Proviron vs. Arimidex?
Which is better, what are the pros and cons of each?

They are completely different compounds and each serving a different purpose. Armidex doesn't pack the androgenic (though slight) that proviron does. Proviron is used as a mild anti-e at best and mostly as supplemental precautions when running things like tren and deca (for libido issues).
Armidex will control androgen bloat and estrogen levels much better than proviron by a wide margin. Though aromasin is even better.

Isn't Proviron supposed to be anti-progesterone as well? Progesterone is supposed to be a big problem with Tren.
Does Armidex help with progesterone as well?

Proviron works better much akin to winstrol in that department. Many believe that both compete for sites that progestrone activates upon. They don't work as anti-e's for PR activity, rather clogs up the sites (for lack of a better description) so PR can not get a chance to activate at all. While there is no scientific proof of this other than many people simply saying "it worked for me", it is really up in the air and will come down to your body dynamics and sensitivity towards PR related activation.
Arimidex doesn't faze PR issues at all.

So is A-dex "Needed" eod or if symtoms begin to occur? And why do I hear some are taking 1mg eod and some .7 eod? why would .3 make a difference?

Okay, I did, this is what I found:
All the experts seem to think that there is no progesteronic activity with Tren and that Tren one of the safest most effective steroids out there. Many board members disagree.
It is the same with using test as a base in every cycle. Experts (those who write books and articles) say you don't need it, most board members disagree.
When people vehimently disagree with the experts, I pause because there aren't endless studies on performance enhancing drugs. I wonder how anyone can be absolutly sure about any of it.
But I'm giving a thumbs down to the Proviron with Tren.
