The EKG electrodes you see are being used as occlusive dressings. That means there are bullet holes under all those electrodes. The IV looks normal to me I don't know why you would think it's not from the field. He obviously had bilateral tension pneumothorax so they attempted to decompress him with those two needles in his chest in the field. There is no need for AED pads because he died of fluid lose (Blood) so he most likely presented in asystole or PEA both are unshockable rhythms. Putting on the pads is a waste of time and unnecessary. Having the eyes open is a non-issue. Most likely there was about a 100 cops in the ER that night and someone took that picture so I don't think thats a big issue. Depending when the medics got to him he most likely was in a PEA rhythm which means you can see electrical activity on the heart monitor but no blood is being circulated. Treatment for that is control bleeding, cover sucking chest wounds (electrodes), treat Pneumothorax (chest decompression with large bore needles), start IV's to give fluids, give oxygen and get to a trauma center. Survival rate for traumatic arrest is less than 1%.

Pellius and Coach are right. I work for one of the top three biggest fire departments in the US. We pick up the poor and all around pieces of shit non-stop. Everyone gets care in the US no one is turned awayed. Its funny Americans can't be bothered with paying for health care but they can pay for their brand new Ford F450 and TV dinners.

Im a veteran with a National Guard, never deployed to a combat zone but I did spend about two years deployed. I have free health care for about 5 years. I have used my benefits for about the last two years and I have had no problems. I have been treated very well in fact. Don't believe everything you read, most people working in the VA are veterans and they respect each others service.
I think alot of you have watch "born on the fourth of july" and "Platoon" to many times.
Also what HH6 says its almost always correct.

Ya, it was back in 2004 in Poland. There were about ten different countries there with 1 or 2 platoons. It was more of a friendly, lets train together and then have a FTX. Initially the Russians had to sleep in a diffrent area because the Germans and Poles really didn't want them there. They drove down with about 6 BTRs and about a platoon. It was a real eye opener seeing them up close and how cruel their officers are to their men. They have very very low moral and basically a weapon, shovel and blanket. This reminds me of another thread when some idiots here were talking how they would "kick our ass" in a conflict.
On another note, I was in Moldova in 2006 participating in another multi country training mission without Russia. We were about a week into the excerise and the Russians freaked out and word was they thought we were amassing some type of invasion force, to invade a part of moldova (transdinesia?) which wanted to beak away and go back to a Russian state. We had to stop and a couple Russian officers came in to see what was going on.

When I was in the Army Guard we participated in a similar exercise in Poland. There were about ten countries participating including Russia and we used a civilian town with civilians. This is how the military trains now a days it mostly urban. When I first enlisted in 2000, we would go out to the woods set up a perimeter and pretty much re-enacted scenes from platoon going out on patrols and ambushes. So for all the Ct guys here, HH6 is ten times the soldier I ever was and everything he says is completely true from my experiences.

Not to sure what your point is? You guys crack me up with all this talk of lack of evidence with these detainees. This is War you attack an enemy, possibly called in airstrikes. After the battle is over you get the fuck out of town because there could be a counter attack. Some of you nerds that play to many video games must think the Army calls in a CSI team to dusk for finger prints after words.
What about the 60 plus released detainees who are confirmed to be back out in the fight again... and those are only the confirmed, so the number could easily be twice that or three times.
Most the interrogations are hardly rigorous the problem is most of these insurgents are mental midgets and start crying at the drop of a hat. There real tough when there with ten guys chopping off a contractors head but not when the table is turned.
