Sounds good, man.
I'm surprised that there hasn't been more conversation about this show. Even people who attended the 2010 event did not have very much to say at all and I cannot figure out why that is.
Last year it was the first show of the year, this year it's slated for August 27th. Why would people be buzzing about it when it's months away and there are a number of shows before it? It was a great venue and nice location last year.

The MusclePhone MuscleXL Review:
Postives • It's FRE • Nice photography • Good content
Negatives: • HUGE download 425 MB - needs to be better optimized. Comparison - Men's Fitness app is 6.7MB • Lots of ads but to be expected. • It reads landscape but the ads play vertical and automatically • Video ads that start on their own and not easily moved past. Highly annoying.
It has potential and in need of a few tweaks. It's free so you can't demand a whole lot.

I just saw that the mens physique comp this weekend here in california had 46 competitors ( which is probably more then mens bodybuilding had ). And this was the very first show. Also supp companies like muscletech, vpx, optimum etc are dropping most of their bodybuilders under contract.
Do you see this new mens physique division as the beginning of the end of mens bodybuilding.
Read the article on the link - I address all of that. There were more Men's Physique competitors than bodybuilders but bodybuilding is still the backbone to the organization and will always be around. Men's Bodybuilding is not going any where. The thing I like about the Men's Physique division is that it attracts NEW people to the industry and doesn't cater to the same group it has been. Bikini opened the doors to more marketability for the women and the Men's Physique could do the same. You will likely see more men's physique competitors getting sponsored by companies not only because they have a more "mainstream" look but also most of them are very active online and marketing themselves. Bodybuilders tend to think that by them being big and doing decent at a show that it's enough to get sponsored. It's not. MuscleTech® sponsored my transformation and may continue to sponsor me afterwards. I'm proof that if I can do it, anyone can. You just have to do it instead of expecting things to come to you. I think the division will take off and you'll see close to 200 guys in it come USAs and/or Nationals. Ron and I are building a "brother site" to GETBIG and HARDBODY that will feature the division.

Well thanks RON. Yes, I'm depleted in the pics as it was taken with 5 days to go. I was fat and out of shape from traveling and eating out of airports. I got lazy, stopped working out and the next thing you know my waist is pushing 35-36 inches and I felt like crap. I set a goal to be 180lbs by April 2nd and hit that last week. This weekend's competition was an end goal to get in shape. I have no aspirations of being a "pro men's physique" competitor or doing more shows. I've competed twice before but the last one was 5 years ago. I know what it takes to diet and how to get back into shape but the key is to not let yourself get fat like I did. It certainly doesn't get any easier as you get older to lose the weight. Dylan Armbrust and Armbrust Pro Gym have been awesome and if you're in the Denver area, that's the gym to go to. Thanks to Team MuscleTech for sponsoring me through my transformation. I've used the MuscleTech® Hydroxycut Hardcore Pro and Nitro-Tech Hardcore protein for the last 6 weeks. Yes, I am paid to endorse their products. See kids, you don't have to be big time bodybuilder to get sponsored by a supplement company. I have nothing to prove to anyone by competing and will have fun with the show tomorrow. I know some other cats competing are taking this super seriously and that's cool but that's not my purpose in this. BTW - I'll be happy to train legs with anyone at any time. I wish the shorts showed the quads. This photo shows my man boobs and how fat I had gotten last year. I'll chime in with more after the show.

Looks like we're seeing a gh15 meltdown taking place. Phil is a genetic freak. You're an ignorant ass if you think someone can pump themselves full of gear and look like him. We've seen countless cats who think they could and never come close. 6 years ago you were saying the same thing before he stepped on stage at the NPC JR NATIONALS. Hate on cause he's one of the few dudes who has delivered on his "hype". There were close to 1,700 people in attendance and if you watch the video you'll see the place had a great crowd. The NPC promoter in Salt Lake City is doing a good job of building things up and if you're in the area look up Steve http://www.npcutah.com

Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Should Bob Chick bring in a weigh in for the 2011 Olympia?

I think it's something that would make the press conference worth attending. No offense to Bob or the athletes but it's the same thing every year with little to no excitement. The fans react when a guy gives a preview. Gustavo, Freeman and Marcus had no problem showing anything but you never see Jay, Dex, etc.
I know the competitors don't want to weigh in because their bodies change dramatically from hour to hour. Most would be flat and look nothing like what they will the following day, while others would look great at weigh-in and not so good at the show. Which is exactly why there SHOULD be a weigh-in where all weigh in their posing suits. Look at how many fans attend to see UFC fighters step on the scale. THOUSANDS.
It would certainly draw bigger crowds and more interest from fans however I don't see the competitors ever wanting to do it.
