I think variety is the spice of life, as the saying goes. Totally hairless is great, although not so great if he doesn't keep the grooming up and there is rough regrowth all over the place which feels like you're holding sandpaper in your arms. On the other hand, hair is also great. Unless if it's gorilla-like in abundance. It really depends on the man, and I think women are more accepting of differences than some men. That having been said, I think even worse than a hairy back are really hairy shoulders. Oh God, yes, that's the worst, especially when it's so virulent in its abundance that it continues up the back of the neck. :P

Do they bother you?Do they ever....and thats coming from a man. I went to the Bahamas back in June for a wedding and we decided to hit the beach earlier that week. You wouldn't believe what sat in a lawn chair right in front of me. A male about mid thirties, his entire front, back and arms were covered in thick black rug type curls. :-[ I almost lost my lunch. Thats flat out embarrassing and just plain wrong. :-\
chest hair is permissible, as long as it's neat, soft, and not gorilla hairy, but back hair is a definite no no.
The sexiest thing in the world..to me...is a big musclular chest that was shaved about 4 days prior. Its like a 5 o'clock shadow on his chest and stomach. Oh, thats a little slice of heaven. Its got the dark tint, but its not all curly and grungy.
Back hair makes my skin crawl!!! Shave it, wax it, burn it for all I care....just don't bring it around me.
If waxing is too painful there are other ways. Nair works very well to remove all body hair. I use it on my legs about once every 6 weeks. Removes all unwanted body hair easily and its odourless. Minor chest hair can be removed with a mach 3 turbo blade very easily in the shower.

Suffice to say, microwaves don't heat thick liquids evenly. When the top feels relatively cool to the touch, the liquid underneath can still be very, very, VERY, HOTTT! As if that wasn't enough, ...then I had to spread the cloth over an area already far too traumatized as it was, ...and RIP!!! :'( Would you believe not a single hair came off? >:(

I'll come clean here...I grow hair pretty much everywhere on my body. Luckily, it's not curly or gnarly, but it is dark and it grows long enough to bother me. I've never liked it one bit, and I've always shaved it all off. It's a goddamned chore, too.
I started puberty young. I started growing hair on my shoulders and back in my early teens. I'd have to get my little brother to shave it off, bribe him and shit. Never was fun.
However I never had any problems with girls. I've had several very meaningful relationships, most of whom I keep in some sort of contact with. Every one of them was happy to help me groom, once I described how much it bothered me.

I was having my hair highlighted today in Venice...I was people watching (the salon has a huge window), and talking with my stylist, when this 60+ year old man walked by with no shirt, those ball hugger bike shorts that kind-of fold on the sides, and the hairiest chest, legs, arms, and back I have EVER seen. What disgusted me most was his sweat was causing the hair to get wet. OH MY GOD, I puked in my mouth a little bit. I actually ghasped, and my sweet gay stylist was freaking out. It was hilarious. I told him about our convo on the boards about this very topic.
