He has no good reason for this other then expanding the base and more free hand outs.

Good...should have gave up his guns when he had the chance.

Have you people never been in charge of anything. He's the President and because politics have and always will trump the country or him doing the job he's supposed to do....he won't go. He needs to be seen with his guys...the DHS/border folks. He needs to listen to their concerns and the concerns of those operating the holding facilities. He has instead been seen with pro amnesty folks. He has a Constitutional mandate...HIS FUCKING JOB..to defend the sovereign borders of this country. That job does not include swelling the base of dem party and bankrupting border states and the country.

I think we had a much more thoughtful populace. People today don't research unless it takes less then 30 seconds...which is the point of the article. That's fine for us to some extent but if you're a reporter...not so much. I'd say that people in Canada do a better job then we do. Our kids can't find Europe on a map...they don't understand the underlying concepts about our own civil war. They can't tell you who fought WW2...never mind hard shit like economic theory. I have, for the most part given up. I buy ammo and go to the gym. I hope before the world goes in the shitter I can totally something approaching elite. I imagine in post apocalypse America gyms won't matter....nor my squat total.

Vince is possibly the dumbest person on this board.

Obama didn't start any wars?   Who decided to take out Gadaffi?  Oh wait...it was probably Valerie Jarrett. She seems to be running the country right now while Obama hits the links.

He blatantly lied about the circumstances surrounding the killing of four Americans.  He did so to save his ass in an election.   How anyone can defend that is beyond me.

 I agree....with everything posted here.
35  Getbig Main Boards / Politics and Political Issues Board / Re: DOJ indictment blows the lid on Obama's lies on Benghazi on: July 09, 2014, 11:17:07 AM
Just to be clear - Obama did follow the Bush SOFA plan for exiting iraq, didn't he?   I mean, bush put it on paper, complete with idiot throwing shoe, etc.   Obama talked and talked during campaign, but didn't change a thing?  He still left exactly when Bush said we would?  Obama is worthless on many things, but he obeyed what Cheney/bush agreed to in just about every way.   if anything, it's hilarious to see getbiggers melting down every time obama uses a drone strike over there - yes, as they're being flushed out, Bush woudl be doing the same - less boots, more airstrikes, I think we all support that if it means our troops are safer.

And I'm VERY clear on benghazi - I called obama out for it back on sept 12th when we heard about the attack - he didn't want a slaughter (of 100 bad guys) and the world's eyes on just what the F we were actually doing there, just 7 weeks before election, so he let 4 heroes die.  I said that immediately, the "non-action" thing that we saw other times in history.   I wish more repubs on getbig had the balls to use the word "impeachment" and I know obama will never be impeached because they're just soft.

No...Obama waited to long and then cut the number of troops...something Bush and company did not need to agree upon during their time. Obama cut the troop levels so far down that a BDE or so 3K worth of troops would be able to do nothing but defend themselves. Further Obama wanted a mandate from their parliament before he would agree to the deal. this was something that was not required nor anything Bush sought. The Iraqi's were not willing to spill political capital and a fight in their government for 3k worth of dudes. An entire Div plus...yeah but not one brigade..or BDE. So there was no deal. Nor was this number worth pissing off Iran.

It used to be that people needed more the headlines to base an opinion. A headline two days ago read that Perry refused to meet with Obama at the airport. If you read that then you assume that Perry, a horrible republican refuses to meet for the always reasonable and generally likeable Obama. You had to read the article to find out that Perry wanted more then handshakes and indeed is getting his meeting on the boarder crisis with Obama. Folks I work in military public affairs...all we do is bullshit feel good propaganda...this is anti republican propaganda. They are betting you are a retard and will assume that Perry sucks and Obama is great just by a headline. This is why he can't be impeached. The media covers for him and people believe it.
38  Getbig Main Boards / Politics and Political Issues Board / Re: Media Ignorance Is Becoming A Serious Problem on: July 09, 2014, 08:27:08 AM
Why post the above article? Because my premise is that most people are now retards. They have zero grasp of history or tend to preach revisionist bullshit like we, on the conservative side, don't grasp that history is complicated. I think folks on the board do ok at times but our population elected Obama twice because he was black. The media ignored his entire history and lack of experience and now we're paying for it. People get their news from The Daily Show and don't know the difference between hard news and opinion. My opinion is that we've swung to hard and are passed the tipping point.
39  Getbig Main Boards / Politics and Political Issues Board / Media Ignorance Is Becoming A Serious Problem on: July 09, 2014, 08:23:03 AM
http://thefederalist.com/2014/07/09/media-ignorance-becoming-serious-problem/

Last week, conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt interviewed Zach Carter, who is The Huffington Post‘s senior political economy reporter. The interview’s purpose was to discuss Carter’s negative response to Hewitt’s previous interview of former Vice President Dick Cheney. The interview was lively and interesting but it did not go well for Carter, who was forced to admit his ignorance of the historical context of the situation in Iraq.
Looked at one way, the interview might almost seem like pointless point-scoring. In response to Hewitt’s questions, Carter admitted he didn’t know who Alger Hiss was and that he hadn’t read The Looming Tower. Those two questions are standard questions for Hewitt’s interviews.

But then Carter said he hadn’t read various other books, such as Bernard Lewis’ Crisis of Islam, Robin Wright’s Dreams and Shadows, or Thomas P. M. Barnett’s The Pentagon’s New Map. He said he hadn’t read Dexter Filkins’ The Forever War but that he’d “read a lot of the stuff that he’s written for The New Yorker.” Filkins joined The New Yorker in 2011. He said he does not read politician’s memoirs, including Cheney’s or George W. Bush’s. That he was unaware that Bill Clinton had bombed Iraq in 1998 or that Gadhafi had reportedly disarmed in 2003. He admitted he doesn’t know who A. Q. Khan, the father of the Pakistan bomb and godfather of Iranian and North Korean nuclear programs, is....

I sure PJB's piece on not to impeach is here somewhere. I agree with him....his point being that even if we hold congress, we won't have the media and an outraged public so it won't work as far as building a base for 2016.  The case would need to be clear cut enough to make to the retards that voted for Obama twice in order for it to work.
41  Getbig Main Boards / Politics and Political Issues Board / How Putin outmaneuvered the US in resupplying the Iraqi military on: July 09, 2014, 07:33:15 AM
If you read the link apparently now before we sell the shit these countries want the idiots in the admin have the countries take seminars in social justice, torture and other crap. The Russians moved on one week.....good job barry.

http://news.yahoo.com/how-the-u-s--is-letting-russia-beat-them-to-the-punch-on-military-aid-to-iraq-203343350.html

Little noticed among the disturbing tableau of images coming out of Iraq in recent weeks is a changing of the guard evident at the Baghdad International Airport (BIAP). As the crisis has deepened, U.S. contractors, U.S. Embassy personnel and most of the U.S. service members from the embassy’s Office of Security Cooperation have abandoned the threatened capital. The exodus has coincided with Russian contractors and support personnel pouring into BIAP to help launch the 25 Russian SU-25 warplanes that Moscow is rushing to Iraq in its hour of need.

Thus in June U.S. contractors employed by Bell Helicopter, Beechcraft and General Dynamics Land Systems have all pulled their support personnel out of Iraq, depriving Iraqis of maintenance and repair for their U.S.-manufactured Bell ARH-407 armed reconnaissance helicopters, Beechcraft T-6 military trainer aircraft and M-1 tanks. Given the deteriorating security situation, a knowledgeable source says that virtually all U.S. contractor personnel have left Iraq.

“When the crisis worsened U.S. corporate leadership made a decision to pull all their guys out of Iraq, and the U.S. government took a hands-off approach that left those decisions up to each company,” said the U.S. source in Baghdad. “We’re discovering that U.S. companies in this crisis don’t have a high tolerance for risk. Unfortunately, the Russians are much more tolerant of risk.”

Making matters worse, that Iraqi arsenal notably does not yet include a single one of the 34 F-16 fighters that Iraq has had on order since 2010; nor the 24 Apache helicopter gunships on order that were held up by Congress until last January and still have not flown; nor the 24 Beechcraft AT-6 Texan II armed turboprop planes that the State Department approved for sale to Iraq back in May.

43  Getbig Main Boards / Politics and Political Issues Board / Re: Obama seeks 3.7 Billion for illegal alien invasion on: July 08, 2014, 11:59:26 AM

Isn't that what you want???  He's requesting the money to deter and keep illegals from entering the country.  Cost way less than the alternative

No he's not...do u post without research......this is where that money is going. Its going to keep them here, not send them home.

Obama Seeks Fresh Billions in Spending to Care for Illegal Children Immigrants, and Relatively Little for Deportations
—Ace
Follow the money.

[T]here are indications the vast majority of the funding will go to caring for the illegal immigrants who are already here -- feeding, housing, and transporting them to new American homes -- while a far smaller amount will go to sending some of those immigrants back to their home countries and preventing future immigrants from crossing into the U.S. illegally.
The president will ask for a large amount of money, perhaps as much as $2 billion, for the Department of Health and Human Services. Most of that will go to care for the more than 50,000 unaccompanied children who have illegally entered the United States in recent months.

York notes the various billions and hundreds of millions to be spent on erecting new housing for the child illegal immigrants, and their care, and so on. I'll refer you to his article for that.

...

What about actually deporting at least some of the thousands who have crossed the border into the United States illegally? That is apparently not a high priority, at least as far as the DHS spending request is concerned. From the draft testimony: "To expedite removal operations, the request also provides $9 million for additional attorneys detailed to accompany judges in the Department of Justice’s Executive Office for Immigration Review and $23 million for 100 enforcement and removal operations (ERO) officers."

So: A total of $1.324 billion ($329 million for the Border Patrol and $995 million for ICE) will go to the "care, feeding, and transportation costs" of the illegal immigrants, while $32 million ($9 million for attorneys and $23 million for removal operations) will go to deportations.

Obama himself is backing away from requesting a change in the law (such as a suspension of the 2008 law requiring child illegal immigrants be granted an asylum hearing before deportation). He just wants more money.

President Barack Obama is holding off for now on seeking new legal authority to send unaccompanied migrant kids back home faster from the Southern border, following criticism that the administration's planned changes were too harsh.
Note the passive construction there. Criticism? From whom?

Obviously from open borders advocates -- but the AP wants to hide that from the reader.

Instead when Obama formally asks Congress for more than $2 billion in emergency spending Tuesday to deal with the border crisis, the request will not be accompanied by the policy changes that the White House had indicated it planned to seek, according to two congressional aides....
White House officials said they still intend to pursue additional authorities to speed the return of the children who've been arriving by the thousands, mostly from El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala. But for now the White House request will focus on additional money for immigration judges, detention facilities, legal aid and other items that could address the situation on the border, which the administration has termed a humanitarian crisis.

"But for now" he's just focusing on aid. Right.

An email reveals the administration's highest priority is securing the border-surgers shelters -- also known as homes.

Seems to me they have homes back in Central America. But for some reason we're going to spend billions to keep them here.

And this isn't just additional billions in federal spending. The law requires that local governments provide all minor residents with an education, and cannot discriminate against them based on "national origin" or even whether they're here legally.

This means that every locality permitting itself to be used as a shelter will have a huge influx of non-English speaking illegal-immigrant students this September.

Taxpayers may foot the bill for the education of the illegal-immigrant children flooding across the border when school resumes this fall.
"American taxpayers are being forced to pay the huge cost of providing schooling to every illegal immigrant under 18 (and many 18+) who is dropped inside the U.S.," a GOP aide with knowledge of the situation e-mails National Review Online. "This is just a tiny slice of the bill taxpayers are being asked to absorb that we're supposedly forbidden from discussing in polite company."

In a "Dear Colleague letter" sent to all public-school districts on May 8, 2014, by the Departments of Justice and Education, federal officials reminded the schools of their obligation to provide equal educational opportunities under the law.

"To comply with these Federal civil rights laws [Titles IV and VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964], as well as the mandates of the Supreme Court, you must ensure that you do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, or national origin, and that students are not barred from enrolling in public schools at the elementary and secondary level on the basis of their own citizenship or immigration status or that of their parents or guardians," the letter says in part. "While a district may restrict attendance to district residents, inquiring into students' citizenship or immigration status, or that of their parents or guardians would not be relevant to establishing residency within the district."

Zach Taylor, formerly of the Border Patrol, says the kids are being "scattered" among the cities of the United States, deliberately.

"Once they’re embedded in the population of the United States, the likelihood that they'll be removed is somewhere between minus one and zero."

unemployment is lower, the stock market is way better, the auto industry is better, you guys just overtook saudi arabia as numero uno for oil production. Your nation is in a better place.

AVXO:

How can you say the US is out of the recession and isn't in a better place? My statement still stands, since he has taken office, regardless of the reasons, the country is in a better space. My inference was that if he is purposely sabotaging the economy(coach) and the US in general he is doing a bad job of that.

If you think anything is better since Obama came in you are a fucking retard. The country is falling apart, Obama is weak, we look weak abroad....gas costs twice as much. Obama is approaching worst president ever territory. He refuses to deal with the border or even go there. We've lost Iraq and are slowly sending troops back there. The recover is weak and the stock market will correct and then we'll all be fucked. Not to mention the attacks this kind of weakness invites. But don't blame Barry....my fucking cat could do better.
