMMON thing in some states. All the DA cares about is the felony conviction. Especially in small communities such as South Dakota who is Prison Industries (it's actually called "Prison Industries".. they produce shit for profit and pay inmates $.25/hr to work for them) is a large source of income very large population of the state. For instance, where I was, the Warden at a particular present as well as the Secretary of Corrections were Partners in the company that ran the commissary. No such thing as "conflicts of interest" exist in places like that, especially when you have entire families husband and wife son's daughters uncle's nephew all working for the prison system in various positions as well as prosecutors and judges.

I purchased a couple of straws of honey with nothing but CBD in it for mixing with hot tea and it's effects were mild but noticeable, relaxing with no buzz whatsoever. Strange plant indeed.

The effect is almost always paired with THC in nature (obviously) so it wouldn't necessarily live up to expectations for someone wanting to "get high."  It should require some level of THC, to do that.

Just as mj in the past was often so low in CBD-like effect that it was not unfair to call it a "stupid" drug, even though it's now claimed to be innocent by comparison.  The fact that THC has been tempered, big time, leads me to believe the supply has actually become less dangerous (if that's the contest), than what it was when it was still commonly smuggled from the outside.

Let someone try it, then, and let's hope it works for that individual.  If the alternative is to have no satisfaction but to remain a junkie or whatever, then it's hard to believe it would hurt any worse.

Coca and poppies are plants as well. As are mushrooms.

I wish pot Advocates would stop using the argument "weed is a plant... not a drug along" with the term "medicate".

True weed isn't a drug however what you get along with the weed is THC. Which is a drug. Same thing with cocaine base coming from coca leaves, adding hydrochloric acid and you have cocaine hydrochloride. Morphine comes from the sap of a poppy flower, heading sulfuric acid you have morphine sulfate, acetate you have diacetylmorphine(heroin), and psilocybin coming from mushrooms... Etc etc...

People have been using the term, or the phrase, whatever, "God put this plant on the earth for me to use". Well, if God put a plant on the earth to use that would also include chewing on coca leaves, drinking poppy seed tea or smoking the raw opium, in between snacks of mushrooms  let's not forget alcohol from fermented fruit or just plain old tobacco)

Exactly. "It's not a drug"... what a joke. I would also say it's a rather strong one too, it can really put you on your ass. Not dangerous but it doesn't feel extremely mild at all imo.

Coach saying weed is 10 times more dangerous than TRT is a joke too though. Tons of potential health risks with TRT - it requires blood work to be reasonably safe, every expert agrees with this. But what doctor ever looked at bloodwork of a weed smoker and said he needs to go off because he is close to stroking out or having a heart attack?

The "danger" of weed is psychological if anything, not physical. Physically it can protect you, can even protect the brain ironically.

Most here are going by personal experience, what they hear on the street, read online and generally from sources that are pro-marijuana advocates. But if you take the time to actually study. Personally irritates the fuck out of me when I hear weed Advocates talk about "all the many health benefits that have been proven" blah blah... As if THAT'S why they started smoking in the first place.

That being said, the danger both immediate and long-term is far far greater with alcohol. Yet they drank wine in the bible... Sonthats ok.

All i care is that someone tracks the fucking money...we had the big debate in California in the 1980's over legalizing the lottery..people saying its legalized gambling,etc..but...we legalized it with the promise of better schools, paying down debt, police,etc...now revenue is nearly $7 billion and schools and debt is WORSE THAN EVER!!!! That's nearly $7 billion/year EXTRA!!!! And they ripped through it

Now same shit with marijuana...let's just not let this be another fucking blank check for these criminals masquerading as politicians

Now they'll rip through the billions that marijuana will bring in....This is full blown larceny...

Give it time.

It's just not likely to anywhere near catch up. It's just the nature and effects of the substances. Too much consumption of alcohol just fucks you up far too much to even have a chance to function. At least smoking a shit ton there are some people that are used to it and can handle it. When you pass a certain threshold of alcohol, it doesn't matter as your inhibitions and motor skills are fucked up too much.

Always have to look at what the substances do to the body in excess. As these are where most of the incidents's are likely to occur. Alcohol is by far worse.

Regarding the studies, I am more interested in what population was used, how much marijuana was ingested, as well as the research methodologies that were used to derive the conclusions. Of course, smoking 15 joints/blunts a day will likely have more of an impact than smoking 1 joint every 2-3 days. I know plenty of professors (here are also judges, lawyers, teachers, doctors, etc., who also use) who smoke marijuana recreationally and have written books, published in peer-reviewed studies, etc. I highly doubt legalizing marijuana will send these professors into a downfall of homelessness and debt. They will likely continue to use the same amount of marijuana as they always have. I am not "concerned" about people who have been recreationally using marijuana for their whole lives in a controlled fashion.

If recreational marijuana becomes 100% legalized, it will be more interesting to see the possible effects it has on young adults who are recently entering college or the work force. As of now, we likely do not have a big enough data set to draw such a strong correlation between legal marijuana consumption and the effects on young adults who are entering the workforce or college. Again, I am not concerned about the 55 year old family man who smokes a joint every few days.

So, instead of jumping to emotional appeals, the best answer is, "I don't know." We simply do not have a big enough data set to draw a strong relationship between the two variables. Research is going to need to take into consideration A LOT of variables in order to draw such a strong conclusion about the legalization of marijuana (age, race, culture, socioeconomic status, amount ingested, etc.).

The same people who are calling for marijuana to be illegal; why aren't they calling for alcohol to be illegal?

--An estimated 88,0008 people (approximately 62,000 men and 26,000 women8) die from alcohol-related causes annually, making alcohol the third leading preventable cause of death in the United States.

--In 2014, alcohol-impaired driving fatalities accounted for 9,967 deaths (31 percent of overall driving fatalities).

--The prevalence of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) in the United States was estimated by the Institute of Medicine in 1996 to be between 0.5 and 3.0 cases per 1,000

--In 2015, of the 78,529 liver disease deaths among individuals ages 12 and older, 47.0 percent involved alcohol. Among males, 49,695 liver disease deaths occurred and 49.5 percent involved alcohol. Among females, 28,834 liver disease deaths occurred and 43.5 percent involved alcohol.29

--Among all cirrhosis deaths in 2013, 47.9 percent were alcohol related. The proportion of alcohol-related cirrhosis was highest (76.5 percent) among deaths of persons ages 25–34, followed by deaths of persons ages 35–44, at 70.0 percent.30

--In 2009, alcohol-related liver disease was the primary cause of almost 1 in 3 liver transplants in the United States.31

--Drinking alcohol increases the risk of cancers of the mouth, esophagus, pharynx, larynx, liver, and breast.

And by god I respect your right to choose what you want to ingest

The problem is the Marijuana being consumed - where does it grow, which quality and potency.
In theory, Pot makes you think and wonder about the world and has the potential to be a positive factor in mental development, but again - I would be weary about origin and quantity consumed.

Add to this the health of the "smoker" and his/her attitude.
420 blaze it homo doesn't bode too well especially if you add genetically modified weed which nobody has the faintest idea of what exact effect it could/is supposed to have -> "conspiracy theory"...
"Legalize to make the sheeple even more placent and docile".

The longtime smokers I know/knew are/have been using it to get over their bad lives and it seems to have a strong effect on their brain and attitude - slow thinking, lazy and tuned out. Weed smokers have this unnerving chill-itude that may drive one up the wall after some time.

Great news!! Soon the whole country will be able to enjoy the benefits of cannabis with out fear of going to jail. Good times.

Not so fast, Sessions just changed the game....Jeff Sessions announced Thursday morning he had removed the barrier that had held back federal prosecutors from pursuing marijuana cases in states that had made pot legal, he delivered on something he had all but promised when he was nominated as attorney general. Most of the marijuana world saw it coming, but they freaked out anyway.

Federal government hates weed, loves guns.
California Government Loves weed hates guns.

So now, when here i  L.A. even gas stations and many convenience stores have bullet proof glass, Marijuana dispensaries cant put their fucking money in a bank. Worse, they cant accept Credit Cards(FDIC) so they have to have more unmarked cash stored in house than some small banks. And of course Cali wont let them carry guns to defend all the free cash!!!!

Dangerous situation...

Lol....been clean coming up on 25 years. All of that shit makes me sick. When you survive addiction you can speak from experience. When you’re clean from addiction and study even a little of it’s effects be it from a psychological or physiological standpoint you’re somewhat in a better position to speak on it than someone who hasn’t been in that position. If you’re speaking on it and still on it, you’re addicted.

Points 2, 3, 7, 8 (EIGHT), 13, 16, TWENTY TWO (2-22 would definitely reduce your “gains” if not kill them. Look at more of the list. There are plenty more. But hey... whatever

The only people who really care and stress about pot being illegal are soy boys and libtards but usually both as they go hand in hand. You can smoke weed regardless anytime you want and nothing will happen to you. So i don't see the big deal.

Where does it grow?? It grows indoors in greenhouses, legally where temperature and light cycles can be controlled. There's very few, if any, " mystery Growers/cultivators". There's a bunch right here in the Coachella Valley. People were talking about how the Mexican cartels are gonna take over the industry. lol... Cartels sell the shitty, dried up, low quality, low potency stuff that ppl who smoke weed regularly don't waste their time with. Aside from ghetto punks smoking their "blunts"... I remember in h.s. my friends were potheads and small time pot dealers. The black kids would come up at lunch asking for a dimebag or whatever so they could roll a blunt and my friends would laugh in their faces. There's no way you're smoking a blunt of White Rhino or White Widow or Northern Lights or AK47 back then, or Girl Scout Cookies or Louie XIII OG or Gorilla Glue today (unless you have a huge tolerance)... the shit that the Mexican cartels produce is the shit they roll blunts with.... Mexicans are being (have been) pushed out of the market, because why would somebody pay $30 for an 1/8oz of their shit covered in crystals ,when they can get freshly harvested sticky top shelf homegrown shit for the same price or $5 more?

It ain't like Mexicans making meth in superlabs, using whatever chemistry that can using whatever chemicals they can to produce the end product.

There's been some talk in this thread about this "newfangled marijuana" and how did it get it so potent and how is it different from the marijuana from 20, 30, 40 years ago or whatever... it's not different. All they're doing is isolating specific strains and breeding them a d creating new strains/breeds of varying cannabinoids, thc & cbd are the most well-known however there are others.  It's just horticulture. It's not some mystery Voodoo witchcraft nuclear Russian trigonometry

Most here are going by personal experience, what they hear on the street, read online and generally from sources that are pro-marijuana advocates. But if you take the time to actually study. I don’t know, maybe very few actually took the time to read what I posted as far the article but regardless after we put that piece together I’ll take gear over weed all day long.

All HRT doctors often see bad bloodwork in their patients and need to adjust the treatment so as not to put the patient at risk for stroke, heart attack, blood clots etc.
Look at any FB HRT group or forum and see what kind of problems and sides patients have with their hormones.
Tons and tons of problems, libido, mental etc.

What physical damage or dangers do doctors regularly see from pot smoking? I think the smoke may be damaging in the long run, didn't look closely at the data, but what else (the drug can be eaten to eliminate the problem of inhaling smoke)? A small increase in pulse when smoking that may be bad for someone with heart issues. What else? So many people in your state smoke so there should be a lot of casualties. You should personally know people who killed themselves with weed so let's hear some examples.

I maintain that the danger of weed is the potential psychological issues that may come from the drug, not the physical.

There isn't anything conclusive to show it causes physical damage as tobacco does (which used to be the claim.. actually "worse" than tobacco, even, it's been said).  And no need to wait for our hippies to age more before we can know, since other cultures have been using much longer than us.

We do have a problem with lazy growers being duped by insects, though, which often makes for product contaminated with pesticides.  In the "clone" market, which is huge among growers, spidermite treatment has become the main threat to safe weed.  The ignorant ass grower, instead of treating new clones in a separate area (while they're still tiny and due to outgrow all current mass), will be caught at flowering time with an invasion of mites.  Then the stupid lazy shit will begin soaking the entire plant, daily, and will call it a success upon selling, just the same.

Any future problems we may see in this country, will be from pesticide residues and whatever backdoor-bullshit the corporations will do after stealing control and raping the world for its valuables.

The amount of misinformation in this thread coming from the "not so pot friendly" side is surprising given that it's 2018 and the amount of factual information available at this point is truly staggering. Luckily they, along with Dinosaurs have no real bearing on anything in real life - so their opinions can be taken as mildly amusing, and soon to be extinct- like watching an old black and white  film of the last Tanzanian Tiger before it died in captivity.

These same people will shit themselves when medicinal mushrooms are approved in the next 10-15 years even while hundreds of thousands of chronic alcoholics and depressed individuals will inevitably find relief and healing not afforded by big pharma's wares from using them.

I've been around this MJ business for more years than most of you GetBiggers have been on this planet, but as a result of being in the military I was more of an observer than a participant.

But amost every civilian I knew or have ever met asked me the same question .... "Can you get me some Maui Wowie?".

And since I knew the Maui Wowie guys, I'd point trhem in the right direction with no further comment nor commitment.

Based on my personal and up-front observations over a vast number of years,  I'd say that the use of marijuana is great for some and bad for others.

For instance .... I've personally noticed that it is great for song writers and musicians (jazz muscians in particular) and although I only know a couple of 'rappers' .... I have been told that it's great for rapers, and artists, and even writers.

Some of my good friends have been stoned since the 1960's and live on a bare existance. Those stoney dudes have been of many professions .... doctors, lawyers and ... (sorry, but I no longer communicate with Indian chiefs except for the one who threw a table through a store-front window .... but he was encouraged by a couple of beers and not by MJ).

Those are the individuals who dhould abstain.

Some people can handle it and some simply cannot.... and as someone mentioned above .... only time will tell if its legalization was the right thing to do.

I only hope that it will put the cartels down south out of business.

I haven't smoked in a long time but I have nothing against it.  I think it's a safer drug than alcohol.

I was thinking about buying some edibles now that it's legal and there are literally 4 pot stores within a few miles of my house but fact is that I probably won't bother

Its quite obvious that people do not want to accept the idea that someone can recreationally smoke marijuana without becoming addicted or letting it take over their lives.

The amount of professionals (professors, lawyers, judges, accountants, doctors, teachers, etc.) that smoke marijuana is probably in the millions. These people are fully functional, law abiding citizens.

Its idiotic to GENERALIZE and say that everyone who smokes weed is a lazy addict. It's just not true.

Exactly and in NH you can buy alcohol just about anywhere including every convenience store. We even have government sponsored liquor stores on our highways to attract out of state buyers (tax free). Why not have state sponsored dispensaries in them since they love to control the $$.

I don't drink etc but I would like to try medical marijuana for my spine issues. Believe it or not it's been easier for me to obtain pain meds then a mm card. ::)  Pain meds give me stomach problems so I really can't use them often. I don't drink etc but I would like to try medical marijuana for my spine issues. Believe it or not it's been easier for me to obtain pain meds then a mm card. ::)  Pain meds give me stomach problems so I really can't use them often. I did try it many years ago and it made me paranoid so not sure it will help but maybe a different variation.

Start small! lol... I can handle enough opiates to kill an elephant but just half of a medium sized hit of weed (literally the size of a pencil eraser) is plenty for me. I haven't tried any more of the AK-47 (sativa dom hybrid)I picked up last Friday. Been thinking about picking up a gram of the lowest THC kush I can find (straight Indica, not hybrid). That, or pick up a Indica Tic Tac thing that has the amount of THC listed in milligrams on the label so I know exactly how much I'm taking in. Smoking or vaping is hard to tell the dose, when you consider a regular "small" dose is considered ~10mg. I'd likely start with a 5mg dose. I've seen them at 10-25mg (& higher, but I just noticed the small ones), so like 1/2 a tablet. With animals it can be tricky. I remember back in 2012 with my card the dispensary gave me a free cookie for being a first-time patient & was told to start with half the cookie and wait because it'll take awhile to kick in... Ho Lee fuk I ate a little more than a quarter of it at like 10 a.m. and all of a sudden the shit kicked in when I was taking a break for lunch about 2 hours later. And. I. Was. Hating. It. lol

Just my 2 cents and for Getbig probably sounds beta but dogging anyone about a former addiction seems counterproductive. Threatening to expose someone or punch them out seems a little like a meltdown. Not everyone is going to agree that Marijuana being decriminalized is a positive thing but you would think everyone would be happy with big government  getting their noses out my choices for myself especially when their argument against it is probably not as good as the argument against alcohol yet they allow that.

I think they should decriminalize all drugs from cocaine to LSD and everything in between. Something being illegal isn't going to stop somebody who really wants to use it.

Look at all the people even on this board who haven't ever smoked a cigarette or drink a drop of alcohol despite the stuff and being legal and available on nearly every street corner.

You know who really wants drugs to remain illegal? Drug dealers. Nobody wants drugs to remain illegal more than drug dealers. Nobody.

You think I want steroids to be legal? Fuk no

I tend to agree. anyone who has ever wanted a drug can get it. a portion of The money saved playing the game, could offset treatment costs. I think you would see violence drop off along the drug corridors.

Why not just declare any and everything legal or at the least a misdemeanor.  That way police and jails would not be needed.  Everyone could just "get along".  No one could judge anyone.  No more judges.  No more courts.  No more cops.  No more jails. Just everyone getting along because nothing is "wrong" or "against the law" anymore.

Those that work can pay for the care and feeding of those too stoned to work and if you steal, that's a job and you have to declare it as income but since there's no longer anything such as a crime,  not paying your taxes is no big deal. Murder?  Misdemeanor.  Rape.  Misdemeanor.  The only thing that would deserve punishment is anything considered a "hate crime".  Why?  Because nothing hurts  more than mean old whitey being hateful.   Since there are no longer jails, you just pay a "hate fee" to the offended person.  Keep in mind that it's impossible to hate if you are under the protection of the endangered feces act.

Little extreme there. What I am talking about is the right to do with your body what you want to do. I haven't advocated messing with anyone else's rights.  I see a distinct difference, don't you? Where do you draw the line on government control?

I think I told you about my one experience with a medical vape my realtor gave me. I was cleaning out my mom's house (rip) and my back was killing me. I definitely did way too much and was in lala land. Helped a lot with my back pain but I had to wait hours to drive home and was paranoid as hell! I wish it was just legal here so I could sample different types but I can go the card route.

Exactly. How then you people did cocaine in the 60s 70s or 80s before the big crack down? It was coming and it wasn't so much of a stigma attached to it. And when it came time to stop people just stopped, for the most part.

And any dumb ass who would smoke crack if it became legal for some reason, would likely also smoke crack if given the opportunity if it was illegal. At least if it was decriminalized n legal that could be a lot more money spent on education. No educated person is going to smoke crack for fucksake. It's not like heroin, where 99% of heroin users don't start off with Heroin. They started with pain killers from the doctor. So it's not like she was going to say "ll I ran out of Wellbutrin I need my fix l go smoke some crack".

I've personally found Kush strains to be very easy on the lungs, when you smoke regularly the cough factor can become an issue if you care about that sort of thing.

When I first moved to Colorado I bought a "Mile Higher Bar" which is a 500mg/THC chocolate bar. I didn't know any better and since it was sold as a single bar I ate the whole thing - Holy shitzkies batman! I ate the bar on the way to Red Lobster to celebrate my sons birthday, about 20 minutes in everything had a slight glow almost like shrooms, and I realized that I probably shouldn't be in public. My wife says I smiled a LOT. I've since educated myself ....If you aren't going anywhere and just want to get REALLY stoned though - a Mile Higher Bar will definitely make you question gravity.

I've had infused coffee beans that were 5 milligrams and that was on par with maybe .25 Xanax as far as relaxation in my opinion.

I prefer somewhere around 100 mg (edibles) at a time as I find it gets me pretty high - but not fall asleep half way through the movie high.

On another note: Sex and edibles.........try it, you'll thank me later.

Stopped in a place and picked up some BlueCookies(Indica dom hybrid of blueberry kush & girl scout cookies), & gave me s preeroll of northern lights, chemdog OG, OG kush,& something else.

Got home and broke off a piece 1/2 the size of a pencil eraser,& took 1 light hit. Taste was smother the sativa hybrid.

Kicked less than 5 minutes later while I was taking the trash out I noticed I definitely feel this more in my body then I do in my head. I can feel it in my head but I don't feel stoned at all. I actually feel this way too much much less in my head then the other AK-47.

People say that sativas are the ones to use during the day when you have to do things but if I have to function during the day I'd much rather have this feeling from the Indica hybrid. My neck especially feels better. (Degenerated disc c6-c7 & c5-c6, w/c4-c5 bringing to go as of 2014)

That pre-roll is enormous. It's call mostly Indica hybrid Shake in one of those raw cone for your rolls that starts out about as thick as my middle finger and tapers down into like a little cone. There's absolutely no way I could do that whole thing. So I'll probably just open that pre-roll up and she was the Shake in a pipe and tiny tiny amounts.

Btw... Whole thing(gram and about a 1/2-3/4g in that pre-roll cost me $7 even with tax.

I only like sex with mild kush, like banana or bubblegum. Other stuff dizzy or disconnected.
