1  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: For all those American sports car fans, I give you the Corvette Carbon Edition on: June 04, 2010, 06:55:51 PM
I was at the Indy last weekend and got to see the ZR1 and the GT2 car up close. I've been more impressed with how GM has pushed for improvements with the Vette, aside from the interior. The ZR1 is impressive if 'unrefined' but with the Carbon (at $90k) this should give them another platform that essentially gets rid of any Callaway involvement. Saleen's even getting more tight with GM these days.

BTW the Corvette reps there said the plans for the C7 aren't even finalized, don't believe the pics out there yet. Yes it'll 'likely' be split window and yes it would have been here sooner except for the  GM bailout but everything else is up in the air...
2  Getbig Main Boards / Politics and Political Issues Board / Re: Obama's 17-minute, 2,500-word response to woman's claim of being 'over-taxed' on: April 04, 2010, 04:00:21 PM
I don't expect greedy motherfuckers to agree with me.  Yeah, it's really fair for a person that makes $20,000 to pay 10% = $18,000 net vs. $200,000 x 10% = $180,000 net and $2,000,000 x 10% = $1,800,000 net as an example....Really fucking fair assholes. Roll Eyes

At least I can be happy knowing this crazy bullshit will never happen.

I'm sure you wouldn't be ashamed it's not like most people report what they really took in anyway.  I haven't brought in to any system.  I'm doing whats right and I'd believe the same thing if I made alot of money.  A progressive tax is the fairest way of taxing.  Flat tax is bullshit and just another way of rich people of getting out of paying their fair share.  Pure capitalism is not a good system.  I love and hate capitalism.  It brings out the best and worst in people.
It doesn't account for everyone and leaves the door open for a few to dominate and use their economic power as politcal power...Walla you have America.  Not saying I want a socialist country, I'd just put alot more limitations on the way business is ran, tax the fuck out of the super rich, close loopholes so sheisty motherfuckers don't try and get through, cut taxes for small business and give them a shit load of tax credits.  Redefine the term, "small business"
I can go on if you'd like...

This is such a weak argument.

your upper middle class and rich examples just contributed almost $220k to the tax pool and your poor friend just kicked in $2k. That money is already what pays for your roads, your public tranportation, etc. The wealthy are already contributing more, not to mention chances are, your millionaire here is probably the only one of the three that has ever hired employees, created jobs, and contributed to the GDP...

Met him in the airport in London 2 months ago. He was traveling, promoting a supplement line. He said he travels a bit but is still in the Miami area I think, he didn't say anything about competing but he looked like he could step on stage anytime and clean house.

Nicest pro I've met and yes he looks about 10 years younger than he is, at least.

5  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Species Nutrition - a storage facility? on: March 20, 2009, 04:37:36 PM
I am sure most do not conduct their own research, certainly not Species which is just a 2 man operation.  Although they CLAIM to be formulating their own product based on Their Own research.

Met-Rx when Scott Connelly owned it is probably the only company that I can believe.  Gaspari seems to run a decent outfit as well as whatever Conte ran and Patrick Arnold.

The fly-by-nighters, Species and the like, are not researching anything.

True.

You've named all the ones that have done any kind of third party research. And even some of that is questionable -

Subject pool - 5 total. hahaha oh brother  Roll Eyes

Anyway, I'd add Muscletech to the list because I've heard from people who have actually visited their facilities. Otherwise you guys have no idea how shady some of these "manufacturing facilities" are. Supplement companies run out of garages, sharing space with pet food companies, etc.. A friend of mine worked for the FDA for awhile, the stories he'd tell me of some of these places are legendary.
6  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Active Release Therapy - Who has tried it? on: February 26, 2009, 12:17:56 PM
Thanks ben!

question... how long did it take for Active release therapy to work for you?  Did you have to keep returning, or did it solve it quickly?    I have my first apopintment on tuesday... how many appts per week did they use?  how many weeks total did it take you?

It'll depend how aggressive they are, which they should be but be careful of the money chasers. I went to an ART twice who was ok, but I felt like I could take more, so I found then a chiro who did the same therapies, but more intense, and by 4th session I was good. I still worked out around it, but no bi's a limited back movements. I still have issues with it now but I've learned to back off quickly when I start getting flare ups. The biceps tendons are easier to get to and self-manipulate, you may need a longer treatment schedule and actually have to go back occassionally.
7  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Active Release Therapy - Who has tried it? on: February 26, 2009, 11:17:41 AM
Rob - I second (or third) the active release therapy. I've had chronic tendonosis/tendonitis in my brachialis/biceps and this is the only thing that helps significantly. The fish oil helps, but as mentioned, it probably improves your condition 5-10%.

A.R.T. is great to break up the scar tissue that you likely have in the shoulder. This is actually re-igniting the inflammation-healing process around the tendons, but allows it to heal correctly without impingment. Since the shoulder and bi's are tied in together they may even use the same movements through your biceps too. You can couple this with things like cross friction massage and icing on your own but it depends how easily you can get to the sore spot. Some chiropractors are certified in this also.

quoted from discount anabolics.com -

Quote
An FDA analysis found that the undeclared active pharmaceutical ingredients in some of these products include sibutramine (a controlled substance), rimonabant (a drug not approved for marketing in the United States), phenytoin (an anti-seizure medication), and phenolphthalein (a solution used in chemical experiments and a suspected cancer causing agent). Some of the amounts of active pharmaceutical ingredients far exceeded the FDA-recommended levels, putting consumers' health at risk.

Jungle Warfare contained a version of 6-bromo that was an AI with steroidal properties.

read some other boards, Prime is getting mixed reviews at best.

I'd stay away from the USP stuff just because of the cost and they're all getting mixed reviews. Cissus us supposed to be good, but I think the rest all have a common ingredient so they're not all that different.

13  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: a wound that will not heal on: December 21, 2008, 10:17:42 AM
Moose

You need to find a wound care and hyperbaric medicine center. Search for one around you, they're typically internal departments associated with a hospital. Or search google for a Wound Care physician, they usually have their own practice and work within one of these centers too.

You may need to do have some hyperbaric treatments, its hard to tell how big it really is from the pictures. It could take anywhere from 10-20 weeks to fully heal.

15  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: How big is your home...? on: April 30, 2008, 07:30:38 PM
Unless the neighborhood's fucked.

haha good point. They're doing a lot of re-builds and scraping old homes in the neighborhood so I think we'll be allright. One of the new mini-mansions 4 streets down is going for $1.8 mil now. Honestly if there end up being more rentals on my street I'd look for an opportunity to buy some rental properties too, my in-laws are still doing well with about a dozen properties in the greater area even in this market. The thing I learned to stay away from were neighborhoods with a lot of foreclosures and/or the new suburbs, there's way too much new supply/sprawl in the Dallas area to justify buying another new starter home and hope to God for 3-4% appreciation in 10 years.
16  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: How big is your home...? on: April 30, 2008, 07:07:00 PM
yeah, wife and kid, and a neice staying a bit while my sister deals with some health problems.   It's awesome... TV room, ecercise room, guest room... the place is huge.  I used to live in a trailer, then a small-ass apartment, so I definitely appreciate it every day to be blessed with a big home to live in Smiley

I have no clue what to do at the moment.  Every real estate agent I meet says "The time to buy is now!" as they're shopping their resume or going back to school.  Most everyone I know is in over their head/upside down on the mortgage.  FL roads/water infrastructure are horrible... they're tearing up half the county putting in city water (running on WELL WATER now), so every homeowner gets a $10k bill on top of their AR mortgage bitch slapping them.

When it's time to renew lease, I'm telling the landlord I want to pay $100 or 150 less, and I think he'll be thankful just to have someone to rent.  It's that ugly here.

We're closing on our first home in mid May. Even with increased number of rental properties being a risk, I still think it is a good time to buy. The house we're getting dropped $20k on the asking price the week we put an offer in, and that kind of discount seemed to be pretty standard in the areas we looked, even if all its doing is bringing prices back to what they should be. My un-scientific theory is even if you buy something in an area that may have more rentals around, as the market turns around in 2-3 years those property values are going to start increasing again and landlords are going to want to start making their money back, the po folk won't be able to rent a 4 bedroom 3 bath for $1300 a month anymore.
17  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: The #2 bodybuilder in the world doesn't have health insurance on: April 17, 2008, 09:24:48 PM
Well, currently the doctor's salary is a small fraction of the bill.  His or her salary would actually increase in a world without insurance.  Prices billed by your doctor's office are currently artificially inflated.  The person without insurance has to pay through the nose for this.  If you have insurance, the bill is submitted to your insurance company and they have a pre-set negotiated price with the doctor.  If the doctor offered you that negotiated price, plus 30% more discount due to less need for staffing, insurance paperwork, etc. the quality of care would skyrocket.  No longer would your doctor be part of an HMO or PPO group where they have to meet patient quotas and cut corners to make money for the group.

I still don't think people would pay it, you're talking about paying a $20 co-pay for an office visit vs. a 30% discount off @ $150 - $200+ for an office visit. You reduce the cost of a doctor's visit enough to where its competitive to what people want to pay and the doctor has to make up the difference in volume - you still have the same problems as you do in an HMO. Plus, patients still pay for higher medical technology, diagnostic testing and other advanced procedures that would still have high dollar costs that are passed on to the patient. Bottom line - people in the US have gotten used to paying a minimal out of pocket expense for the highest level of care.

18  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: The #2 bodybuilder in the world doesn't have health insurance on: April 17, 2008, 08:10:21 PM
what about placing limits on how much hospitals are allowed to charge.  for instance if you need a surgery done, you pay for the variable cost and the hospital handles its fixed cost.  Sure taxes would have to be raised, but not to canada's level.

The cost of medical technology in this country is too high. Hospitals have to fix their portion of a total cost with this in mind (among a hundred other factors when setting cost), and moreso - what you're paying for a surgery includes hospital costs plus anesthisia plus the surgeons fee and so on.... everyone still wants their cut either way.

I'm not a big fan of the greedy health insurance companies.  Why should there be a middle man with their hand in the pot between you and your doctor?  A lot of the cost incurred by a doctor's office is hiring help just to handle all the insurance paperwork.  And don't forget that employers, especially small businesses, are handcuffed with the expectation of a health insurance plan, and most of the time pay a majority of the premium.  I think we should do away with healthcare insurance and open the healthcare field up to competitive, fair pricing.  It's no different than if you have to suddenly buy a new car or replace the roof on your house, it's just something that's part of life.  And it does away with getting a free ride.  If you don't take care of yourself, it's going to cost you $$ later.

That's a loaded proposal though, making healthcare a traditional commodity means doctors and patients have more liability to make decisions than they do now. Doctors can be held responsible for not disclosing enough info for patients to make a decision on what treatment they would choose/buy (as it is now, but the courts usually uphold a standard of care that gives the doctor the benefit of the doubt in making medical decisions). Doctors don't want more risk in this sense. On the other side, patients already don't want the responsibility of making their medical decisions, but they'd be held more accountable for those choices. Most opinions say if this situation were possible then patients would be subject to the usual buyer beware laws. IOW - say you chose to have an x-ray done over a CT because it was cheaper but the doctor missed an abnormal mast because it wasn't as clear on the x-ray. You're SOL and its your fault because you chose the cheaper option  Undecided

Its a combo of mega-trn and epistane/havoc. The tren type compound is non-methylated but the Havoc compound is, I'm sure it would work pretty well for strength, and decent for size but but i'd watch for blood pressure issues with something like this

I want to know if they do low carb diet or not.
Why they are in so good condition?
How about high carb and super high intensity long cardio? Maybe more effective?

I'm sure any diet would work as long as you had a decent amount of protein then ate enough calories on top of that to replace what you burned during swimming/weights training. I doubt you'd have the time to put in on the cardio compared to someone like this. When I swam, up through high school and early college I could eat whatever I wanted and still stay lean because I was swimming 3-5 hours a day 5 days a week(depending on 2-a-day practices or not), plus trying to build size in the gym once I started bodybuilding. The swimming workouts a guy like this would do would burn thousands of calories a day, you'd have to eat enough carbs and fat to spare protein to keep some lean muscle on.

its a steroidal anti-aromatase (6-bromo) along with another AI. Similar to formestane, or ATD. Steroidal AI's are strong, 6-bromo had some evidence that it acted as a mild steroid/prohormone. Its also found in the product Jungle Warfare. You probably don't need something this strong, 6-bromo especially has been shown to cause some level of HPTA shutdown...

dont eat any simple carbs. eat only complex sources like brown rice, oatmeal, sweet potatoe. you can have fruits though. they are sugars, but digest pretty slowly.    dont eat any trans fats, and limit your sat fat intake to whatever is in your meat....    dont eat any type of condiment or cheeses or anything like that that has sat. fat in it.

and exercise!

Simple sugars impact triglyceride levels, not HDL, my triglycerides were only 38 (< 150 is normal). Fructose from fruits digests quickly, think oranges/orange juice for diabetics, but processed sugar/corn syrup does trigger higher circulating triglycerides. Good point on the condiments though, I've gotten lax with the BBQ sauce and the marinades!

other things are omega 3 fats which raise HDL, green tea and red wine.

...

up the fish oil to around 10 grams a day also, cardio and specific reduction of other fat sources namely sat fat will be the key. add in some red wine as well, very beneficial.

Thanks, didn't know that about the green tea.
