Everyone has a right to an opinion but to blatantly bash an organization that you don't care for is classless. Coincidence that Tianna Ta left her group and just so happen to be in this video? The posing shown here is no different than it has been at other pro shows. Appears someone is a bit butt hurt and is choosing to take the low road instead.

Sounds good, man.

I'm surprised that there hasn't been more conversation about this show.  Even people who attended the 2010 event did not have very much to say at all and I cannot figure out why that is.

Last year it was the first show of the year, this year it's slated for August 27th. Why would people be buzzing about it when it's months away and there are a number of shows before it?

It was a great venue and nice location last year.

The MusclePhone MuscleXL Review:

Postives
• It's FRE
• Nice photography
• Good content

Negatives:
• HUGE download 425 MB - needs to be better optimized. Comparison - Men's Fitness app is 6.7MB
• Lots of ads but to be expected.
• It reads landscape but the ads play vertical and automatically
• Video ads that start on their own and not easily moved past. Highly annoying.

It has potential and in need of a few tweaks. It's free so you can't demand a whole lot.

62  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Lift Studios - awesome transformation! Congrats! on: March 31, 2011, 10:18:47 PM
I just saw that the mens physique comp this weekend here in california had 46 competitors ( which is probably more then mens bodybuilding had ). And this was the very first show. Also supp companies like muscletech, vpx, optimum etc are dropping most of their bodybuilders under contract.

Do you see this new mens physique division as the beginning of the end of mens bodybuilding.

Read the article on the link - I address all of that.

There were more Men's Physique competitors than bodybuilders but bodybuilding is still the backbone to the organization and will always be around. Men's Bodybuilding is not going any where. The thing I like about the Men's Physique division is that it attracts NEW people to the industry and doesn't cater to the same group it has been. Bikini opened the doors to more marketability for the women and the Men's Physique could do the same.

You will likely see more men's physique competitors getting sponsored by companies not only because they have a more "mainstream" look but also most of them are very active online and marketing themselves. Bodybuilders tend to think that by them being big and doing decent at a show that it's enough to get sponsored. It's not.

MuscleTech® sponsored my transformation and may continue to sponsor me afterwards. I'm proof that if I can do it, anyone can. You just have to do it instead of expecting things to come to you.

I think the division will take off and you'll see close to 200 guys in it come USAs and/or Nationals. Ron and I are building a "brother site" to GETBIG and HARDBODY that will feature the division.  Cool
63  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Lift Studios - awesome transformation! Congrats! on: March 31, 2011, 10:08:33 PM
So Ike, are you gonna be going for your mens physique pro card if you do well at this show this weekend?

Nope. I have no aspirations of becoming an IFBB Pro in the Men's Physique Division. I did the show as an end goal/definitive date to get into shape and hold me accountable. I will be covering the division and help market it though.

My take on the division thus far for anyone looking to compete in it.

Rumour is Aaron only trains chest, shoulders, arms and abs and has abandoned training his legs in preperation to defeat you at this years junior nationals in the mens physique tall class.
lol

All for not as I will be there but photographing the event.
65  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Lift Studios - awesome transformation! Congrats! on: March 31, 2011, 09:15:10 PM
So aaron when are you going to make your mens physique debut?

Ah yes.

I do recall Mr. Singerman calling me out in some RX Muscle video challenging me to a Men's Physique contest. I think I'd beat Aaron due to his increase sized, he'd be marked down in the new division.

You look great Craig.  Lost some size since your win at the 2007 NPC Junior California Bodybuilding and Figure contest, but looking great regardless.

Well done!

68  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Lift Studios - awesome transformation! Congrats! on: March 31, 2011, 12:42:28 PM
how often you train abs lift

2-3x a week.

The diet is the biggest part. I was eating fish out of baggies in airports and stepping outside to eat chicken and rice. I was never the guy who opened the fish on the plane though. lol

69  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Lift Studios - awesome transformation! Congrats! on: March 31, 2011, 12:27:57 PM
Well thanks RON.

Yes, I'm depleted in the pics as it was taken with 5 days to go. I was fat and out of shape from traveling and eating out of airports. I got lazy, stopped working out and the next thing you know my waist is pushing 35-36 inches and I felt like crap. I set a goal to be 180lbs by April 2nd and hit that last week. This weekend's competition was an end goal to get in shape. I have no aspirations of being a "pro men's physique" competitor or doing more shows. I've competed twice before but the last one was 5 years ago. I know what it takes to diet and how to get back into shape but the key is to not let yourself get fat like I did. It certainly doesn't get any easier as you get older to lose the weight.

Dylan Armbrust and Armbrust Pro Gym have been awesome and if you're in the Denver area, that's the gym to go to. Thanks to Team MuscleTech for sponsoring me through my transformation. I've used the MuscleTech® Hydroxycut Hardcore Pro and Nitro-Tech Hardcore protein for the last 6 weeks. Yes, I am paid to endorse their products. See kids, you don't have to be big time bodybuilder to get sponsored by a supplement company. Smiley

I have nothing to prove to anyone by competing and will have fun with the show tomorrow. I know some other cats competing are taking this super seriously and that's cool but that's not my purpose in this.

BTW - I'll be happy to train legs with anyone at any time. I wish the shorts showed the quads.

This photo shows my man boobs and how fat I had gotten last year. I'll chime in with more after the show.

Looks like we're seeing a gh15 meltdown taking place. Phil is a genetic freak. You're an ignorant ass if you think someone can pump themselves full of gear and look like him. We've seen countless cats who think they could and never come close. 6 years ago you were saying the same thing before he stepped on stage at the NPC JR NATIONALS. Hate on cause he's one of the few dudes who has delivered on his "hype".

There were close to 1,700 people in attendance and if you watch the video you'll see the place had a great crowd. The NPC promoter in Salt Lake City is doing a good job of building things up and if you're in the area look up Steve http://www.npcutah.com

A shot of Phil Heath guest posing this past Saturday at the NPC UTAH. 1,700+ people attended the night show and the crowd was great. Lonnie "The Swami" Teper emceed the night show and promoter Steve Schmall did a great job with the event.

Video from the entire guest posing coming shortly to FLEXonline.com.

Smart move on Gaspari's part.

Brian is a solid fighter but even bigger is his connection to the military. He's a well respected, well-spoken guy.

For his next fight, he'll fight Jorge Santiago at UFC 130 on May 28th.
