At Large is a good company, I have ordered protein from them, but they are really not that big. How can they afford to "sponsor" athletes?

I'm not gonna be one of the persons cheering on while this young woman chemically modifies her body into intergender land.
Male hormones for males are one thing. You can be for or against it. But women.. Let them take estrogen if they want.

When I first say your pics, I thought like many of us, how is this guy going to step on a bodybuilding stage, and a pro one at that? Now after some serious dieting, I can see the muscle bellies and the leanness comming through. You look a hell of allot better than I thought you would and wish you the best in the NOC. Hell I just make that train ride into the city and see how the PDI debut show will do. Doing a small EXPO at the show?

However, the PDI is new, it's exciting, and its guys actually seem to be a tad tougher than the IFBB Prima donnas. Priest, Vinny, Rhino will scrap on the boards, and can take crititicism and give it back. You're not going to see that from most of the IFBB guys. Being accessible and "real" seems to be, and will continue, to pay dividends.
Rhino has 2 photoshoots in Musclemag I think, and more to come...

70' Hemi-the only way to go. Dude, it has so much horsepower, I got the tires to stick well enough, to pull a wheelie, once! I am thinking about pulling the 426 hemi, I can get a 572 hemi now, right out of the crate-1000 horspower!!!!

It takes obscene ammounts of torque for a car to pull a wheelie lol 575 Hemi thats equates to about 6 miles to the gallon lol

Wayne's had time to see what has been wrong with the IFBB recently. In his MD interview, he made judging the BIGGEST issue. Talked all about how his judges will be accountable, no conflicts of interest, etc. So I think the effort is there. And, the critics are there should ANYTHING be wrong with the judging. So if there as ever been anyone motivated to deliver flawless judging, it's Wayne.

Well honestly, right now , I don't think the PDI is interesting. I am not biaised at all but right now I think it isn't safe for the Ifbb Pros to switch to the PDI.
Lee Priest and Vince had nothing to lose.
We can't say the same thing for the other pros.
The way I see it right now, no offence Rhino cause I like you, is a competition between 2 top pros and a couple of amateurs.
I hope they prove me wrong and put on a great show in september. Sure, I'll check the result and the pics but that's it for this time around. They will need to EARN the fan base.

\Yeah I know preist will beat me, but seriously, he is beter than me, so thats cool. As far as the ifbb always having the olypia, well, it is actually owned by AMI, bought from the weiders in the publication deal. So if AMI sell, or goes out of business, well the olympia name could very easily be sold. In fact, being that ami is in financial trouble, the scenario would be that they would sell things like the olympia first, then start cutting athlete contracts. See how this could turn?

So, I'm happy, I will train my ass off, try my best, and just the sound of people screaming for me, will be enough to make the old man happy. My goal? To belong onstage next to Lee and Vince. To give them a run.....

Atlarge Nutrition practically has the Powerlifting market locked down so I can see them having a number of sponsored athletes, mainly powerlifters. They can afford it
Now as far as the owners are concerned.....no comment

Actually, I'm dropping my current sponsored athletes and cutting down on other expenses as well.
Sponsorship is expensive and I will invest my funds into more inventory and building up my new skincare and tanning line of products. I may sponsor some folks next year

I have no problem with Daniel. He's a cool guy. Chris Mason on the other hand is the person who I've had many past beefs with in the past. Heck if it wasn't for him, I would problably carry their full line of products. Although I never believed in the ETS product and its claims, the protein powder is from a high quality supplier.

The beef between me and Chris Mason is hopefully long over. It started long before you ever arrived up here. He was banned from Mayhem for dissing me as well as a few other people for a pretty long time back in 2002. But its water under the bridge. I've decided to simply bite my tougue and K.I.M.

However, if you get quiet about it, well... it might cast a shadow of doubt upon the other things you've said here which you claim are true.

Sponsorship, 240 is not about how great your products are..its about how much money you have to have other people tell folks how good your stuff is.
As far as what I've done with athletes....well......I think I plan to bite my tougue on that too... ;). Most bodybuilders know exactly what I do for them.

As far as what I've done with athletes....well......I think I plan to bite my tougue on that too... ;). Most bodybuilders know exactly what I do for them.

I can say that we (AtLarge) are very happy to have both athletes on our team. Mike is a bench BEAST and a very good guy to boot. The fact he is with Westside and we have recently begun a relationship with them (they are offering our products on their site now and Louie himself is using them) also played into the equation.
My personal love and respect for both size and strength are what have caused us to work so much with the powerlifting market. I respect pure power and the competition aspect of a powerlifting meet. To me it is a much purer and less subjective sport than bodybuilding. That said, bodybuilding was my first love and that combined with the aforementioned is what prompted me to contact Jack (Rhino). To me, he reflects the AtLarge attitude of raw strength and power. Aesthetics are cool but I love POWER!
Jack is also a very well spoken and highly driven individual whom I believe will go far in the sport. I want for us to help him in that pursuit as our growth allows us to do so.

Lets get something straight here, Vince is straight up lying here. He militantly pursued Chris, engaging him in debate after debate here about his products trying to win petty arguments for no apparently reason other than Chris has a real business, as opposed to Vince's "front". He never, repeat never won any arguments.
And I don't mean "front" in the sense that it he's moving money in other circles, I mean he's fronting plain and simple. His business is basically not real. This sponsored athlete thing is a load of shit. He sells hokey supplements at swap meets and ebay. I'm sure it turns enough to live on but he's not blitzing any trails.
Chris dealt fairly well with Vince, at first he mistakenly thought he could debate this stuff with him, only after a while did it become apparent that no matter how many times Vince was "repelled" the turd was back again with another angle.
This all culminated in vince going to mayhem and claiming that he owned Chris (he actually seriously posted a thread that was something like this: "Topic: Hey CHECK THIS OUT!!!!!!" in which he claims an owning and links to a getbig thread). Everybody who read that thread agreed, he was talking shit and he had not achieved anything.
The difference between chris and vince is obvious. Chris realised he liked making money and having respect on this board and that he didn't need to answer Vince in order to do so. Chris is also worlds better in physique and strength than Vince.
In short, Vince is jealous and he doesn't really hide it too well. The amusing thing about Vince is, whilst he relented after a while and was reasonable, in Vince's mind, he manages to concoct a rosey picture of the past in which he was dynamic. It really doesn't matter what we are talking about, he might have underachieved when he did it but when he tells the board about it a year later you can bet that it is going to be exaggerated and full of shit.
Its probably why it is so amusing to read his nonsense.

Totally agree. My friend is a powerlifter and always lift super heavy ( he is only 19 and bench +- 390 :o)
So we were doing decline press and normally I put no more than 2 plates on it for 8-10 reps. I always have a great pump with that.
Since he is a powerlifter he always want to pu heavy so he put on 3 plates each side and did 20 reps. I did my 8 reps with 3 plates too but no pump at all even after all the sets. :(
