Testosterone replacement law suits are flying now because a study has shown they increase the risk of heart attacks.  They are unsure of the mechanism but some speculate it thickens the blood. If this is true imagine the increased risk taking recreational bodybuilding amounts especially if you are in your 40's or 50's?

hemochromatosis is a side effect of TRT, no doubt it thickens your blood, if you insist on using it it needs to be combined with venesection or donation of blood at least a few times per year, again some people are genetically pre dispositioned towards things more than others, similar could be said to people who have prostate issues in their gene pool. I have been a user in the past but have changed my mind based on forming my own point of view on both pro and against information and my own set of personal circumstances, which is what I would encourage anyone to do, but using blindly shouldnt been an excuse anymore the science is there to assist you with whatever you choose to do,

interesting....does insurance usually cover this kind of testing? or whats the costs?

It doesnt usually costs me about $350 out of pocket, steroid users usually register a score years before they would if they hadnt used, the effect of steroids on the natural levels of cholesterol seem to accelerate hardening of the arteries in saying that most cardiologists still believe family history is a huge factor.

Facial flushing is not a direct symptom of Hypertension per se, because Hypertension (high blood pressure) is for the most part a symptomless condition. There are no direct symptoms directly correlated with hypertension.  You can have facial flushing and hypertension, but a direct correlation between the two does not exist.   When it comes to dropping dead from cardiovascular disease itself (heart attack), then there are more correlated signs to watch for when a heart attack takes place.  i.e. onset of chest pain, numbness in arms/legs, shortness of breath, etc.  Some say Warrior exhibited shortness of breath.   If Warrior had gone to a hospital after experiencing shortness of breath, and Doctors ran an ECG and blood enzyme test, it's possible they could have done further tests to find out where specifically the issue was.  Problem is, cardiovascular disease manifests itself in many forms.  i.e. blood clots in arms, legs.  clots in vessels in heart, clots in vessels in brain.  Even malformations of the heart stemming at birth.  Problem is, your basic check up with your Doctor can reveal you are perfectly healthy according to 'the numbers', and an hour later things can suddenly change and you can drop dead.   Doctors rarely perform more advanced screening such as yearly Coronary Calcium Scans on people, unless they are wealthy, high paid athletes, or Presidents.

I do a bi annual coronary calcium score test, anyone whos taken steroids in their life should, it gives you a degree of predictability when assessing future cardiac risk,Blood work and stress tests will usually only become negative when heart disease is at a very late stage, you need to get in early and make lifestyle changes and give yourself every opportunity, in saying that you can do everything properly and be gone as quick you didnt as well in a lot of cases.

As new immigrants to a country we were poor, never had sodas, ate at restaurants, never had a holiday, but it installed a will and drive in me that i am eternally grateful to my parents for to this day

So are you suggesting that excessive amounts of testosterone effect the body negatively at advanced ages?

I absolutely think that the body knows its not natural to have that much test running through it in your late 40's and 50's.

Then again, look at guys like Arnold, Sly, and even our own Wes.

You know what they say, when its your time........

What im saying I stopped, I never used large dosages in my younger competitive days, ,never took more than TRT after retiring and even then did so periodically, but as I have watched others all be it people who have taken much larger dosages than myself drop, I have adopted the view that I no longer want even TRT, it gives my natural body a false sense of recovery, it sucks especially the first 6 months, but after a while you realise that as you age if you want to continue to age not die prematurely you need to listen to your body and have regular checks, do I miss the TRT hell yes, and I will forever be tempted as only training natural can you realise how much 100mg of test a week does. But i have made my mind up and my aerobic capacity is much greater TRT free, its a personal thing and opinion but one im happy to share. The thickening of the blood is something all TRT users need to manage effectively, to me warriors body much like Youngbloods looks starved of oxygen, red  purple look is not healthy.
7  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Damn RIP Ultimate Warrior... on: April 14, 2014, 05:23:30 PM
bizarre end to that video,,if his waist was much smaller he would have looked better ,it was  wide and rounded, ripped tho ,,but he was on a lot over long periods and maybe clean and jacked back up again last few yrs..

Warrior looks pretty well much stil full of TRT in this vid, I dont recommend TRT to anyone with any type of heart issue, it just accelerates premature death, I havent dont TRT in a long time now and did cycle it when i did, It certainly always effected aerobic capacity negatively.

Why does' an aussie have so much hate for a country that is simply just not falling into the USA new world order, none of the people posting in this thread are russian, we are all just simply against the USA running around the world imposing their will upon everyone and thing. Your turning this into who would win in a war, are you ten or twelve, everyone loses, we live in a world of usa imposed double standards most of us are just commentating about this, as an Australian with no military defence or capability we do realise that in any conflict you would require military assistance from the USA Uk but that shouldn't mean that you should so blindly allow a nation bully and exploit the rest of the world, especially a country who pushed the world to the brink of economic collapse a few years back and now continues to fix its economy by simply printing more money but also insists that the US dollar remains the stable global trading currency, have a voice, a different point of view, but surely your more capable off we have more nukes that you blah blah.

Looks good for his age, is it just me or does he look like he's got some oil sitting in his lower triceps, funny how with age the lats just seem to go, his back at his peak was a major strength of his, ageing and nerve function damage is a real bummer.
11  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Yates 96 German Gran Prix on: April 13, 2014, 06:18:34 PM
Yates  93 with two good arms, is the absolute peak of the sport, with Wheelers Ironman and Arnold showing earlier that year being the second, Ronnie at his peak could be argued as third just due to the amount of muscle he carried, but he never possessed the balance and shape of either Yates or Wheeler at their very peak.

14  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Damn RIP Ultimate Warrior... on: April 09, 2014, 11:12:17 AM
he looked real bad doing the last interview, he was as red as don youngblood was before he died, hope he wasn't using TRT, he needed to shrink post wrestling and normalise his body for the fight ahead, ive seen people that red before, they usually end up having a triple by pass after blockages are discovered he sounded like he was suffocating the other night, shame like many others he couldn't have survived and treated his symptoms, who knows maybe he did, his face certainly looked starved of oxygen the other night.

RIP

Destabilising a government bordering Russia, wasn't smart but neither was intervention in Iraq, Syria, Egypt and Libya, they destabilise to exploit, they have already lost face with North Korea and the axis of evil crap, when they didn't attack after he sunk that south korean warship because they had nuclear retaliation capacity, dumbest foreign policy ever to allow the CIA to start motivating bordering states to Russia lets face it they only had to look to Georgia to realise that Putin doesn't follow the script on the new world order.

Funny our grandfathers fought and died for us in war, not for them to come to our lands and dictate to us how we should treat them and feed them through taxes, makes me sick glad we emigrated from the shythole,

Funny when they were burning and rioting in the capital KIev to over throw the democratically elected government, they were doing it in the name of freedom. Now when a few ruskies do it in areas where the population is mainly ethnic russian and pro russian they are criminals. Always count on the western press and media to tell you how it is. If the eastern part of the ukraine wants separatism from the west should be no problem nato should support it like they did, Kosovo.

Drop the attitude, take whats on board in the warnings in a positive way, ask her boss to detail to her how she could improve her performance ask that she be given time and maybe even training so that she can keep her job, have her explain to her boss that she really needs this job.

If she doesn't want to do the above, she deserves the third warning, in business your staff are your business, understand that, he needs someone in that position who wants the job, doesn't sound like she does, communicating isnt kissing ass and a job is a privilege especially in today economic climate, not a given.

an ectomoph can get that lean naturally he just cant build any size, standing he would look like a beanpole, so its possible but if hes over 70kg I would say no. see plenty of alcholic drug addicts that are lean beyond belief
21  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Team Putin and Sanctions on Russia on: April 03, 2014, 04:01:49 PM
So is russia gonna move on ukraine or what? It starting to get boring..i need some new action to keep me entertained. Plus i love it when russia makes the globalists get their panties all in a twist Smiley

There is no need to, they have already demonstrated that they will act while the west will talk, The rest of the Eastern Ukraine does not represent as much strategic value to Russia as Crimea, The russian populated areas of Ukraine will only be invaded to protect citizens, if they had not invaded and annexed Crimea, the anti russian brigades backed by the west would have already moved east, the west now knows that Russia will react directly now to avoid a civil war which would have been the wests preference, better undermine and install a puppet government than to actually have to send your own troops there to die, you dont have to beat Uncle sam you just have to kill enough of them for the war to be unpopular, and let there democracy do the rest. Korea, Vietnam, they cant win a war, they more than have the capacity to do it but their democratic free society doesn't have the stomach for it.
22  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Cultural Enrichment - UK Girl Was 'Still Alive as Boyfriend Decapitated Her' on: April 02, 2014, 04:25:01 PM
Haider would represent the muslim majority that are not radical, the issue muslims have is their criminals commit crime and do so in the name of their religion, many non muslims commit crime without referencing religion as most don't have any. Both are criminals, but I dont want to sound like a liberal who encourages muslim immigration to the west, Im against it as their youth are to easily radicalised when they cant adjust to the modern democratic capitalist system which leaves many feeling they are discriminated against, they are not. unemployment is a fact of capitalism that confronts both muslim and non muslim, just non muslims tend to react by going to mosques where they are to easily radicalised by a small minority of hard liners that seem to exist in every mosque, or if they fall into drugs etc, like many people do who end up finding god, they tend to again be radicalised where as other people find christianity through born again groups etc, muslims from that lifestyle tend to lean towards radical islam, its a problem and more needs to be done against the radicals amongst their groups that take these people in and radicalise their beliefs towards hatred of the western system, and staying silent as many moderate muslims do is part of the problem.
23  Getbig Main Boards / Gossip & Opinions / Re: Team Putin and Sanctions on Russia on: April 02, 2014, 03:29:04 PM

Putin won't be laughing for too long and neither will Crimea.......you see, Crimea gets their power, food, and fresh water from the Ukraine.....so its only a matter of time before that gets fucked with

Lol your beyond stupid, luckily for Ukrainians this sanctioning process against Russia has been instigated coming into the european spring believe me it will be resolved before the European winter, it is nothing more than the West trying to save a little face, believe me a phone call would have been given to Putin along the lines we have to look like were doing something, if they turn off the gas next winter in just that one act, they would have topped any sanction the west could bring against Russia.

Its all politics and its a done deal, west just trying to save face publicly, Putin looking like a grand master outplaying the west, and with a third rate armed forces Ukraine thinks it will be better off in the west, like Egypt Libya to many of their people think they will live like the people do on american tv, they dont realise that in democracy and capitalism there are winners and losers and their fate is sealed to the later, marked for future exploitation like every other american influenced country, that uncle sam has saved, dumb sheep.

Matt Mendenhall: Much More

Than a Physical Body

by Lisa Dunsky Photography by Art Zeller

In a small Cincinnati suburb an electrical engineer sits at a drafting table and perfects designs for a marnmoth turbine power generation set. His skill and expertise make it difficult to imagine him in any other career. But if you take a closer look, you can tell that this particular engineer hasn't spent his entire life with pencils and slide rules: Matt Mendenhall still has the physique of a champion.

During his competition days Mendenhall weighed an amazing 265 pounds and was touted as the only man who could take away Lee Haney's Olympia title. Even Haney himself said as much. Like Tantalus, whom the Greek gods tortured by keeping food and drink just beyond his reach, however, Mendenhall couldn't grasp what he wanted the most—an IFBB pro card. Second to Haney at the '82 Nationals. Second to Berry DeMey at the '85 World Games. Second to Gary Strydom at the '86 Nationals. Then Mendenhall seemed to vanish from the competitive scene.

Everyone has a theory as to why the kid with so much talent never made it to the pro ranks. Now, two years after he last stepped on stage, Mendenhall wants to set the record straight. "No one's heard my story," he explained. "All they've heard are gym rumors. People assumed I was

Matt Mendenhall's tremendous potential had the bodybuilding world gasping.

the fast-lane life of L.A., and that's what was keeping me from getting my act together. But that wasn't it."

So what did keep Mendenhall from grabbing bodybuilding's brass ring? To find the answer, you have to start with his beginnings in the sport and his meteoric rise to the top. At 17 Mendenhall began a serious weight-training program. A year later he entered a local contest, won the Teenage Overall, Men's Overall, Most Muscular and Best Poser. The year after that he entered and won a regional-level national qualifier.

Up to that point Mendenhall remained drug-free. Then, while preparing for his first national contest, he decided to use anabolic steroids. "The '82 Nationals was my first drug program. If I didn't think I could go far in the sport, I wouldn't have taken steroids. But I knew I had the God-given talent."

That year Mendenhall's natural abilities oozed out of every pore. He nearly walked away with the show, losing to Haney by a scant two points. Any concerns he may have had about using steroids were quickly pushed to the back of his mind.

"When I first started taking steroids, I was a basket case," Mendenhall said. "Any time I felt a 'ping' or a 'twang,' I thought, 'Oh, no, I'm falling apart. The drugs are killing me.' Natural testosterone pills are much safer, but after that first cycle it became reckless. I had a taste of sweet success, and I was in the rat race. I thought, 'What can I do to get even better?' "

Shortly after the '82 Nationals Mendenhall received a phone call and job offer from Joe Weider. Before long he was living in Los Angeles and regularly appearing on magazine covers, in feature articles and in advertisements. The bodybuilding public fell in love with Mendenhall's awesome physique and all-American good looks. Guest posing and seminar offers poured in. It was a dream come true, but there was a price to pay.

"I was too marketable for my own good. I was touring all the time and guest posing and had to stay on steroids almost year-round. I always had blood work done every two or three months. I never had any liver or kidney damage, no heart flutters. I
